Went back last evening and burger was excellent! Very flavorful. Again, still serving the very good steak fries. Son had the chicken, broccoli and penne which was very good, as well! Kelly, our server, was very attentive, pleasant and accommodating. Very comfortable local spot.

The place used to be better before they redid the menu. It’s still good but don’t expect an great meal it’s mediocre. The last few times I’ve gotten a salad the cheese has been stale and the chicken cold. It has a great big bar which is sometimes busy.

I often worry about places that AREN’T crowded on a Saturday night. When we found an hour-plus wait at our first choice spot, I Unilocaled the area and found Mick’s. We arrived and were seated immediately(7:30 on a Saturday night! What!?!). Greeted by a fantastic waitress offering us drinks! Don’t miss the fried pickles! They are fantastic. My party stuck to pretty standard fare(burgers, corned beef, curry, etc) which were all done to everyone’s liking. No James Beard awards here, but no one sent anything back.

I’m here in Newton for work and have been struggling to find a good place to eat for a few days. Mick Morgan’s has EXCELLENT food. My boss had the shepherds pie and I had the Veggie wrap and it was better than expected. This place is more than just a bar.

Service is amazing. Sat at the bar on a Friday night and we were really taken care of. We were waited on right away. Our drinks were excellent and strong. The appetizers we ordered were good and came fast. We had the popcorn chicken and the ultimate nachos. More than enough for 2 people to split. The blueberry smash was great and so was the watermelon margarita.

MM’s did a great job with the birthday party my friend hosted there for her husband’s 50th birthday. We had the whole section off to the side, and the staff did a great job keeping the food coming out and letting people who were seated know what was coming out(which was great, since when you are seated and chatting, you often miss the food). Fred was the manager we met on Saturday night, and he was extremely helpful(thanks Fred!!!). They also allowed her to bring in a cake, which many places won’t do. She brought all the plates and forks for that which helped to keep down the amount of dishes and make the clean-up easy. My first time at Mick Morgan’s, but I will definitely go back. Lots of parking too, which is a bonus in Newton.

Well, the trend of bad Boston-area food continues. I come here quite often due to it being so close to my house in Newton, but I’m done. I usually get the burger, because well, NOONE can screw up a burger. Or can they? I’m almost afraid to try after I sent my first meal back to the kitchen in 15 years. I ordered their Roast Beef & Cheddar Panini. It has a «fancier» name, but since it doesn’t deserve it, I won’t try to track it down. It was not a panini. It was 2 pieces of roast beef, one weak piece of sliced cheddar, a sandwich spread of horseradish/mayo, and a few«sauteed» onions… wait for it… on 2 slices of overly-buttered and under-toasted Texas Toast. My first beer was flat(end of keg), my second(technically 1st) beer was normal. I, for the first time in 15 years, sent my food back and received a charred«well-done» burger as its replacement. I asked for it, of course, because I just wanted to get the heck out. Not to mention, I had to wait there for another 20 minutes for a «BURGER»! During this time, I got to hear an amazing old man tell his daughter that she was a bitch for«being a bitch» to her Honda dealership guys over a noise she created in her head. ha! No one talks to you. They just wander around. I overheard the only other waitress there tell aforementioned rude old man that the new beers are«Girlie» beers. He asked if she said, «German» and she proudly explained that they were«Girlie». Awesome. I’m at the point in my stay in Boston where I will just make my own food. What a joke. There is ZERO«Hospitality» in the«Hospitality Industry» in this passive-aggressive little city of Boston. P. S. — It is simply a lack of Pride. This place is not special. It is endemic to Boston. Cambridge side of the River gets it. I have a great picture of my Roast Beef Blah-Blah Panini, but cant find a way to upload it. I assume I cannot in a review, but look through Mick Morgan’s pics and you’ll find it. Hilarious.

My boyfriend and I went to eat here around 9 at night on a weekday, because we read that it was open late. When we walked in, there were only people at the bar, and not many, so we were wondering whether or not the kitchen was still open. I’m not 21 so we could not sit at the bar. We stood for about 5 minutes, the bartender saying nothing to us, no hostess, waitresses walking by us without greeting us. I finally had to track a server down and ask if we could still eat. No one was friendly here, so I’m not sure what that was about. I didn’t think 9 was a ridiculous hour to be eating out, especially for a «pub». The service was not amazing, but the reason I can give this place two stars is because of the food. I got a buffalo wrap that was okay. However, I probably wouldn’t come back, because I’d rather go somewhere where I am acknowledged when I walk in.

I’ve always been pleased here. Very good draft list with a fair amount of craft brew and decent bar food. I particularly like their buffalo chicken wrap and the fries are good — thick but crispy, enough salt. Plenty of TV’s to watch sports — including golf, which i appreciate because I’m an adult loser who really enjoys watching it. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Not much else in this area for bars so Mick Morgan’s gets it done!

Mick Morgan’s is my boyfriend and my go-to when we are looking to grab a drink but stay local. The staff is friendly and the food is good. There is always something going on there, such as trivia, live music, karaōke, etc.

We ordered the half priced apps — Buffalo quesadillas, nachos, and fried clams. It was bad — both the food and service. The fried clams were primarily breaking but it was the nachos that were terrible. Burnt cheese with a few sad jalapeños is Mick Morgan’s definition of nachos. Really I should have stayed home and eaten Tostitos with store bought salsa and guacamole and it would have been better. The kicker for the night was when the bill came and we were charged full price for the half priced apps. When we pointed this out to her server her reaction was«yeah I charged full price» and that was it until we told her to make them half price. No sorry that was a mistake. She acted offended that we pointed that out and asked for the half price or what was originally promised by the restaurant.

Shepards pie is great! I went here with a few coworkers, and they did mention that the menu used to have better ‘authentic’ options. They want bangers and mash back! Overall, good comfort food and decent beer selection.

This is an awesome Irish restaurant/bar located on Needham St. with easy parking. It’s a great place to hang out after work, and they have amazing finger foods like fried pickles and nachos. They’ve got a couple of beers on tap, but you should try the summer strawberry shandy they have. It’s only $ 3– such a good deal and it’s refreshing. The waiters are also pretty nice, but sometimes a little slow with bringing over our beers. I feel like one side is more for families/kids, and the other side is a bar for adults.

McMorgan’s is a great neighborhood pub that is definitely popular with the after-work crowd. The place is larger than you’d expect from a tiny strip of stores in suburban USA. There is a huge bar, a few high-boy tables, and regular booths and tables in the dining rooms. The décor is a bit kitschy — «olde tyme» wood signs with funny sayings all over them — but the overall ambiance is what a pub should have: dark wood, warm lighting, sports on TV, and the chatter of patrons. As many other reviews mention, the staff here is ridiculously friendly, and you will have at least one Irish waitress working while you’re there! They’re very attentive at the bar, even when it gets busy. If you want food, they’ve got that, too. I usually get their appetizers, but the burgers are pretty damn good if you want a real meal. There are also daily events, like Karaōke and Trivia, if you like that kind of thing! The only bad thing I can say about the place is that the parking is awful, especially after work. The lot is far too small and gets crowded far too easily.

This pub is amazing. Ask for john to make you a drink. Trust in him and you can never go wrong… John is a mixologist on I different level. They make there own gin, tequila, and whiskey infusions. Some of the best mixed drinks I have had in a long while. So don’t just come in and order a cheap beer. Be adventures and trust in john!

The food was surprisingly good and portions were huge. It was our first time here and a couple actually stopped at our table on their way out to recommend some options. The highlight was the manager. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The manager offered to get us drinks from the bar while we waited, and we didn’t refuse. That was super nice. I don’t know his name, but the guy was everything you think a manager should be. On the mark for everything. The place itself is good size but seems like alot of empty space. I can’t help but think they could squeeze more tables in. It gets crowded. Parking was kind of a mess because the lot is shared, and it was also a Friday night.
