Holy bad customer service batman! We actually didn’t encounter any rudeness, just other stuff. The other reviews that talked about waiting times and poor organization were spot on. My husband and I went there today, Saturday 2/20, for lunch. There was 1 girl working as waitress, cashier, and busing tables. Which honestly wouldn’t have been an issue for anyone else since there were only 4 tables, including us. But this poor girl, she wouldn’t last 1 day in a real restaurant. She has absolutely no sense of prioritization of tasks, which is probably why people have stories of waiting long periods for service. She forgot one of the most simple things in sit-down food service, bringing our drinks, which was just water and iced tea, not hard to remember and most places automatically bring water anyway. I watched her bounce from task to task with no reason or order, leaving tasks unfinished and people’s orders forgotten. This also included watching her handle dirty dishes, then touch/slice a baguette of bread, then handle money and pick up something off the floor and then take plates of food out to customers all without washing her hands. It was gross. The whole time this girl moved about without reason the cook and the dish washer chatted in the kitchen area right behind the counter, and spent a ridiculous amount of time lining a single small cabinet with paper. This also resulted in us waiting a very long time for our 1 sandwich we ordered. I seriously feel bad for this girl. She really hasn’t been given much direction, seems to lack common sense, and doesn’t seem to be getting any help from her coworkers. Our sandwich, the Monte Cristo, was only OK. The pasta salad it came with was pretty good. The pastry we ordered was amazing, but they dont make them there, they order them in. I dont think I’ll come back. The food isn’t worth the waiting and disorganization. Now if I could rate the person they get the pastries from, 5 stars for that person!

This is one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. A small homey café in Newport, OR, La Maison Bakery mixes amazing food and friendly service. If you’re looking for a breakfast/brunch spot in Newport, you MUST go here. My wife and I both agree that this place has the BESTCROISSANTS we’ve ever had; super flaky on the outside, and soft a light on the inside. My wife also ordered an omelette with artichoke, and that too, was one of the best omelettes we have tried. I ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict which was also to die for. We will definitely be returning to La Maison for croissants and to try the rest of their menu!

We found this place through Unilocal while visiting the Coast. Glad we did as we never would have stumbled across it on our own but it was well worth it! Had the Caramelized Banana French Toast with bacon, Loire Valley Omelet with homemade english muffin, and got some pastries to take home. The food was AMAZING. French Toast was not overly sweet or swimming in sugary sauce, just perfect. Omelet and english muffin were very good. The pastries we took home were some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s a very small space with limited staff so I wouldn’t recommend showing up there with a party of 12 and expecting to be served within 15 minutes… but if you’re a reasonable person it is a fantastic place to eat. :)

There was lipstick on my partner’s coffee mug. My toes were freezing off because the small café was that cold. BUT. The food is what dreams are made of. Holy gucamole! I had the banana french toast which was heaven in my mouth: light, creamy, not to sweet and literally the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. We also had the benedicts, artichoke and traditional. Huge portions, luxurious in taste, homemade english muffins with thick, hearty bacon. Fabulous. We will be back on our next visit to the coast!

This place is a hidden gem. Classic French cooking in a small seaside town setting. Can it get any better? I say NO it can’t! I had the salmon Bennedict and was blown away. Avoid the window seats in the winter it does get quite chilly. I highly recommend this small classic French restaurant. Do get the croissants with jelly. Bön Appetite!!!

This is literally, no exaggeration, the best breakfast that I have ever eaten!!! This place can not be described, you just have to go here to see for yourself! The coffee is absolutely delicious, the breakfast appetizer of bananas, heavy cream and hazelnuts is something I’ve never experienced before but it just wonderful. I’ve rebooked my next coast trip in Newport Beach rather than other beaches specifically so I can have breakfast here! Btw, service was terrific and atmosphere is quaint, cozy and relaxing!

Food is outstanding, service is persnickety– absolute cutoff for breakfast 11:00 am. If the attitude would improve more stars easily attained.

Awesome breakfast find in Newport! I highly recommend this. Started with bananas and cream and main meal was french omelette with artichokes and mushrooms topped with artichoke cream. Yum!

Pros: — great menu/selection with tasty ‘implementations’: the Paris omelette and the Versailles Crepes were just right — good cappuccinos — a certain understated rustic elegance of the décor — convenient location, calm atmosphere, lovely music Cons: — the day after a holiday, they were understaffed so we had to wait a long time for our food. However the rain had not stopped all morning so we were happy to be in a cozy, warm locale.

Awful service… Not enough servers at 915am tues morning. Yes this is a breakfast café. Was seated and server promptly served everyone else but us… Sat there for 10 min without even water, much less coffee/oj. Finally got our food, lady forgot our fruit, never offered to refill our drinks. And oh ya we never got a glass of water that I asked three times for… I just gave up. Yes food was good. Service was inaccurate and slow. I would have understood… I get it, ur under staffed… It’s not ur fault it’s the cheap ass owners fault. But EXECUTESERVICEINTHEORDERTHECUSTOMERSCOMEANDSIT!!! why would u jump and skip around like a schizophrenic, prejudice(?) idiot.

Having only recently been introduced to eggs benedict, I have to say that this has been one of the best ones I’ve had so far. Their salmon benedict is a great take on this classic and I was glad to be able to eat it here. It’s a bit hard to find off the main street, but the extra effort to find it is definitely worth the food!

Great Eggs Benedict and great pastries! We found this place on Unilocal. We were looking for a place to have a late breakfast or brunch. We were not disappointed. My wife LOVES Eggs Benedict. I don’t care so much for Hollandaise Sauce. I took one for the team and we split a traditional Eggs Benedict a regular croissant and a raspberry croissant. The meal also came with a bowl of Bananas in cream with hazelnuts. They split that for us without asking. We both really enjoyed this meal. The eggs were perfectly poached, the scratch-made English muffins were good, the ham was thick and I even enjoyed their Hollandaise sauce. It wasn’t very lemony so that may be why I liked it. The pasties are scratch-made here and we’re great. We’d eat here again.

We were told we must visit this amazing bistro on our next trip to Newport. We did and its fare is more extraordinary than promised! The caramel-infused banana French toast is decadent and their pastries defy ample praise. Service is family-friendly and prompt. We will dine their tonight. A ‘must visit’ when anywhere near Newport!

The amazingly friendly customer service takes this to a 5-star experience. Had the chicken salad — it was huge and delicious. Served with bread that tasted homemade. The desserts look spectacular, but I was just too full to try them.
