Great food and low prices. The burgers are the way to go when ordering here. Friendly service.

Stick with the burgers and chicken sandwiches. That $ 5 box is a rip off they’ll give you like two Chicken nuggets and one onion ring. Everything else is gross (yes even their milkshakes.) They have like ten different kinds of chocolate milkshakes ex. dutch, double chocolate, mocha and guess what? They all taste exactly the same. Actually all of them taste like a vanilla milkshake with a hint of whatever it’s supposed to be. Cheap place o take your kids to eat but that’s about it

This place is pretty good. Good food at a really cheap price. 5 bucks gets you a Double Cheese Burger, Fries, and a drink. Definitely gonna be my new spot.

Main reason for 4 stars (instead of 3) is because of the price. Really can’t be beat. The burgers themselves are pretty good but everything else is mediocre at best. They also have cheerwine which I really love (would recommend the cheerwine float instead of a shake)

Pretty good, the food does taste like it was just cooked outdoors on the grill. My only disappointment was that I ordered a cookout tray with the BBQ with cole slaw, hush puppies, and onion rings. I only received four onion rings, I thought that was pretty slack and I’m not sure it was a mistake or if you only get that many with each order. My other cookout tray with a hamburger, french fries, hush puppies and that was incredibly better. A great place to eat and a terrific price.

I really wish I could give this establishment zero stars. I receive the worst costumer service every time I go here and tonight was the last straw. I hope whatever little brat that was working drive-​thru tonight reads this. You need an attitude adjustment and to get fired. I’ll have you know that I work 12 hour shifts at a hospital and after I got off, all I wanted was some quick food. I started off with saying my very simple order; only managing to get out «yes may I please have a regular hamburger cookout.» *at a normal pace!*, as she cuts me off snapping «Um SLOW DOWN». I then said never mind after I hear her and her friends giggling. Then she says «bye!» Sarcastically. You’re lucky I didn’t come in there and snatch that headset off of your head, you little shit. You have no idea what other people are dealing with in life. I hope you get a reality check.

Better than expected! I got a tray with a regular hamburger, corn dog, onion rings, and soda for like $ 5. My burger was very tasty and I like how I could get a bunch of veggies on it. Corn dog was on the smaller side but also good — small cups of mustard available at the register. The onion rings were unmemorable and only came with 4 pieces. I tried my friend’s fries and hush puppies and I would order those instead of the onion rings. I didn’t go with the fancy shake, but love how there are so many flavors and so thick!
Plenty of seating inside and the atmosphere is nicer/​cozier than most fast food restaurants. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. Getting out of the parking lot is a bit of a hassle due to being located on a busy part of Jefferson.

Love this place. Good food and even better prices. The staff is always courteous and the service spot on. Yes its a «fast food» spot, but fortunately the food is much better than a McDonalds, Wendys, etc.

Great value buying the cook out tray. Fresh hamburger and the best shakes anywhere for just a dollar upcharge.

Only 3 stars because fast food is fast food, but… I hit Cook Out every time I travel south, and I wasn’t disappointed today! Very tasty and reasonably priced! I love the barbecue plate with barbecue pork and the hush puppies were awesome! Topped off with a Cheerwine soda and I was in food heaven!

Prices were reasonable and service was good, atmosphere was great, but quantity wasn’t there. We weren’t reallly impressed on our first visit to a Cookout. Wouldn’t be a regular place to visit. The food was good, but the burgers were too small, didn’t seem like what you would expect from a «double/​double» or a «huge» burgers.

Super cheap fast food and good quality for the money. My boyfriend and I ate here after the gym last night (counter-​productive, I know), he had the chili cheese fries, a large Mountain Dew and the huge steak style burger he couldn’t even finish it. I ordered a bacon cheddar hotdog, chicken nuggets and regular fries. It was good and if I want fast food I’ll definitely make the drive out here. His order was a little over $ 10 but mine was under $ 5. You definitely get your money’s worth here. I will definitely be back to try more things. Wish I could give a four and a half.

So many milkshakes… SO MANY FUCKING MILKSHAKES that it was overwhelming. I didn’t get anything to eat at this place, but that will be on my next trip. They had a wide assortment of milkshakes that would please any palette.

Man, listen. They don’t have Cookout in the DC area, so I go a lil’ wild when I get to the south and see one. One Cookout tray wasn’t enough, so I got two. One with a cajun chicken sandwich, hush puppies & onion rings. The other with chicken strips, fries and a corndog. Got a peach cobbler milkshake and an orange pushup milkshake. Greedy? Yep!!! But hey, all that for like $ 12. I would’ve paid at least $ 20 for something of less quality back home. Everything was good. They got me considering trying to get a Cookout franchise to DC.

Never have been in the place, but the drive through is always lined up but I get through pretty fast.

Awesome food, awesome shakes, awesome service and lovely tasteful décor. The business is Christian run too… which I determined because they have scripture on the drink cups. Other than that, you’d never know. Id come here either way… the food is that delicious… but the praise to god makes me really want to come back. And did I mention the food was CHEAP! The sizes are small but it’s meant so you can order two or more things and have a combo style meal… which I love. Awesome food awesome place!

It’s been over a year since I’ve been to a Cook Out. This is my first time coming to this location. I came here after being at Busch Gardens for the day and was on the way home to VB.
Overall, the place is very well kept. It was clean inside and out. The cook out tray is a good deal. It’s similar to combo meals at other fast food locations. I had the big double burger today. Overall, the sandwich was good. I had lettuce, tomato, onion, and bacon added to it. For the sides, I had the fries and onion rings. The sides were also good. Next time when I come to one of their locations, I think I will do the hush puppies as a side, since they looked really good. I had the mint choclate shake for the drink. I’ve had shakes from this chain before, and they have some of the best milkshakes I’ve had in a while.
Keeping the price of the food and meals in mind, this is a great place to have a cheap, but good meal. One thing about this place that’s not so good is that it is hard to get in and out of. It’s located right off of Jefferson Avenue and there is only one way in and one way out.
Overall, I do like the food that they have here. I’d come back to this location if I am coming home that route (this time, it was due to traffic and accident issues on I-​64 that had me get off).

I got the cookout tray: Approx 5.50 for: sandwich, 2 sides and large drink (add 1 $ if u want a shake!)
Grilled chicken cajun sandwich– A bit too salty, but YUMMY! SPICING was awesome, it was tender, juicy (unlike regular fast food chicken breasts) and it was a huge breast! Th sandwich was huge, and i asked for grilled onions (no additional cost).
Fries– they were not fresh, but tasted pretty good! Medium thick sliced pieces of potato yumminess!
They have tons of sandwiches to choose from and the menu has descriptions for all of them (which i appreciated). Their collection of sides are also huge– hush puppies, quesadilla (yes, as a side), fries, chili corndog, etc. And you could double up on your sides (for example if you are a fries whore like me, i could care less about the other fancy stuff)
I dont understand the hate this place gets. I tried the cookout in norfolk, same great experience. I DID notice the drive thru line was moving slower than i expected, so luckily was able to sneak out of the line, park and get served inside the facility. (i definitely would not hit up this joint during busy evening hours, it seems like it could turn into an unpleasant surprise)
Inside was clean, had kind of a log cabin feel to it. Bathroom was clean (yup, i checked) and service was pretty great– food came out under 5 min. Its one of the best fast food places ive been to (five guys is great too!) and ill keep returning (to try their shake next time!)
