I have been to this location on several occasions, and feel it’s high time I actually write a glowing review on this particular fast food eatery! Well, as many of you know who frequent your local Chick-fil-a, they seem to try to hold a higher standard of protocol in treatment of their customers with honey to the ear phrases like, «my pleasure» and«I would be HAPPY to» and«is there anything else I can do for you». This Chick-fil-a also seems to follow suit, and does a beautiful job of it! Lunch hour seems a bit hairy with customers coming in and out at the speed of light… but no worries, the staff can handle the volume! They are efficient, they are pleasant, they do an excellent job of making sure each customer leaves happy, and we have never had an issue their nor a wrong order! The food is enjoyably good, as always, and we left with smiles on our faces and wanting to return next we had a Chick-fil-a craving! The location is great, being right downtown off Monticello, and they always seem to keep their eatery impeccably clean(including their bathrooms, which we are entirely grateful for!). I haven’t been to many fast food places that can surpass Chick-fil-a! However, if ever I do, I will definitely be Unilocaling about it for the world to read about :)

I’ve only had great experiences when here. The staff has always been friendly and the service fast. Their food is always hot and the place is extremely clean. You can’t go wrong.

I really like this Chick-fil-A, but man-olé-man the lines can be ridiculously long during lunch hours(both inside and at the drive-thru). They try to get you in and out quickly, but I found the best time to go for lunch is around 11:00 and 11:30AM just before the noon rush. The restaurant is clean, the staff… friendly, and you get your food hot. What more is there to say?

I’m not really into fast food but this place has an amazing Cobb salad that I discover last year. Between this location and the one on military hwy. this one for sure is the best, service is always fast. Place clean, and plenty of parking. I did order today the Greek yogurt, which was good but for the size not worth the $ 3. My kids love their grill chicken sand.

Always great service, this location is one of the cleanest stores I have ever seen. Service is fast, the staff at CFA are very friendly and the food what’s not to like. This place is better than Doumars and probably Cookout I’d say, but a good ice cream shake can be found at Cookout, 40DIFFERENT flavors.

Went thru the drive thru yesterday for breakfast. Customer service was great! Beyond Chick Fil A standards in my opinion. The Chicken Burrito wrap was by far the freshest and best I have ever had from a Chick Fil A. Sweet Tea as well. I can’t stand the inconsistent taste at some Chick Fil A’s. I hope this one keeps up with its great taste.

Visited the Monticello location last night February 28 customer service was nice and friendly. My order was correct. The restaurant was clean. I will visit again it’s one of the two Chic-fil-a locations that I have visited. I’ve always experienced good customer service at the one on Military highway as well. Enjoy!

This was a valuable and very good pickup for The City of Norfolk! The Monticello corridor has been reinventing itself the past several years with new construction. There’s the new behemoth sized HRT Headquarters, four consecutive blocks(from 14th to 18th streets) of newly constructed multi-storied housing residences, a remodeled factory that now houses a One Life Fitness Gym, a Cookout, and now this sparkly new gem in the form of a Chic-Fil-A restaurant. Located off of Monticello Ave., nestled between 16th and 17th streets, this Chic-Fil-A serves an area that’s about a mile north of downtown Norfolk and 20 yards east of Ghent, lol(and that’s if you consider Monticello to be the extent of Ghent’s reach. Everything to the right of Monticello is NOT considered Ghent). Ahhh, who doesn’t love the technicalities, right? So anyway, what you’ll notice right away when you arrive is that this building is one handsome jewel! I mean, it really stands out compared to the other restaurants that form a cluster on this stretch of Monticello. The builders did an awesome job on the façade making it look like it belonged in an urban setting versus something you’d see near one of these suburban malls. The outdoor seating area is beautiful and there’s a play area for the kids as well. Parking is abundant. Inside, I was struck with how big the place was. Of course, being new construction, everything looks great. The tile, the tables, the walls, the décor, Chic-Fil-A really paid attention to the details and nailed it. I ordered my usual number one combo with the Polynesian sauce and the food tasted great. It was hot and fresh which lends itself as to why CFA is one of my favorite fast food places to visit. One of the main things that I value most about Chic-Fil-A is their customer service. If there was anything about this location that I would say isn’t quite up to par yet with the CFA standard, this is it. From my own personal experience, I wasn’t treated rudely but I could detect a small amount of indifference in the staff. Once you grow accustomed to a certain level of service, you tend to notice when things aren’t quite«clicking». I want to attribute this to management style and the fact that the store is still relatively new. Sometimes«expansion teams» take a minute to develop chemistry. Aside from that, this is a great place and a VERY welcomed addition to the city!

I’ve been here on several occasions and have been very unhappy, but today was better than usual. Likely because there was a manager behind the counter. Normally there are three or four people«working» behind the counter, but not actually doing anything but avoiding eye contact so they don’t have to refill your drink. It always appears there are more staff dining than actually working, but not today. I think the problem is they hire the same shitty people from McDonalds and get the same shitty work ethic when management isn’t holding their hand. Just kind of disappointing when you go somewhere because of the customer service(and awesome chicken) and get the same shitty service you’d get at a WacArnolds.

Great service. Clean restaurant. Seems like they’ve ironed out the opening jitters other people have complained about in other reviews. Visit here and you’ll get the same great Chick-fil-a experience you always get.

At first, I was excited about the Chick-Fil-A opening in Ghent, so I didn’t have to drive out to Military hwy to get a delicious chicken sandwhich. Unfortunately, that is not the case with this particular Chick-Fil-A. The chicken sandwhich tasted bland and gamey and on multiple times I was refused a refill on my drink. They have two lanes installed at the drive through, however only one of them is used. Typically there is a long wait time and consistent horrible customer service. I’m fed up! I recommend going to Cook Out next door and try their Cajun Chicken Sandwhich. You get more value for $ at Cook Out. If your really craving Chick-Fil-A, it’s worth the drive to Military Hwy location.

Worst Chick Fil-A experience Horrible LOWER management customer service with a bad attitude and highly unprofessional. Ruined our experience. I will not spend money here anymore. Some parts of the grilled chicken tasted undercooked. If you’re really craving some Chick Fil-A though, I recommend the military highway location as an alternative. They have better customer service and the food tastes better. Just make sure you check the bag before driving off.

Of all the chickfila’s I have been to this one is the worst. Especially if that young girl tiara serves you, she has gotten my order wrong twice in a row now, and tries to rush through the process. The chicken itself is not as good as other cfa’s either. I’ve gotten very fatty pieces on multiple occasions; which leads me to believe those preparing the chicken are negligent.

So I was very excited for a chick-fil-A to be opening up in Ghent. It has to be one of the greatest chains to date. With that said this does not come close to their standard. I had to wait in line behind three employees that just got off shift while the cashier gossiped with every single one. Meanwhile, another employee was using the service counter as her table for eating, opening her sandwich and spreading condiments while gossiping with the manager. So I ordered my meal and a shake and sat down. Food comes out five minutes later. I wait till the 15 min mark and still no shake. I go up to ask what was the hold up and they forgot about the shake and they assure me it will be out quick. So I sit down and wait 5 more min, god forbid I have to remind them again. 10 min pass and I go up to complain, and they forgot again… Embarrassed, they quickly make the shake and instead I ask for my money back. Overall these employees treat this establishment like it is their own lounge, placing themselves before the customer. Go anywhere else to be treated as a customer

After going to the Chick-fil-a out on Military Highway anytime the cravings hit, it was such a crazy surprise that they opened one up around the corner in Ghent without any fanfare! They’re in the classic fast-food corner on Monticello, but the run down alternatives make this place look like a 5 star restaurant. They have a great outdoor eating area that you notice when you first pull up. They also have a new play-place for kids(they seemed to be enjoying it?). Overall, the feel of this location is more modern than others that I’ve seen, with faux wood walls and a tv screen over the condiments. I came around 1pm on a weekday and they were pretty packed so the line was about 5+ minutes to order, but the food came out in less time than the line! The food was as you would expect and the employees were fine(mostly neither extremely friendly or too dull). The floor manager came around and offered refills at the table, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, 5⁄5 stars is all relative to a fast-food restaurant, but I thought this place surpassed my chick-fil-a expectations! Of course they have a drive through and an individual parking lot. I’m guessing I’ll be making a lot more visits here in the not too distant future…
