Me and my S.O. James go at least once a week! The sushi is as fresh as it gets and they always get it right! We usually get it to go as they are local for us but we have dined there on occasion. The interior is nothing to write home about but the sushi is fab and like I said, we usually get take-out. I would highly recommend it!

I have been to Tokyo Sushi II quite a few times over the past year and I have been thoroughly impressed every time. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the wait staff is kind and responsive. The waitresses serve oshibori(a warm hand towel for cleaning your hands before eating) which is a nice touch! The sushi often takes a little longer to be served than other restaurants but is well worth the wait — it is consistently artfully prepared and delicious. I have yet to try something on the menu that I don’t like and I try something new every time! The prices are also very reasonable. It’s a shame that the restaurant doesn’t seem to get much business. The location may deter would-be patrons as the shopping center is full of failed, long-closed businesses, but don’t let that fool you! Tokyo Sushi II is by far the best sushi restaurant in the area.

Coming from NYC, I don’t really trust raw fish from out of state places. So I decided to get a salmon teriyaki bento box that’s served with miso soup or green salad, california roll, fried shumai & rice($ 13.95). Everything was pretty standard. Their dressing for the salad is not the best I had. You get warm towels once you sit down. They even gave us free edamame, ice cream, and watermelon. Plus we had 10% off the bill for checking into Unilocal.Since I didn’t have any sushi, sashimi, or rolls, I can’t comment on that. But I do recommend this place if you’re in the area. Great hospitality.

Lunch at Tokyo 2 is great. This sushi/sashimi combo lunch comes with soup and salad. I’m usually in and out in 30 minutes. Perfect.

Best sushi in the area, ridiculously fresh and worth every penny. Baby yellowtail with jalapeño was incomparable to any other place I’ve eaten sushi. They are dedicated to their craft and its evident in flavor and presentation. Do yourself a favor and go there now, you will not be disappointed.

As a resident of North Haven and a sushi lover, I can tell you this is as good as it gets. Cordial service, serene atmosphere, and mouth-watering remarkably fresh sushi are all featured at Tokyo II. Dining here is nothing short of a pleasure and I highly recommend it!

Went late around 9pm and the hostess was happy to seat me even though I could tell they were winding down for the night and closing soon. The waitress was very attentive and friendly and joked with me a little. I got the pink lady roll and the 2006 roll. The pink lady was good and ingredients were fresh. It didn’t have the wow factor and reminded me other good sushi I’ve had in the past… nothing wrong with it just not standout sushi. The 2006 roll on the other hand… holy crud that was AMAZING! Never had sushi that good. The crunchy roll and the seasonings/sauce on there is top notch! Try it out if you go!

Can’t say enough great things about this place. Family friendly, high quality and great service! Not what you’d expect out of a strip small sushi spot.

Tokyo II never disappoints. The couple that owns this restaurant are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They have a wide variety of sushi and they also have tempura and noodle dishes on the menu as well. I like that they offer the option to make sushi with brown rice(not a lot of places provide that option). They are so much better than the other sushi place on Washington avenue. Don’t pass this place up. You’ll be missing out.

I love this place. Amazing sushi and the atmosphere is very calming and serene. It appears to be a family-owned business, with cute little girls watching tv at the sushi counter every time I go. It has charm! My favorite dishes to order are the sweet potato roll and the volcano roll. Very tasty!

We were headed home from a business trip and stopped in North Haven for dinner and we are o so glad to have found this place. It usually takes a good amount of sushi to fill me up but we were suggested just to get three rolls. I had my reservations but I complied. We ordered the Tornado, Santa Fe and Spicy Girl. All phenomenal(Tornado being the best) and the two of us were completely full. The ratio of quality food to the amount paid favors the customer drastically. I highly recommend this place.

Had high expectations but not quite the meal I was expecting. Although the food was«ehhh» the service and staff are great. Super courteous and attentive. The meal starts with warm wet towels and ends with watermelons! The 10% check in deal helps too. My family came for dinner and the food was average. We had the tempura udon, chicken teriyaki, a special roll and the sashimi deluxe. The udon was bland and tasted nothing like the Japanese udon I’ve had before. The chicken teriyaki and special roll were the better part of the meal — nicely flavored and the roll was generous with the fish and had light rice. The sashimi deluxe had a variety of sashimi pieces that were kind of thin and I didn’t get the feeling that all the fish were fresh. But props for presentation. I’ve never had my sashimi presented on ice which was kind of neat.

We had great fast service here. Everyone was so nice and accommodating to answer our questions and bring us food and drinks promptly. we even got a free little appetizer and dessert. They put up with us eating drinking and chatting for a while. They have a huge menu of sushi and rolls and it was all very good. we even got a cool plate decoration of hello kitty.

I make fun of my girlfriend when she eats sushi. «You know we discovered fire, right?» I purposefully time my remarks for that perfect moment when her mouth is full of raw fish. Because I don’t fight fair. So, since I didn’t get sushi, I decided to get the ugliest dish they had. Look at the pics. See that brown one? They call it Beef Don. I got it because every other entrée I’ve ever had placed in front of me was a work of art.(See Charlotte P.‘s pictures to see the sushi plates. Masterpieces.). Beef Don is tender beef and onions on a bed of rice; simple yet savory. As you can see, the worst looking dish still looks pretty damn good. The décor and service in Tokyo II is excellent as well. The wait staff is very attentive and they’ve succeeded at creating a very soothing environment. The miso soup is served with little ladles for spoons. For dessert I had Fried Tempura Ice cream which is hot, fried pastry wrapped around vanilla ice cream and dowsed with chocolate sauce. It’s like getting your belly rubbed by an angel. At the end they give you fresh pineapple and orange slices. Yes. Five stars.

This place is hidden in a plaza that is overdue for a facelift, however this book should not be judged by its cover! The sushi is fresh and the level of detail that is put into the preparation and plating of the sushi rolls is… perfection. Tokyo Sushi II is the place to go for lunch and/or dinner. A friend showed me this place and told me that it is some the best sushi that he has ever experienced. This is definitely on my sushi A-list. Suggestions: Spicy Girl, Blacken Tuna, and Tornado Roll

I’ve been trying local sushi places with the hopes of finding a gem. Well this place is quite literally a diamond in the rough. The plaza it’s in is barren and I wouldn’t have given two thoughts to this place had my coworker not recommended it highly. The special roll menu topped out at 39 rolls if memory serves me correct. Each and every one sounding more and more delicious. My coworker put it perfectly — pick the rolls with the ingredients you’d eat and it’s guaranteed to amaze and delight. My personal favorite was the volcano roll. Who knew panko crumbs could add such a phenomenal texture to sushi? Also to note — anything with deep fried in its description means it will arrive with the most perfect tempura crust you’ll ever come across. My mind is blown and my stomach was filled to the brim. Incredible detail to presentation and taste. It’s all spot on and the flavor combinations are amazing. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

One of the best if not the best sushi restaurants that I’ve been to! The fish is fresh and delicious and the presentation is breathtaking; simply stunning! I dined here with 2 of friends on Saturday and they also loved it. Be sure to check out some photos to see the artistry! Brought 2 of my coworkers here today, 2 days later to let them experience it and they are also fans. Thank you Tokyo Sushi II for being a cut above!
