McDonald’s

This place serves heart attacks. But don’t worry, it’s ok because it is all served with a smile…

I have it a 2 because the manager is actually polite. But, as usual, you can’t get a hello back from anyone else. Oh, but fast food restaurant employees want to make $ 15 an hour? Haha!
The fun thing to do is to say hello, ask how their day is, and wait for a drugged out, mumbled noise. Not a reply, just a noise. Like a grunt. Then watch as they crack up with their countrymen.
Again, much respect the the manager on duty. I’m sure he has to deal with a lot of grief from his employees.

This McDonalds location is pretty good.
–1 star because their zip code to the store is 2 464. Not 2 158 like the receipts, or 2 458 like their website. Yikes. Same issue with California St location.
The manager is SO friendly and helpful though… I was really ANNOYED that this place has NO DRIVE THRU!!! Well, the city of Newton doesn’t allow drive thru restaurants (in my opinion that is stupid! Plus the California St location has a drive thru). Overall, good restaurant and fine (average) food… Just like every other McDonalds. Wendys is better, and they have a drive thru, but convenience always wins! Plus the manager wanted to add a drive thru and they were denied! Yikes.

I have never gone to this McDonald’s and have them get the order right the first time. The management seems ambivalent to customer service and they are rather argumentative. Even though this macs is the closest to my home lately I have been driving to the one in West Roxbury

Rude, slow, no drive through … Go elsewhere. I was there at 10:15 am when it was quiet. I ordered a mc muffin and iced decaf coffee. I told the girl making the coffee to please make sure it was decaf. She barked at me and told me that’s not what the order said! (which is why I always politely tell them again I need decaf). She abruptly walked over to one of the managers, had a word with her, then the manager thanked her profusely for making another coffee since she had already made a regular one. There were at least 3 management people in earshot at the time.
Seriously?!
To top it off, she plunked it down on the counter and said you’re welcome to me under her breath as she walked away before I could say anything. Grow up! Your customer didn’t key in her order wrong your manager did ! There are plenty of other choices in this area that I will select in the future.

No drive thru. I rarely, rarely go here because they have no drive thru service. I would rather poke myself in the eye than spend extra time going inside especially when in a hurry. Until they get a drive thru I don’t think I will be returning. Don’t they know that is seriously detrimental to their financial situation? C’mon Newton, get with the times.
Plus they are expensive and charge extra for seemingly everything. The manager gets angry if you take a few extra napkins. What a jerk, the way he yells at his employees.

I’m not a huge fast food fan — maybe eating it four times a year — but I can even tell that this McDonald’s isn’t a very good one. Half the time I’ve been there to get my fiancé dinner, the soda fountain doesn’t work, the fries aren’t crispy, and the staff speaks so quietly I’m not sure if they have all of my order down correctly.
Also had to take away a star for not having a drive-​thru. We Americans are lazy! We want a drive-​thru, and this is probably the first and only McDonald’s I’ve ever been to that didn’t have one!

These are some of the slowest people I have ever seen. Go to dunkin across the street.

The staff here are very helpful. Not all are always friendly, which can be the case everywhere… but for more fast food restaurants I’ve been to, the staff is much more friendly than most.
This McDonalds would love to have a drive-​thru, the city of Newton won’t allow it. They had a petition a year and a half ago for Newton residents to try and get a drive thru allowed. I have no idea how it turned out, but as of 3÷14÷12, they are closed for remodeling. Maybe the city caved in, but given the stuck up nature of Newton, I doubt it.
So, don’t put blame on the restaurant or MCDonalds for not offering a drive thru, it’s out of their hands.

This place misses out on good helpful staff and also a shake machine that works.
Pass this place up and find another one down the road. Not worth the stop. No drive thru. Manager was NOT happy to be there and no shake machine.

Why does this location not have a drive-​thru? Isn’t that what McDonald’s is all about?
I’m actually thankful that it doesn’t though, because it’s right around the corner from my office and I know I’d be tempted to grab lunch there when I’m in a rush if it meant I didn’t have to get out of the car.

Hey It’s Micky D’s What can I say. Big Mac Combo Meat Still a Classic.
Unfortunately This location doesn’t have a Drive Thru.

According to Fast Food Nation they cut so much of the cow apart and so fast that the some of the digestive track usually gets cut up in the meet in fast food places especially like McDonalds, so they have to put things in it to sterilize it. So the next time your sitting down eating your Big Mac and you say to yourself, «Hey what is that special ingredient that makes it so good?» you know now… its crap and fantastic. Good news about the fries too, they actually dehydrate them and add fat to them to make them taste so good, then they cook them once in oil and freeze them, then they cook em again right before you eat em just to make sure they are the most unhealthy things you could ever put in your body.

McDonald’s is McDonald’s, except when it’s in Newton. 2 things to note about this particular establishment:
1) No drive-​thru
2) Their prices are higher than other suburban McDonald’s, including the ones on the Pike. Probably $ 1 – 2 bucks more per combo meal than average.
They do, however, have Shamrock Shakes in March. :)
