We have eaten here a few times. Kids love pancakes. The food is fine. Service/seating is reliable. The last time we were there it looked and felt less clean. I felt a little grossed out at how sticky the bottles on the table were, the trash on the floor never being picked up, and the gross-ness of many of the other customers. We haven’t been back. We tend to go to georgie v’s or leonidas.

Our breakfast orders were prepared perfectly. However, our server was mediocre at best. My husband ordered a small orange juice and I ordered coffee with cream. The booth we were seated in was sticky from syrup and the syrup bottle was never washed off or had the cap put back on from the previous customer. We had to ask this to be done. The cream was spoiled and did weird thing in the coffee. My husband NEVER did get his OJ. Overall $ 24 is more than enough to pay for breakfast when your only getting meh service.

This place is great for when you have a hankering for a literal orange in a glass and need to catch up on work, after sleeping three deep in a Walmart parking lot, of course. Also, it’s the perfect place to kick around the idea of moving to SoCal for double promotions.

Solid food in the burbs. I love their skillets and whole wheat pancakes. Even on Sunday mornings u don’t have to wait long to sit. Service is fast specially when u r with the kids is a plus. Never a bad meal here.

I love this place and come here all the time before work(like, literally all the time — so much so that every waiter automatically knows to fetch my orange juice and cream for my coffee when they see me). It’s very convenient, the service is fast and friendly, and I have never had a bad meal.

I didn’t enjoy my last experience here. First off, the service was awful and it took forever to get our food. I got the blueberry pancakes with biscuits and gravy. The pancakes tasted extremely dry and gummy tasting. The biscuits and gravy were good. Also, the eggs aren’t the best that I have had and didn’t taste very fresh. Although they do have the best freshly squeezed orange juice here, but for the taste of the food I can have better at Georgie Vs with better service as well.

I came home from my breakfast at Butterfield’s and made myself a few eggs to make sure I wasn’t rating them unfairly out of hunger. The Waitress had to be asked twice to bring water, and nodded at most requests during the order instead of verbally affirming them. During the meal we were not checked on by our waitress once. The portions are small given the prices. My date asked for her eggs over medium and they were delivered over easy. The menu claims they serve whipped butter with the pancakes, but it is regular butter scooped into a ball. If that’s whipped butter, it’s the hardest and most dense whipped butter there ever could be. The pancakes were served warm at the most generous, and the cold hard butter combined with the room temperature to cold syrup hanging out on the table all day meant that the butter had absolutely no chance of melting into the pancakes. Many other restaurants serve small pre-heated ceramic pitchers of syrup for this reason. The manager/owner asked us how it was as the meal was wrapping up. I clearly stated«Fine.» And she accepted that answer and left. If a customer of mine had told me that the service I deliver in my line of work is «fine,» I’m going to dig deeper to find out why they didn’t say good or great.

Came here with a bogo with my wife. I had to sample the French toast. I ordered just plain French toast and I would rate it passable. Nothing special for $ 7.50 and not as good as Walker Bros French toast. A side of corn beef hash was good. Service was good, people friendly(I don’t like reviewers who criticize a restaurant because service was not perfect — waiters are just human beings(!) and the restaurant doesn’t have total control over them folks). Overall, based on the entrees, it’s a meal but I’ve been to better breakfast places. But my mind is open to a revisit some day.

We went here cause a lot of my coworkers go here and their farmers skillet is really good. So are their grits and biscuits. My family didn’t have the greatest experience with food this time. My husband got the corned beef skillet and he did not like it. I got the California scrambler and it didn’t look appetizing and there were big chunks of chicken. It’s like the cook didn’t feel like cooking this day. Then the temp in the restaurant was uncomfortable too warm. I felt like there was heat blowing right above me, which made it hard to drink coffee. Service was ok, but it didn’t seem like the waiter wanted to be there. Prices were on the higher end. Food is average… better if u get mcdonaldS breakfast or Einstein bagels.

I love the bright sunny atmosphere here. My dad sometimes takes me to breakfast and we always come here. They have great food and good service. And there’s almost never a full house!

This place has the best breakfasts and GOOD coffee. Great freshly-squeezed orange juice, fabulous scramblers, including chorizo – my favorite one to die for! Secondly, they have the best burger and fries ever, even better than places known for their burgers.

Got a bogo groupon and it was a great deal. The strawberry cheesecake French toast was delicious, rich and plentiful. The boy friends banana waffles looked very tempting as well. Over all the food and service were great! Cozy ambience. A new favorite breakfast spot.

Just not good. Food is tasteless and under seasoned. The side of fruit I ordered looks old and was inedible. Service is terrible and our server barely spoke any english which made ordering extremely challenging. Big fat thumbs down!

We have been in different pancake houses and none of them can even compare to Butterfield!!! I don’t know why people giving so many good reviews to Walker Brother or Egg Harbor. In those places food don’t even look good I’m not saying about taste. Buttetfield is very clean, bright and sunny place to eat your breakfast! French toasts are awesome(they put butter on the side), salads are always fresh, French fries are yummy too. It’s our favorite breakfast place(we live across the street) Service is good too, never had a problem.

Tuscan omelette was amazing. Overflowing with asparagus, prosciutto and Swiss cheese. Side of multigrain pancakes were hearty and delish. Other side was fresh fruit and it wasn’t just melon with a few token grapes — strawberries and blueberries too. I loved every bite of this meal. Husband said the sausage patties and hashbrowns were great. Regular pancakes were a bit dry(for a self-proclaimed pancake house this is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). All in all, a great place. Big dining space, cute and not pretentious. Definitely check it out — huge menu so there’s something for everyone.

This place looked great and was in a very convenient spot(live a few blocks from this plaza) but that’s where the good part ended… I have to say that for such mediocre food the prices are similar to higher grade establishments. I had 4 egg and bacon breakfast. My eggs were cooked just how I asked but my bacon was definitely not fresh and very hard, almost broke the plate trying to cut through. The pancakes looked like they were good but they literally broke into crumbs as I tried to cut them(they were SODRY) I drowned them in butter and syrup and I was able to tolerate them. On my way out I asked the owner who is in the front for a balloon for my daughter The owner did not read and respond when I asked her for a balloon she just kept counting her money so I just inflated the ballon that was sitting there for my daughter and The owner came yelling at me telling me in a very loud and rude voice that I’m not supposed to do that even though I told her but was ignored she told me that she was busy counting money and she quickly pushed me out of the way I can honestly say I’ve never been to a restaurant and treated this way by the owner mind you I told her that she was being very rude she didn’t seem to care and just kept counting her money I walked out and I can honestly tell you that I’m never going back to eat breakfast there… They need to put someone with customer service experience at the front desk before the owner any chance of this establishment gaining regular customer Update: spoke with the Owner who sincerely apologized and said he would make sure to speak with the front desk personnel. Sounded like a nice guy, maybe i just got a bad apple

Yum yum yummy! I never knew I would find a restaurant in the suburbs I would want to brunch at ALL the time. The restaurant is huge, and there wasn’t a wait on a Sunday at 10:30am. The server was a bit hurried and unattentive, but I attribute that to her having to serve tables filled with babies and toddlers. My sister had the biscuits and gravy with two sunny side up eggs, and I never hated being lactose intolerent as much as when I tried her plate. It was delicious, creamy, messy perfection. The mixture of the yolk, biscuits, and gravy was just amazing. Even though I cannot eat it, this is the dish I will recommend in the future. My dish arrived fifteen minutes later(I was slightly disappointed because everyone was almost finished).I had the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and hash browns. I was very happy with my dish, and I plan on getting variations of it in Madison. The eggs were poached very well, and the salmon didn’t cook under the egg so it retained its smoky raw flavor. I loved this meal. I loved this experience. Hooray suburbs, you make me proud!

Butterfield’s is a solid breakfast joint with delicious skillets, fresh squeezed orange juice, and consistently good service. I recommend trying it out especially because the wait time has never been more than 10 minutes in my experience(even on a Sunday morning). So I’m pretty boring when it comes to going out for breakfast and I always end up ordering skillets. Why? Because it’s the best of all worlds! You get eggs, meat, AND hash browns all in one dish! The skillets I’ve tried so far are the Farmer’s skillet and the New Mexico skillet, both of which are killer. The ingredients in all of the dishes are very fresh which is great. The New Mexico is slightly spicy as it should be since it has spicy chorizo sausage. If you want to feel«healthier», the Farmer’s has more veggies such as broccoli, mushroom, and peppers. Their pancakes are light and fluffy which are characteristics important to me. I can’t review anymore of their sweeter choices since I’m always in the mood for something savory, but I’m sure you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose!
