Children’s Learning Adventure

Wow, what can I say, it a OK school, looks great from the outside and inside, but when you get to the heart if the school (staff, teachers) the school isn’t that great. I paid $ 210.00 a week for my son, everyday he always says «I don’t want to go to school», I asked him, but he never tells me why. He attended Kids Campus down the street before and never said that. The staff never tries to remember your name, not like Kids Campus, after 1 week I was always welcomed following my name, after 2 months at CLA and never heard the staff say my name once. We decided to go on a 10 day vacation, I told the school and they said, «There is no VACATION Days here», meaning while you take your child on vacation, they still bill you while your child is not there, and they automatically withdraw the funds from your account every week, at Kids campus they gave you 3 weeks in 1 year to go on vacation and not have to pay for it. One time at Kids Campus we took a 6 week Vacation overseas and Kids Campus said, «Withdraw your child and just pay the $ 70.00 enrollment fee to hold his spot», so when we got back to the country we just had to pay for his time there, now that’s what I call «CUSTOMER SERVICE». I don’t know why I ever removed him from Kids Campus, so parents beware this might not be the best school here in Vegas, looks great from the outside, but crappy in the inside. (1hr later), Wow just got a phone call from the director of the school to speak with me about this post, I was very impressed that she called and was sympathetic of me concerns and said that the school employees Could have gone a different way to resolve my issues, but they didnt though, Thanks for the call.

Great daycare ! My 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter love going to school everyday. Friendly staff, clean environment, nice playgrounds. My children are well taken care of and always learning new things.

My two sons started at Children’s Learning Adventure when it opened in February 2015. The boys are 2 and 4 years old and we were previously at a day care that offered a lower rate, but cannot compare to CLA. I have been to a few different day cares in Las Vegas and by far CLA stands above all of them. The price includes so many things that most day cares charge per item, including all the food, which I thought my picky eater would never eat at CLA, but he finally did and really has explored new and interesting foods that I could never get him to eat at home. CLA includes a crib if you have a crib sleeper (some day cares require you bring in your own pack n play and then when you want to go out of town such a nightmare to remember to bring it back and forth!) and cute little cots for older kids that are sanitized every day. Cleanliness is a top priority here. The staff and director Tina are amazing! I truly have no worries when I take the boys there and both boys love it there. My oldest was at a few different day cares and he really thrives at CLA, he tells us about all the new and interesting things he learns each day, including both boys are learning sign language and Spanish. They do art projects and go to different rooms like, gym, outside play, science room, and there is a picture paradise that’s some what like a news room where they can see themselves up on the big screen. The 2 year old also gets to go to different rooms, but mainly the teachers come to the younger classes, but they still get to go to gym and outside. My 2 year old is also thriving at CLA. I do not know what we would do without them. Confidence in a day care is a must for any parent. Highly recommended!

Facility is amazing however the service not so great! We signed our kids up prior to the facility being open (1 & 3 year old) we did the mistake of signing up and putting down our deposit before actually seeing how the environment is on its normal hours! So there goes $ 300 to hold both spots–
The first day we took our son (mind you it’s his first time in daycare) of course he cried however when I was walking him in, the class seemed outnumbered by kids, as well as there was another child crying. Assuming it was normal I left him and walked around the facility for a good 20 minutes then later left. I called 2 hours later and asked the status on how he’s doing and they said he was perfectly fine and participating.
As we picked him up he was crying, assuming it’s just bc it’s something he’s not use to. However when we noticed the same child crying from when we dropped him off, the teacher had said «OH HE ALWAYS CRIES» immediately I felt well isn’t it your job to make him stop or maybe comfort him? Then I thought what if that’s my child. So not wanting to get involved we left.
The 2^nd day as I walk him in the teacher immediately says did they tell you how long he cried yesterday? When I replied, no! She then began to tell me how he cried the entire time and at a point he threw up. Then as I asked what time, expressing I had called hours after and they assured me he was fine she had said he was throwing up as I was still there! This just threw me off and got me upset at the fact that it wasn’t brought to my attention! Having that it’s his first week I’m expecting to pick him up earlier, but when I called and they assured me everything was great I then allowed him to stay longer.
The 3^rd day as I walk him in his teacher again expresses to me how much he cried and wouldn’t stop! I then just started to have concerns mainly with the small things. Instead of a warm good morning greeting it was always «did they tell you how long he cried?» Realizing the small things made us realize it wasn’t the school we wanted him to take part in. So that was his last day!
Once speaking to the director it was then when we were told that he was in a higher class with older kids in which my son was a year behind.
We decided to go with a family based preschool that values our child’s needs versus a facility that we felt only valued the profit! Teachers at NorthShore are more personable and caring and just gave us warm vibes versus CLA!
Before you put down any deposits go in and observe!

I love CLA on Ann road. The staff is here to help in every way the can. And do a great job by doing it! The teachers love to give feedback on your child’s learning. The curriculum is top notch!!! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The last thing is I love the rules and policy of this amazing school!!!

!!!INFANT PARENTS BEWARE & $$$ DUMP!!! Upon sign up I filled out paperwork about what my child needs and what I want done. Within weeks my child gets home with a diaper rash (1 of 3). I said every diaper change apply ointment, CLA DID NOT! Then why the hell did I fill out paperwork! I spend my hard earned money to buy my child clothes, bibs, and sleeper covers, CLA SENDS OTHER CHILDRENS’ CLOTHES, BIBS, AND SLEEPER COVERS HOME WITH ME! Best of all, my child comes home with other baby’s bottles. All this was mentioned to the manager, and apology after apology after apology my child is being withdrawn and I am spending $ 265 a week somewhere else!
SPEAKING OF MONEY, if you want to take a 3 week vacation make sure you save 3 weeks of daycare expenses. ($ 265×3= $ 795 in addition to plane tickets, hotels, etc. WOW!!!) That’s right folks, if you want that warm and fuzzy that you child has the elusive SPOT held, then be ready to dish out money for every week your child isn’t there. Go down the street to lets say Le Petite Academy and they only charge you half tuition every week, NOW THAT’S CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My son has been through 3 daycares, this is the only one that my son wants to go back to. The staff is amazing, highly recommend.

PROS:
*Very nice facility. New, clean, organized, and is broken down between different levels and rooms of teachings.
*Location — close to our home
*Teachers & teacher’s aid are nice/​humble — see cons too
*Arts class/​teachings. Very creative art work made by our child :)
*Food provided, but see Cons (pro/​con to food provided). Parents don’t have to worry about cooking/​putting together a lunch, snacks or drinks, but…
*Play/​playground. Kids seem to enjoy their play areas.
CONS:
*Curriculum is sub-​par: «Brain Based» which seems interesting at first, but this place is a glorified day care facility.
*Teachers: Usually only 1 teacher. She doesn’t stay the entire day. Then, kids are with «teacher’s aid». They are nice, but definitely not teachers and lack a lot of education, communication, and training skills. Going back to… this is more of a day care type of facility. If you are looking to have your kids obtain a decent education based program, this place may not meet your expectations as it did not meet ours.
*Staff coordination, communication, and friendliness. Seems as though our children and their parents are treated as a number, especially with administrative staff.
*Not greatest environment for child napping — lights do not dim, other students awake and distributing other children needing to nap. If your child needs a nap and is sensitive to noise, you may want to reconsider or have an important conversation with the staff prior to enrollment. We had many conversations with admin staff/teacher/teacher’s aid before our child started napping every time.
*Spanish is only taught on certain days, but if your child is only attending certain days, you may want to coordinate those days with the type of curriculum they are teaching. I don’t want to get into too much detail here, but there was a lot of miscommunication regarding this and we were highly disappointed to see the lack of Spanish and sign language emphasis here as originally discussed prior to enrollment.
*Food-​kids have nut allergies therefore, kids do not get nuts and the nutritional content they do receive is sub-​par. Sometimes our child has come home to find out that she ate high glycemic foods only (pineapple, etc.). A bunch of sugars (fruit), carbs (cheese/​bread, etc.), etc. We liked the other school where we were able to control the food our child eats and knew if our child didn’t eat certain foods, etc. Not sure if they are good at creative ways to get children to eat their food/​snacks. Check out the meal menu they have, not the greatest choices.
*Tuition here is not very competitive and can be costly in comparison to other «schools». What parents pay in terms of teachers, education, etc. is not worth the cost. Don’t recommend this facility for parents for great emphasis to education prior to pre-​k, maybe for after school program or summer type of enrollment.

My daughter transferred for the Ann rd location to the Durango location for convenience purposes for my husband and I. The people working at both places were amazing with the transfer and even the District Manager is so hands on, caring and 100% customer service oriented, it’s unbelievable for a chaine daycare. I think this place should be called the Sheraton of daycare!!! Jeez!!! I wish I could spend all day in a luxurious place like this. My daughter loooves it!!! When we wake her up in the morning for school, she is actually excited to go!!! The most unbelievable thing is the price for all these amenities!!! The outside can discourage whoever would want to take their child there because it looks so good, but trust me, go check it out, these rates are given!!! I just love it!!! Excellent concept of daycare. I’d give it a 6^th star if I could.

The learning center is a great safe place taking care of your children’s needs after school.
