I was incredibly disappointed. I booked my appointment with Dr. Diane because I read the great reviews. I brought my husband in case he had questions and because we’re talking about having kids. Dr. Laurin rushed through the exam, engaged in minimal conversation and when I mentioned I had questions she met with me after in the office and barely encouraged any questions. When I mentioned a hereditary blood clotting disorder I might have it was minimally discussed. She barely smiled during the entire interaction which was disheartening. Very disappointed. I thought preparation questions prior to conceiving would be encouraged but that definitely was not the case.

She’s the best ob/​gyn I’ve ever had. My spouse and I are moving back to the DMV in a month and looking forward to scheduling with Dr. Laurin!

if you’re looking for an ob/​gyn who makes you comfortable, makes you laugh, and has a great office staff, this is where you need to be.
i had been a patient of dr. laurins for a long time before i moved to the west coast, and had a hell of a time finding someone out here that made me feel comfortable. dr. laurin is professional but at the same time, very youthful and fun. she talks you through your annual exams, and has a cute comic posted to the ceiling so when you’re assuming the pap position, you can read it and have a laugh.
and i think they accept all major health insurance plans.
their office does laser hair removal as well (its called Capital Women’s Care), and Dr. Laurin does that as well. in fact, i managed to squeeze in five passes of laser hair removal in before i moved, and it was made much less painful because she was trying to distract me while the laser shot painful beams of light into my body. she even prescribed me some topical anesthetic to get me through the torturous process. and the results are AMAZING.
i know its hard to pinpoint that perfect OB/​GYN, but i really lucked out here.
i suggest making an appointment with dr. laurin. you won’t regret it.
