As far as the décor and set up of the restaurant. It’s fresh and nicely presented as you can see into the kitchen. The food is also flavorful and good for both American and Authentic Chinese palates. The crispy beef is pretty darn good!

food mediocre at best. Staff very crabby and impersonal. I spent 140.00 in takeout and asked for plates and got reprimanded by the Asian lady ringing me up twice, because I didn’t ask for plates when placing order. its a neighborohood retaraunt, that I go to ocassionally, and I WONT go back. Ive heard this complaint before and cleary wont go back any more as long as I live here. If you are going to be in the restaurant business, they need to learn to be nice. I’ll go to Falls Grove and go to tae pei Tokyo. They need new management

I generally get delivery from this place to my work and I really don’t have any complaints. The food is good, reasonably priced — and I appreciate actual Chinese style dishes available for delivery as well — and not just American Chinese.

Price isn’t worth it. General Tso Chicken was more sweet & sour than General Tso. No heat what so ever! Only one red pepper in sauce. The size of the Beef an Broccoli was nice, but no flavor. DON“T bother with the wonton soup… dish water has more flavor. Wont be going there unless I have too. Disappointing.

Right next door to a 7 eleven. Pretty busy on Friday night. There is sushi bar which we did not try. The menu is very large. We ordered: 1 eggplant with hot garlic sauce. Very delicious. Not spicy. Probably my favorite thing we got. 2 deep fried shrimp. Good amount, but very salty. 3 crispy beef. I am not sure how ident about this dish. I have had crispy beef before but much more shredded. Here the beef was much thicker do I thought it would be crispy on the outside and have a meat texture inside. That was not the case. It felt like I was just eating through fried flavored batter. It was good but not what I was hoping for. 4. Two orders of fried rice. Nothing special. 5. Shrimp tempura. A little soggy. Likely due to it laying on top of shredded lettuce. Overall pretty good Chinese food. Good for groups. They also deliver.

Haven’t been to this restaurant in awhile and now I remember why. Sesame beef was too sweet without any sesame flavor. Chicken with cashews was flavorless, greasy and had about 4 cashews in it. So Disappointed!

Delicious spicy beef noodle soup with soft and tender beef chunks. YUMMY. My mouth is watering as I am writing this review. I am also a fan of their Beef Chow Fun. The servers are nice and yesterday when I stopped by, I ordered the beef noodle soup and she actually remembered that I don’t like the cilantro and sour vegetables, and I thanked her for reminding me. Overall, my family and I have a wonderful taste and service experience.

It’s time to tell mama wok to take a walk. Food is ok, used to be pretty good. Take out help very unfriendly. No hello. Didn’t even say thank you or she she or nuttin. Of course, I got home and discovered one of the orders is wrong. Considering it was just chicken lo mein, which unfriendly staff repeated to make sure, why would they give me chicken AND vegetables? I called to let them know but unfriendly staff would pretend she didn’t understand what was wrong with the order. After back and forth for a minute all of the sudden their English deteriorated to the point that I couldn’t tell if there was any communication going on. So I hung up. They won(ton) haha. But, alas, after being a patron for 15 years I’m calling it quits. It’s time to tell mama wok to take a walk for good.

I like this place as they always delivered to my job on Key West. Their lunch special is just like most Chinese restaurants. Sushi is fresh and I really really* like their shrimp fried rice. They use well sized shrimp for normal pricing and the rice has nice color and seasoning. I’ve ordered from here a handful of times and wasn’t disappointed like some of the other reviews. I usually get the spicy crunchy tuna, the chicken with mixed vegetables, shrimp fried rice, eggrolls, and pepper steak. All were good to me although the pepper steak meal was filled with extra onions and green peppers to take up space so they didn’t have to use more meat, lol.

I feel like I’ve come here in years past and had a better experience. Came here for lunch on a Sunday because I was craving Chinese food. The lunch specials are were just under $ 10. You have a choice of a spring roll or soup, white rice or brown rice, and an entrée. All the entrees were Chinese American foods like beef and broccoli or general tso’s chinese, which is totally fine because sometimes you’re in the mood for that. We ordered a szechuan beef and sesame chicken. We were both full, but not satisfied. The food seemed to lack personality, like they weren’t trying to make it taste good, but just cooking the dish to check it off the list. All in all, I think I’d be more satisfied eating Panda Express for this kind of Chinese American food. I’ll have to come back here with my Chinese parents, see what they order and update my review. My guess is, you come here specifically for certain dishes. People in my family have also mentioned that the Mama Wok on Hungerford Drive is under different management and the food there is much better.

Long time customer very disappointed for the last time Crispy Duck was more like mushy bird. Combination fried fried rice eatable but not much flavor. Agree with other reviewer that Mama Wok just in it to count receipts now.

Um… no. The steamed pork dumplings tasted rotten. The steamed vegetable dumplings had no flavor. The general tso chicken(I didn’t get this dish!) was alright. Judging by how their dumplings tasted, no thanks. The dough to filling ratio was way off… too much dough. I’ll avoid next time.

My family has ordered Chinese food from this restaurant for years. We’ve never strayed very far from our usual go-to items such as Mar-Po Bean Curd, Fish Fillet in Black Bean Sauce, Chinese Watercress, Pepper Steak, Pork with Dried Bean Curd, and Moo Shi Chicken. Only once did I order sushi from here and I regretted it. The quality was below average – rice falling off the roll, tiny portions of raw fish, and questionable freshness of the vegetables. Perhaps I just ordered it on an off-day, or their batch of fresh ingredients never got delivered, but I am not going to get their sushi. The other dishes can be hit or miss. One day they can be fantastic; another day they can be bland, greasy, and oddly thick(like they were too heavy-handed with the corn starch). Thankfully, the Fish Fillet in Black Bean Sauce has always been good, although I do wish the fillets could be less battered and fried. I can’t say much for the other dishes, but judging from the taste of the same dishes I have had for the past several years, I will conclude that they will be about the same: hit or miss, tasty or bland.

Great place for a family dinner or date night! Excellent Taiwanese cuisine and delicious sushi! Best known for the steamed whole fish with fresh ginger and green onions in a light soy sauce. The presentation was beautiful and the meal great to the last bite. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you love great food you must try it. We also had a mixed seafood combo with veggies that was light and flavorful, loved the shiitake mushrooms.

Been going here for 10+ years with my family. Great American/Chinese cuisine with friendly staff. Favorites dishes are the moshoo beef, dumplings, all of the fresh sushi and walnut shrimp. We love the dumplings and the accommodating staff :-)

It’s never a good sign when the tofu in your hot pot went sour — even if the replacement(beef tripe) was above average. From the outside, I would have never guessed this was a legit Chinese restaurant — and I still don’t. The decorations are appropriate for a time-travel movie, and the service could be better. While our tofu was spoiled in the hot pot, they did promptly replaced it with another dish. But I’m definitely going back to the other Mama Wok location in Rockville next time.

Been coming here for years. Not a big fan of their Americanized dishes. They just don’t taste good. Instead, I usually stick with their seafood dishes. Just tried their soft shelled crabs tonight, and it was really good. My usual go to dishes here are the lobster with ginger and scallion sauce, sea bass in fired pot and the live fish(usually black cod with this awesome crispy fried brown sauce on top).
