I am not completely sold on this Mexican spot. I will say they are sooo fast. I usually stick with the burrito bowl or taco salad. This place doesn’t sell me, it’s like a quick fast food stop. They are really cheap and quick. Definitely check them out if you don’t have a lot of time but are feeling Mexican.

My favorite Mexican spot in Hampton roads! Their white sauce is the best! Their prices are so inexpensive! Their food is amazing and servings are HUGE! They have such a huge selection that it may take you a while to decide what to get, but it’s all great! Their lunch specials are so inexpensive, amazing, and they don’t skimp on size.

Love this place… lunch is alwahs fast, fresh, and very good. Great service. Oro Azteca competes very well with every Mexican restaurant I have been to around the country including California and Texas.

This place defies logic. Good food, fast, cheap. Usually you don’t get all three. The place is a bit cramped due to volume, but they usher folks in fast and out even faster. The greeter/cashier/“people herder” knows what you had down to the tax. Splitting checks is no problem at all for her. Any questions, refer to my very first sentence.

Went there with a buddy of mine and got a table right away! Great customer service and servers know what they are doing! The food was also pretty amazing and not too expensive! Thank you so much and we will absolutely keep coming back

The husband and I were very happy to make this place our first meal upon arriving in the Norfolk area. We just moved to Norfolk — from Texas via Florida — and we dearly missed having good, simple Mexican food served by nice people on really hot plates. Oro Azteca isn’t much from the outside, but the food is solid, the service is fast and friendly and the restaurant itself is comfortable and clean. We came around 7pm on a Saturday night and were promptly seated. Our food came out within about 7 – 8 minutes of our order and our waters were kept filled throughout the night. I ordered the Enchilda Supreme, which is sampling of four enchiladas(beef, chicken, cheese and bean) with lettuce and tomato. Their enchilada sauce is nice and thick and they don’t bury their delicious food in too much cheese(a critical error that too many Mexican places make). The meat enchiladas were stuffed full, no fillers. My husband had the Tacos de Carne Asada and was completely pleased with the fresh cilantro and onion and fresh limes that were served alongside.

One of the better Mexican resturants in Norfolk. Always fast food and good taste. They’re not skimpy on the meat in any of the dishes. Always great eating lunch here.

Food is great and the service is amazing. The food came out in little to no time and all the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Great authentic mexican cuisine for an even better price.

The food here is amazing; the prices are great, and the service is always excellent. My only complaint is that the salsa is too hot for me. If you’re a person who loves hot salsa, then you’ll love this place!

Don’t get my 3 star rating wrong, Oro Azteca is good food for a good price. I’ve been here a couple times now, and never really been disappointed. But for Mexican food to «wow» me, there will have to be a little something more than just your run-of-the-mill menu and service. It’s seriously good though, like, I want to eat here just about every week. One thing I’m personally not a fan of is the ranchero sauce… Eh, never had it before coming to Hampton Roads and I can definitely do without. This last time their salsa was also on the really spicy side, so the nachos weren’t as big of a hit as they usually are with me.(My nickname in high school was«Nacho,» I love the things) I ordered a #7 lunch special(trying to get some extra veggies in my dish) and it was pretty tasty. Not bad for around 5 – 6 bucks. Service was also really fast, love that. The bathrooms need to be updated badly, though– when I sat down, I thought that toilet was going to wobble right off the floor. Otherwise– its a fun place to grab a bite of cheap Mexican food. Which is exactly what I’ll do again, very soon.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Some may say it’s generic and you may be right but we can’t get enough of it. The wait staff is always friendly. We get our chips, salsa, & that fabulous white sauce first thing, then drinks are up, we order, and no joke in under 10 minutes we have our meals. You can’t go wrong with the chicken chimichangas!

Just ate here again and it was bad. I had carnitas and the pork was rubbery and smelled awkward. Can’t describe it better, it was just weird. I only had a couple bites.

There were three of us when we visited Ora Azteca. We all had mixed opinions of the food. Thus, I’ve decided to give it three stars since there really was no raving over the food but we were satisfied. The server was efficient but a little cool. I guess being efficient is more important than too friendly. I thought the chicken taco salad was very good. One of us had a combination and another had the cheese enchiladas. They both agreed they were good but definitely not the best ever. We would return if in the area and hungry for Mexican food but wouldn’t necessarily search it out.

Alright I’m back and bumping this up to five stars because it has been one of my favorites for a long time now. I tried something new this time, enchiladas supreme. Very very good, this was the first time I deviated from the chicken fajitas. I used to live in Norfolk, and was glad to make it here when I was visiting. Their frozen margaritas are reason enough alone to come here… they’re a beautiful green color, tasty, and potent! If you order the large one, you will be half shithoused when you leave here. Anyways this is one of the best restaurants in town. Was great to be back and I again look forward to coming back.

The family and I found ourselves over in the area recently on the way back from Williamsburg and desperately needing gasoline and lunch. Got gas at WaWa and decided to stop in here for lunch. We were greeted and seated promptly and overall the service was good. As for the food, it was a fairly mixed bag of reviews from the family. I had tacos de carne asada, which were quite good. Plenty of beef, tortillas, and cilantro/onions. I quite enjoyed them(see picture). My wife had chicken tacos and was less than thrilled. They weren’t bad, they just weren’t her favorite. My son had the choripollo, with the chicken, cheese, and chorizo all separate. The chicken was a little bland as far as flavor was concerned but the chorizo was good. The cheese dip was the standard white cheese dip, nothing new there. He didn’t love it either(wasn’t as good as his favorite place) but ate most of it. My youngest son had two cheese quesadillas, which again were standard but he ate them up happily. To summarize, nothing about this place stood out above any of your other Mexican restaurants in the area. The menu had the same items and the place looked similar. It didn’t dazzle us but I am a Mexican food junkie and am pretty happy with most of it. So, I’d definitely go back for the dish I had and can see trying it again. The review is probably really 3.5 stars but because it didn’t do anything beyond the usual fare, I am going to round it down to A-OK.

This place is just like El Azteca on little creek! I like the white and red sauce with the warm chips. The fajita burrito amd fajita nachos are my favorite! The nachos have soo much cheese. It is Great! The service is perfect as usual. Not usually disappointed at this establishment.

Oh yes. This right here is my spot for Mexican if I’m close to Hampton Blvd. It’s in a building that used to be Pizza Hut, directly across from Navy Federal. They serve a mean lunch special and STAY busy. You’ll see lots of Military, DoD and Longshoremen packed up in here for lunch. It’s sparsely decorated, but I ain’t there for the scenery. Well not that kind of scenery *wink* It’s clean and the service is good and fast. I mean FAST! I get the hard tacos with shredded beef, taco salad with beef tips ###you must get the beef tips in your taco salad, comprende?!### chimichangas, and fajitas. They also have a delicious burrito, similar to the San Jose burrito, for those who are familiar with it, but it’s not called the San Jose. It has chicken and pork in it, with bubbling hot white cheese sauce running down the middle… yummy! Love this place. I’m a regular here. And the sweet tea tastes like a Southern Grandmother made it! Sweet and fresh, just like I like it!

This oro azteca is very busy during the lunch hour so I ordered by phone and picked my food up in person, the cashier was very courteous. The food was delicious Perfectly seasoned and very Very well proportioned for the price. Oro Azteca will be my new lunch break eatery can’t wait to try everything on the menu!
