Everything is your standard Chinese BUT with great flavor and quality ingredients. The chicken is cooked to perfection not overdone. Good pieces of beef with beef & broccoli not the cheap crap. Very fast called and ordered a pick up was ready in 10 minutes.

This place is actually really good and I’m picky about where I order Chinese food from. What’s even better is it being right across the street. I would order it every night if I could. The shrimp fried rice is good,(shrimp is actually deveined which is a huge deal for me), and the General Tso’s chicken is amazing. It’s my favorite thing to order. Also try the chicken teriyaki stick !

I was in town for my Moms surgery & I wanted to enjoy good Chinese food. So after asking a lot of people & checking out Unilocal recommendations Hong Kong was at the top of my list. I have to say it was sooo good & I can’t wait to get more VERY soon!!! It was really yummy — the house low mein & fried rice were my favorite. The Kung Pow beef was delicious too! I definitely recommend Hong Kong! You won’t be disappointed!

This is my second takeout experience and not such a good one. I ordered fried dumpling. I got home to find burnt dumplings. If the dumplings were burned why not cook new ones for a better customer experience…

This might be the best Chinese take out that I’ve had since being in Hampton Roads! Service is always good as well. Some places try to rush you into ordering. Food is prepared fresh of course, and they offer large portions. Food is excellently seasoned as well! Chicken with broccoli has always been on point. They even have Chinese donuts!!! It’s located in a little shopping center off of J Clyde Morris Blvd behind Burger King. Kinda hard to find with GPS. Give them a try!

The most excellent Chinese food in the area. I am from NY and chinese food from NY is the best but Hong Kong comes pretty close. I LOVE the shrimp fried rice and their bourbon chicken. A++ in my book. Go give them a chance, you won’t be sorry.

Good quality food for what it is, which is typical Chinese takeout. This is probably the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The restaurant itself is very small and only has a couple tables. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have hot tea.

Fast, friendly service. Delicious food. I had a little trouble finding the place though, since the map shows it in the middle of J Clyde, but it’s actually in the shopping center behind the Burger King. So, if you can manage to find it, definitely give them a shot. Knocking off one star for not having delivery, this place only does take-away.

It’s one of the better I’ve found being from the north. I wish the dumplings were doughier and the food wasn’t so saucy.

Newport News is littered with strip malls, each with a Chinese restaurant. Hong Kong is close to my house, and I had not eaten Chinese food in quite some time. I looked at the other reviews and gave it a shot. Definitely will go back again. The chicken fried rice is short on vegetables, but has excellent chicken and a great taste. I took the recommendation for the General Tso’s and will likely get it again. It wasn’t too sweet the way that some places do(too much hunan sauce), and wasn’t overly spicy although I did not ask for it to be. A great find amongst the clutter of Chinese food in this area. When it comes to Chinese food, I’m not looking for«authentic.» This is the same menu every place puts out. The difference here is that it tastes great.

We drive twenty minutes to this Hong Kong. Best one the Peninsula. The restaurant is owned by a family and they are always polite and helpful if you have any questions. The family special is a must to try. So much food to choose from for 19.00!

So far the best take out in the area. I couldn’t find a menu online and forgot to grab one to photograph. Not super cheap(like all the menus for other places people leave in my door), but none of them are these days. Example, Mongolian Beef, which I thought was quite tasty only came in one size and was 8.25. Place looks pretty run down, and there are hand written signs all over for specials and combos. Regardless, I’m glad I tried it and will be coming back for the food! It’s great!

Great flavor from a small hut. Lunch combos were plentiful and satisfying. Even though it’s hidden off of the path, well worth the find.

Typical chinese joint. Small with limited tables. They have tofu specials for tofu lovers like myself. I couldn’t really understand them on the phone with their heavy accents and it was rather odd that they didn’t take down my phone number after I had placed my order. However, the ladies up front were friendly and quick to greet you with big smiles as soon as you walk in. They do get rather busy so the wait is probably around 30mins. instead of the usual 15mins. That wait is worthed though. Their food is tasty! Apparently they only use vegetable oil and they do not add msg in their dishes. Definitely the go to chinese spot!

One of the best Chinese take-out places in the area. The staff are very friendly and remember the regulars well :) They sometimes have tofu items on special so you might want to check for that before ordering. MSG free.
