I stop here often with my son on the way to his drum lessons. I’ve had breakfast, the salad and soup bar, stuffed cabbage, burgers, etc. It’s always fresh and pretty good-tasting. It isn’t spectacular, but what you might expect from a diner. The staff is friendly and we keep going back, so it must be o.k. They are a 24 hour diner. YAY.

Food was good. Service was ok. The hostess could of been a lot more friendly. She didn’t even smile when I said have a great night before I left. But beside that it was ok. Not the best, but not the worst.

The food is good. Good flavor and hot. Unfortunately, the service is a variety of bad on any given day… Unfriendly, inefficient, slow, or sometimes just plain rude :(If you don’t mind taking a chance on that, the food is good diner food.

Their food is good, but unfortunately their service pretty bad. I don’t really know if it’s because I’m Latin or what… but reason enough to never come back!

Food was okay. Service is horrible. One other table besides mine and haven’t seen our server for the whole meal. Currently still waiting on him as I write this review(it’s been 30 min). I asked the lady for water and she gave me the dirtiest look as if it was ridiculous for me to of even asked that question.

Horrible — I can’t think of any other word to describe this place. My family of four dined there on Friday at 7:30pm. I should have known when there was only three tables in the place something was wrong. All of the entrees were not good. The service was mediocre and the restrooms were filthy. STAYAWAY — ITISHORRIBLE!!!

If I wanna get treated like crap, next time, I’ll save the cost of a meal & visit my ex-girlfriend. This is the only place I’ve ever left less than a 20% tip in my life. I’ve never been treated so rudely, unprovoked. Oh well, no sense in ever going back here.

Stopped in with my four children. It was bright and clean inside. Our server was really nice, possibly the owner? The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. Good portion sizes, even for the kids’ meals. I had the French dip panini with fries and it was great. Our server gave the kids cookies to go for later. I’ll be back next time we are in the area.

Still consistent and the best value in the area A heats fresh and warm. Great soups that are homemade

Just an average diner. Crazy middle/late aged employees that can sometimes be fine but sometimes too much. One has to assume the kitchen is not clean enough to pass legal standards, but maybe it does, if so then just barely, like all the other diner round the area. Nothing special.

We just had an excellent dinner. Barb, the waitress, was great. Everything was fresh hot and cooked the way we asked. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is run by seriously incompetent people. After waiting to be seated for more than an hour, we ended up leaving. They continued to seat people after we can in and we were told we were next on the list when first giving our name. Will NEVER go there again!

My husband and I love this place and we go probably 3 times a week for lunch. There is a large menu, a good salad bar, and pleasant staff. The food is always delicious! Occasionally, my husband and I will split lunch if one of us isn’t very hungry, and they have never tried to add on an «extra plate» charge like the West Main Diner and sometimes Michael’s will. By far our favorite diner in the area!

Meh! I wouldn’t go back again or out of my way to get here. The food was edible but not really all that good. I had an egg white omelet w/spinach, mushrooms and bacon. It came with a side of hashbrowns and toast for $ 8.49, and I got grapefruit juice, which tasted terrible cause it came straight from a can or mix but wasn’t fresh. The homefries, I’d asked for onions but they were just dumped on top. Plus the waiter w/the 6th finger was a little rude. Yes. I said 6th finger!

In town visiting the family up in Horsham. My fiancé and I got up too late over at the Marriott so we missed Sunday breakfast – but we had a hankering for breakfasty food – you know the feeling. So we jetted over to the American Star Diner, an establishment I’ve passed dozens of times… until this time. Had no idea this was the place to be, but we do now. I was kind of surprised to see a limited menu. I mean, go to ANY diner in PA/Jersey and the menu is 10 pages long, chock-full of items, blue plates, a la cartes, etc. The breakfast menu was on the last/back page and limited. Plus there were no combos, which makes the meal a tad pricey for a diner – and breakfast for that matter. At any rate, the food is really good and plentiful. And from what my family tells us, everything on the menu is spectacular. We’ll definitely be going back because at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I would just like to see more variety or meal options in the breakfast menu, as opposed to piecing it together. That adds up! We had: 2 OJs Hamsteak & eggs(came with toast and potatoes) Side of pancakes(2) Scrambled eggs w/peppers & onions(came w/potatoes & toast) Side of scrapple Side of French Toast(2 slices) _________________________________ $ 33.95 + tip P. This was a hang out for me and my friends in my community college years when Michael’s Diner was too busy. American Star is little smaller, the menu has fewer options, the service is slower and the diner itself is less comfortable… but it’s still a solid alternative. It’s your standard reliable diner food with a pretty decent salad bar. The wallpaper is tacky but don’t let that deter you from a good cup of coffee and an omelette or some Sysco fries. Also they get points for being open 24 hours.

My friend brought me here for one reason: scrapple. Not the best start to your day unless you are a scrapple fan, which I certainly am not. Evidently it’s really good here. Honestly I have had better diner breakfasts at a lot of other places. I love runny sunny-side eggs with toast and something here was lacking. but hey for $ 5.49 for two eggs and sausage I am not going to complain too much. I don’t regret going to American Star Diner but I won’t be back again.
