Abby’s Legendary Pizza

Normally have really good service. We come here every time we are in town. Today, though, I ordered a large pizza thinking that it was the largest and got a smaller pizza than anticipated. It didn’t feed all of us then had to wait for more food when we were trying to get somewhere. Totally frustrating experience that could have been avoided if the person taking my order had just verified what I really wanted.

I’m honestly not sure why this place is getting a bad wrap. I’ve been here a number of times, and it is consistently good. Is it the best pizza I’ve had? No, not by a long shot, but it’s a really good, small town pizza place. The people are polite, the service is good, they’ve delivered on-​time when I’ve done that. I have no problem at all with these guys. When I want pizza in Newport, I go there.

Okay. Perhaps it’s Stockholm Syndrome but I had their garlic breadsticks and deep dish pizza tonight and it was sooooooo yummy. Pizza crack yummy. This is the first time I’ve had good, toe-​curling pizza since moving to Newport. Apparently Im a deep dish kind of girl. Who knew?

I ate here with my folks a few years back for lunch when we went down to the Oregon Coast for vacation.
Their Pizza is pretty decent; not the best pizza i’ve ever had, but certainly not the worst, somewhat in between I guess.

Ate here tonight with my family & was disappointed. Got 2 different pizzas & it would have been so much better if they had actually put some sauce on it. Crust was good, toppings were good, but i honestly do not think either pizza had any sauce whatsoever, which made it pretty dry & disgusting. If you order from here, you may want to request sauce. Doubt I would eat here again.

Abby’s is what I expected, in a good way. Its a chain pizza place not a artisan shop with homemade ingredients. That being said, Abby’s served up our sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza in about 30 minutes. It was hot, cheesy, and tasty. It was a great bite coming in from the cold.

Walking in the lady that took our order seemed like she didn’t want to. A large pizza was $ 28 which is fine if the pizza is good. The pizza was horrible. Toppings were just «ok» but the crust was tasteless. We only ate one slice and wanted to be done with it. Looking back at the workers they looked like «don’t ask us anything». The environment was just not inviting and taking this $ 28 pizza back just seemed not worth the hassle. Lesson learned. I’m from Toledo and moved to California 15 or so years ago… I came home to visit and remembered this place USED to be good. It’s a horrible place now. AVOID!

Decent pizza could be thicker more toppings. That said the Breadsticks were awesome as was the salad.

Worst abbys I have ever been into. Service was crap, workers talked about how much they disliked working for abbys. Eyes burnt from the crap they sprayed on tables next to us. No salad bar had options for old premaid salads in cooler. Pizza was so bad and burnt that I wish I had the phone number for the general manager I would have called them in to fire all of the people who worked the evening of Jan 3^rd.

We made a stop here on our way down the coast just to grab something simple. The BBQ pizza was covered ENTIRELY with too much garlic. I seriously didn’t believe it when I peeled off the cheese and it was a solid layer of minced garlic on the pizza. Would not have got it if I had known that when they said garlic it was mainly a garlic pizza with a little BBQ sauce.
Decently priced. When we were there almost all the tables were reserved and not many places to sit even though no one was at the tables.
Employees were openly discussing the tips they made and how some customers were acting while eating their shift meals at the table next to us.

Terrible customer service. Sub par pizza. Messed up order. Expensive.
Avoid if possible.

I love Abbys in my home town, but it is just terrible at this one. This time we ordered it, the crust and top were under cooked and not at all appetizing. The sauce was brown, not red. It was $ 28 for an ex. large and it was just over priced. We used the delivery service.

First I would like to say that the staff was absolutely fantastic. They in no way made our experience unpleasant. The staff was the reason this place didn’t get a 1 star. They were friendly, efficient and did everything within their power to make this visit an acceptable one.
Now for the atmosphere. This place is the poor man’s Chuck E Cheese… which doesn’t make sense because I think this place is more expensive than Chuck E Cheese… So that would make Chuck E Cheese the poor man’s Abby’s Legendary Pizza, which is an insult to Chuck E Cheese because at least Chuck E Cheese’s Pizza tastes better… (mind you, I haven’t had Chuck E Cheese Pizza in almost 2 decades). This place has a wall of overpriced arcade games. Mostly prize and chance games, and then a red neck shoot’em up with the crappy plastic shot guns.
Man… kids now a days are spoiled. These brats were throwing those fake guns all over the place, and not lightly either, there were loud bangs as the controllers slammed into the ground when the kids couldn’t figure out that they had to still insert 11 more quarters in if they wanted to shoot at virtual deer and other innocent virtual animals. The parents didn’t say a god damn word. When I was a kid, if I had done what they did, my mother would run right up to me, grab me by arm and demand that I pick up the gun and put it back gently and with no attitude… Thank you, Mom. Thank you for not raising me to become a rude backwater hick with no respect to any one else’s property.
Now for the food… We got Cheese sticks and a meat pizza… the cheese sticks were not bad, but the pizza tasted completely bland… Ever see the movie film «The Matrix?» You know how Mouse describes the tasteless gruel that they eat on the ship as ‘Tasty Wheat’. This was the ‘Tasty Wheat’ Pizza… BLAND. Between the 2 of us, we only ate a quarter. We then took the rest to give away to a homeless person… which we never did find, so we ended up saving up on lunch for a couple of days…
So in conclusion… Great Staff, Horrible Prices, Substandard dining facility, depressing clientele, Bland food.

We both had personal pizzas. My pepperoni was decent, and the thin crust was crisp and tasty, but the pizza itself was a little smaller than it should have been. The lone star bbq chicken was excellent. The crust was good, perfect temperature, and generous toppings.
The restaurant cleanliness though was severely lacking. The place was just filthy. The staff looked dirty and depressed. The only cleaning we saw take place was a staff member half heartedly wipe the filth off of a table and on to the floor. There was wadded up napkins and toppings covering the unvaccumed carpet. We probably wouldn’t come here again.

I ordered a pizza at 8:40 pm we were hoping to get it and put our son to bed, we got it but it was the wrong pizza (full of mushrooms which we have allergies to) anyway we called and they said the delivery driver still had our pizza and they would call him. It is now 10:20 and no pizza! They close in 40 mins. My son is still up… we called again and they said it was coming, no offer for discount or apology. Will never order from here again.

So compared to abby’s at home, this one is always so much better. I don’t know if it is the salt air or what, but it is always a treat. Not sure why albany’s isnt up to par, but they could take lessons from this location

Let me start by saying the pizza was not bad. It was decent, deep-​dish pizza. However, I expect MUCH better for what they were charging… We had our pizza delivered. It got there relatively quickly, but the delivery guy bordered on rude… It left me feeling irritated and disappointed. I will not be ordering from there again.

Disappointing, missing slice. I’ve had Abby’s pizza in Bend and other towns. But the Newport one was a let down. First I placed an order for 515, got there at 512 and was told,“your pizza will be up in a minute.” It was 535 when I finally got it. Then when we got back to the hotel I found my pizza slightly beat up and looks like a slice is missing. We were too hungry and too far to return the pizza. We won’t be back.

This is good for pizza in this area, but I would not go crazy to have it again. A friend recommended it and it was a good clean nice place for pizza. It just wasn’t fricken awesome or anything. Lots of options though. Hey, ya not in new yawk, ok?
