Was looking for a place to eat lunch with my husband at Nye Beach and we stopped in here. Tiny little place, but it was empty around 2pm so we had seating. We split the portabello mushroom sandwich — it was huge! Plenty for two to share. Also had one of their cupcakes which was delicious. Employees were super friendly and the food was great. Couldn’t ask for much better.

We stopped for latte and ended up having red pepper soup which was delicious. Latte a bit strong for what were used to and we b bought a sour dough leaf to go with the soup. Lost of customers in and out while we were there. Pizza and bakery were popular.

Great pastries, breads, shortbread and cinnamon rolls as big as dinner plates lol. Would have given it five stars if they had had turkey to make our sandwiches at noon time :(staff was not as friendly as other places but i wont’ knock them for that after one visit. We went back here a couple times during our stay.

Service was a little rough. NOTE: They’re cash only. Scone and latte were ok, pizza was ok… Everything was ok.

Went to the shop to grab a panini, since it is the Panini Bakery. There was no menu with a panini on it that I could see. Saw some cold pizza in a counter window and thought I would order a slice. Surely they warm it up or something. After 10 minutes of waiting at the counter unacknowledged while 4 – 5 employees proceeded to do everything but help customers just feet away from us, we had to repeat our order three times to the cashier. They did not warm the pizza. How much is a slice of cold pizza? 5.00! There were tables open but nowhere to sit since every single table was dirty. The place was filthy in general. I was so disappointed.

When I’m in Newport and feeling like a cup of coffee and a pastry or cookie, if the Panini Bakery is closed I get very sad. The food is wholesome, and I can’t leave without a small loaf of their amazing bread.

Excellent coffee. Had an Americano and breve. Both were awesome. They make granola in house that is so yummy. Small and quaint with a European feel. Worth the drive off the beaten path.

Where did the awesome cinnamon rolls go??? This is a standard stop for a lot of our friends, and we were excited to have the yummy rolls. But no longer. Still a great spot for some bread loaves, but not certain I would make the trek just for the remaining pastries.

Stumbled upon this place. A bakery with some sammy options. Few tables. Friendly folks. Ordered a BLT. Sat outside on their perch with a big cup of tea(me) and blueberry lemonade(the hubs). As it turns out their BLT is thick, sweet bacon sandwiched with ooozie goozie BRIE and avocado on crunchy, soft, light french bread. Quite the delightful surprise… it was terrific.

I happened to be vacationing a couple days along the coast and was looking for pizza. I didn’t need a pizza chain and wanted something a little more local grown. I used the often trusty Unilocal app and this place pops up in Nye beach. Has decent reviews and it’s close to where I am. Unilocal guides me and upon arriving it looks like it might be a quaint little pizza shop with handmade freshness. The menu is a bit all over the map and a customer isn’t quite sure where to look on the wall or above the counter or??? So I ask the nice woman behind the counter and she’s pretty helpful. We end up getting a slice each and bottled sodas. The seating is extremely limited and if your party is more than 2 you can almost forget about eating in. I was there around noon on a dreary Monday. The place was full of neckbearded hipsters drinking coffee and reading books. So basically a guy comes in, like the losers that hang in Starbucks all day, orders a mocha latte with soy milk of some BS like that and reads a book for 6 hours. Nothing against the hippster crowd but get off your latte drinkin ass and get a job. You’re cloggin up the flow of actual business and paying customers. While there, I actually saw 3 different couples go in and walk out because the coffee sloths were chillin and there was no place to sit. NOTE: Owner(s) the coffee crowd is making higher paying customers walk out the door. I don’t know how you can’t see it? On to the pizza slices. When it arrived at my freezing cold outdoor table it was decent. Nice flavor but while eating it, it became hard, stiff, and crunchy. The bottled coke was good though. Since were were freezing our butts off we made haste, ate, and scrammed. Not the worst hole in the wall and I have a deep appreciation for small business start ups that want to offer delicious fare. But you have to focus on a few things first; Quality & Taste, Specializing(dump the coffee crowd) in pizza, sandwiches, and breads(be known for that first), Service, and spotless cleanliness.

I visit Newport a few times a year and thought there are many things I like in this town, the only two things I must do every time I’m here is go to the beach and eat at panini’s. It is simply my favorite bakery in Oregon. The service is always good, even when they’re slammed, and they often are. Every time I try something new I’m impressed. Truly lovely food and lovely people.

Stopped in in the evening for dinner on the run. Should have scoured the Unilocal page more before just showing up. No sandwiches after 4 and the one cold and rubbery looking pizza wasn’t cutting it for us. Decided to get coffee since the place looks like a coffee shop first, sandwich place sometimes and pizza as an after thought. Ordered a 12 oz latte for 350 got .50 back and tipped. Oops. Despite being the only ones in the place I guess the drink order was never turned in as the blond making the drinks appeared to be making a drink but eventually she asked the cashier«what are they waiting for» to which, I responded, a latte. Since my ride was in a hurry and this was not a planned stopped I just asked for my cash back to which I received 3.50. Hope you keep the change and make some as well.

Excellent breads, pastries and other baked goods. Panini was a ‘must stop’, whenever we visited or passed through Newport. I loved the funky vibe of this small bakery(and loved shopping at Jovi, next door). But Panini, your customer service is awful: no one greets you when you walk in the shop, you’re ignored as you step to the counter to place an order — but don’t take it personally, as every customer and potential customer is equally ignored. Two parties walked out as we were waiting. Please do some modest customer service training, Panini. We love your product — but we can’t take the bad service!

I have to first off say that the girl working offered the friendliest service I have ever seen anywhere. Beyond that the food was amazing. They offer a small number if sandwiches(6 I believe), pizza, breads & pastries. They also have coffee, tea, juice & smoothies We both got the eggplant sandwich which was huge! I only are half because to me it was a full size sandwich. You are able to order ½ sizes but I didn’t know how big it would be. We also tried tomato soup which was very good too. Seating is lunettes to 3 two person tables & a bar with a few chairs. This place is a gem. I’d definitely frequent often if I lived in the area.

Adorable little coffee shop with the most delectable assortment of sweet and savory baked goods! We come to Nye Beach every other year, but I’d come here all the time if it was in Eugene! They have the most delicious baked goods! Their spinach parmesan roll was so good, could’ve used more salt, but it was very good! their danish’s are amazing, so flaky and buttery with the sweetness of their apricot filling making you forget everything else that’s going on. They even have pizza in the morning in case you’re like me, and feel you must indulge in pizza first thing in the morning. Their coffee is quite nice, and I especially enjoy their americano’s! Located right by all the cute little shops in Nye Beach, I’d suggest arming yourself with an americano, a pastry and hit the shops!

A delicious break from typical franchise fare. I was wandering Nye Beach looking for something that would offer a bit of local flavor for lunch when I stumbled across the Panini Bakery. First I looked at the menu across the street at the, uh, unique establishment on the corner(I’m sure it’s fine food over there, but I didn’t want any hemp milk with my late lunch, if you know what I mean…) so I was relieved to find this little bakery offering food I actually recognized and felt like eating. The pizza is $ 5 a slice, which seems a bit steep. But, one slice makes a meal and it is quite tasty. I lunched for under $ 10, all-in. I had the sausage/pesto. Paulina the Friendly Panini Bakery Pizza Girl crafted a delicious and refreshing strawberry, banana, and OJ smoothie for me which she served up topped with whipped cream in a mason jar. Paulina customized orders for several customers while I was there, removing onions from slices before heating, offering recommendations, wrapping to-go orders in foil, and generally treating people with kindness and respect. I get the impression this place has a reputation for their pastries as there was a steady stream of people coming in looking for treats on the nearly empty shelves. «If you’re in town tomorrow be sure to get in early for the pastries,» offered Paulina, «On busy days we run out.» The place is small with limited seating inside and a few small tables out in entryway. There’s flour dust on the walls and fixtures and a yellowed piece of tape over a couple of light switches with the words«keep on» or some such thing scrawled on it in marker. There are several framed photographs on the wall of local scenes, each labeled with«#NoFilter» and ranging in price from around $ 50 to $ 100 each. I liked the photos but I would have probably tweaked the contrast a bit on most of them in Lightroom… making them ineligible for the #NoFilter label in the process, I suppose… :) All in all, Panini Bakery offers a great atmosphere for a privately owned restaurant in a small beach-front community. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m at Nye Beach. Maybe I’ll even get there early enough for pastries and breakfast fare!

Great pizza and great staff. Get a pizza made to go. The pizza is way better fresh but just as good either way. Plan on getting some desserts or treats. Great place to get a loaf of bread for bread bowls! Joe is the man in back killing it. Highly recommended Newport place to go.

I want to love love love Panini but they make it so hard. Until recently, they had irregular hours and I stopped here three times with my boyfriend to find it closed. FINALLY they changed their hours to 7 – 7 everyday. I dragged my boyfriend out here at noon on a Tuesday, raving about what I’d had last time only to find it CLOSED. There was a sign on the door that said something like«closed for staff meeting, see you next time.» What? Seriously? No «come back at 1pm» or something? Couldn’t have the staff meeting off hours? What the hell? A few days before, I’d come in with my mom because I had a gift certificate. We ordered a spinach and cheese scone, a ham and cheese croissant and a cinnamon roll, plus two lattes. The coffee is incredible. Strong, hot, delicious. The pastries were to die for. Good god, the croissant with a little roll of ham and cheese baked inside was the best I’ve ever eaten. It was so crispy and chewy and flaky and not too salty — like they often are. The scone, the roll, also fabulous! They know how to do dough here. I love the servers, I love the sweet atmosphere of the place but we couldn’t sit! There were three people writing on their computers at the counter, a knitting club taking up all the seats inside and a book club taking up the outside. Now, to be a fair, a guy offered us his chair and we dragged one in from outside and got to sit while we ate and he talked to us. He was sweet but it wasn’t the experience we went there for. I love the place, too, but I think taking up all the seats in a TINY bakery like this is rude.
