If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The service at this restaurant was absolutely the WORST customer service experience I have ever encountered. I’m talking worse than speaking to an outsourced representative about your IT woes. Where to begin… I was meeting a group of friends for a birthday dinner. The hostess told us our initial wait time would be one hour. We ordered some drinks and sat on the patio. Once our table was ready inside, we sat down and were greeted by our server. He took our food and drink orders then disappeared for 30 minutes. When my Texas Tea cocktail arrived, it was clearly watery from sitting at the bar too long. Now for the good part… Because our server once again disappeared, I requested to speak to a manager. Dennis was one of the managers on duty. OHMYGOD. His attitude was completely stank. I told him my drink was dead. His response, «Ok, so what do you want me to do? Want another one?» I said yes and that I wouldn’t have asked him personally if our server was present. He says, «So you don’t have a server? No one has come to your table?» I rolled my eyes because obviously he was being sarcastic. I asked what his problem was. Are you short staffed or something? His exact words were, «Look around. You’re our biggest party. So we’re busy. You answered your own question.» He snatched the drink from the table and quickly returned with a fresh drink. When he came back I told him that he offended me, and I didn’t like the way he talked to me. Instead of apologizing or explaining himself, he asked what exactly did he say that offended me. I asked him if he was joking or trying to be funny because his whole spirit was offensive since our first interaction. I will be contacting the corporate office to make a formal complaint. I will also reach out to the local franchise owner. There’s no way I can include every detail of this horrendous gathering, but please believe that I will never be eating here again.

The worst experience I ever had at Cheddar’s. They took forever to give us are food and when we got are food it was cold and barely had enough food on my plate. We didn’t even know who are waiter was. They should have did a whole alot better than they did. I also noticed other customers were getting there food faster than we did and they arrived after us. I love Cheddar’s but this Cheddar’s wasn’t good at all maybe it was a bad day or wrong time or service I really dont know but they need to do better. Also the southern green beans was nasty that wasn’t southern and the chicken tenders was taste like flour and they give me like three shrimps.

Friends brought us here for our birthdays, they swear by it. They said is was a great place. I agreed! Great staff, great service and absolutely great food for a chain.

This was my first and last visit to Cheddars. I’m not sure how they can call themselves«Cheddars scratch kitchen» and yet the mashed potatoes were instant.(Or at the very least instant mixed with real– either way, blech). In addition the service was slow.(full disclosure– it was Valentines Day). The men’s bathroom smelled like the elephant house at the zoo. Seriously not good for maintaining an appetite. The rest of our meals were really inedible. I left 95% of my meal untouched and the waiter didn’t ask if there was an issue. After seeing how disgusting the bathroom was, I figured I’d cut my losses and just pay for it and get out without complaining

This restaurant has to be the best value for your money on the Peninsula. The prices are fantastic for both the quality and quantity of what you get, especially the huge chicken tenders. Make sure you get them buffalo style for an extra kick!

Cheddar’s is one of my first stops whenever I’m in town. They have been at this location for years, and food is consistently good. We always start with spinach dip and end with a monster cookie. The butter croissants are stellar as well. There is sometimes a wait during busy meal times. They do offer to go orders that can be picked up in the bar.

We stopped in while in town for a swim meet. We had 10 kids and probably 15 adults. Arriving right when they opened for lunch allowed to be seated right away. The restaurant filled up quickly for the lunch rush yet our service was solid. They dedicated a couple people to our group and got drinks out quickly. They also managed to get all the food up at the same time which is a challenge. The atmosphere is great and everything was very clean. The food was good all the way around, I did not hear anyone with complaints about their meal. My food was well above average for a chain restaurant. After the meal, our wait staff was quick to have separate checks out to each family and was prompt with the cash out. Overall, a good experience and meal.

The Key West Chicken and Shrimp over rice, black beans and broccoli salad were all very good. I can’t say anything bad about this plate, the flavors were on point for each component. Homemade black beans were tasty and the broccoli salad was almost as good as mine. The pineapple salsa on the chicken and shrimp was great!

If you are looking for excellent food and drinks for a great price, Cheddars is the place to go. If you’re visiting with«long time no see» friends or family and want to take your time and visit, Cheddars is the place to go. If you are looking for top notch service and speed, Cheddars is ABSOLUTELYNOT the place to go. If you are looking for a quiet atmosphere for date night with your honey, Cheddars is not the place for you either love birds. Three times I’ve visited this establishment with my family and all three times I have left with a happy tummy but with a crappy attitude for the place. We have had different waitresses each time and they all seem to be SLOW and FORGETFUL! One gal didn’t even know if they had apple juice on the kids menu! I don’t care how new you are, if you’re on the floor serving on your own the least you should know is the drink menu. That just shows to me a lack of proper training. The place is also very very loud! I had to TEXT my lover who merely sat across from me something that I wanted to say because he could not understand what I was saying due to the noise level. After speaking with a manager last night about my concerns, I gathered that management seems to not find an issue with the pace of things and didn’t seem to take me too seriously. Overall, if you can handle a wait and are wanting some superb food. Go on in to Cheddars. That’s my three star take on this establishment.

My cousin saw a roach in there a couple months ago so none of us have been back there since. That’s gross and unacceptable. Pest control should be your first concern. Ugh!!! E– in my book.

Oddly enough, it’s always difficult for me to find something I’d actually like to try on their menu. But the things that I’ve had are forgettable and just ok in taste. The service is fine. But the menu variety is lacking. I don’t frequent this place. I have friends who adore it, so the consensus has won from time to time. I can definitely go without it though.

Chedders itd been too long. The last time i went was Harker Heights Texas and I loved it then and I love it now. My server Ashton Keep it up, she was engaging, attentive, and very respectful. Spoke with her for like two minutes and it was like talking to someone you met before. I had the rybeye steak medium, fries, and black beans with an ice cold beer. Yo, yo YO! That hit all the spot. I am feeling full not too much or too little. I was very pleased with your establishment. I will be back. Seriously I didn’t mean to sound like Arnold.

This was my very first Cheddar’s experience, but I’ve always heard good things about it. I live in the MD/DC area and there is only one that is quite far from me so I’ve never made the trip. However, on my way from Va beach, my travel partner insisted we stop there! Not straying too far from traditional casual eatery items, I chose the chicken tenders(based on a suggestion) and shrimp meal which came with two sides and I chose the baked potato and Mac and cheese(yes, I carbed up, I was still technically on vacation :)) I usually turn my nose up at chicken tenders, but I was surprised at the portions and the taste; very crispy chicken and shrimp(to my liking), not too greasy, flavorful and plenty of it. And, for the price, it was a great value. I believe my meal fell a little under 12 bucks, so it wouldn’t have been that much of a let down if it was bad. But, it was gooood. And, we also ordered the butter croissants which were delish. I can’t really comment to the service because it was really just an in and out thing for us, but nothing negative stood out to us. But, for a casual night on a budget, Cheddar’s is a solid option.

Can only WISH we had a Cheddar’s here in Richmond. I have hit the Dallas, Newport News and Waldorph Md location and leave full in the stomach and full in the pocket. Flat out best bang for the food and drinks at the prices. The portions are big and croissants make you want to slap someone. Nearest spot to Rich VA is Newport News. Worth the trip if visiting the outlets in Williamsburg or coming back from Va Beach. They stay packed so plan to wait 30min to an hour on weekends. Lots of big parties go there.

I have eaten here a few times before. You do need to get here early or just bring your patience and wait it out. Enjoy that lovely cooking channel they have on in the lobby. If that’s not getting your taste buds flowing I don’t know what will. The food is good. I had the croissants last time. They were delicious. Melted in your mouth. So soft and warm! Cheese fries were good. Can’t go wrong with them as long as they are served hot! Trying the spasagna with meat sauce and chicken fried steak this go around! I thought mine(the spasagna) was good. I thought there was a good balance of sauce, cheese and noodles. My husband thought there was too much breading on his fried steak and the gravy was over seasoned to his liking.(Hmmm, and he likes seasoning) Waitress made alot of extra trips. Like first go around she didn’t even take my drink order. So when she came back I put mine in. She brought the wrong condiment with the fries. She brought my bread out after I had my food. The ladies bathroom was a mess. Paper towels coming out of both trash cans. There is a wait to come in so maybe they are just too busy to get in there. I liked the table area, except the table is not level and moves back and forth when you touch it. My husband isn’t happy with the noise level as we are in the bar area and he questions why we with children would be seated there? Overall not a bad experience but it may be a bit before we come back.

I never liked Cheddars. It always felt like that fictional restaurant in the movie Office Space. The one with all the«flare.» This Cheddars recently renovated their exterior and, I think, the interior. There’s the first problem; I couldn’t really tell if they renovated the inside. The outside of the building got a new sign: «Cheddars Scratch Kitchen.» What does«Scratch» mean? This is so blatant an attempt to attract a hipster crowd that I found the new name alone a huge turnoff. Nevertheless, I wanted to give Cheddars a clean slate. New look. New name. New menu? I couldn’t really tell. Again, that’s a problem. They had their«favorites» on there like country fried steak(hated it in the past) and traditional chain-restaurant burgers like the«blue cheese burger» or some variation of the«smokehouse burger,» i.e. «we’re going to put BBQ sauce and onion ring on your burger.» To be honest, it all sort of runs together. I’m watching my calories(emphasis on WATCHING), so I opted for something off the«Lighter Side» section — the Grilled Baja Chicken. It actually wasn’t bad. My chicken was cooked and season perfectly. It say on top of a white rice and black bean slop that tasted like a leftover Chipotle burrito bowl. My daughter had the Chicken Pot Pie and her mom had the Citrus Miso Glazed Salmon. Both looked just fine. The pot pie was pretty good. Tasted just like momma used to make. By momma, I mean Marie Callender’s. A place like Cheddars really only specializes in one thing and that’s the appetizers. This iteration of Cheddars has the traditional frozen-bag-deep-fried crap like chicken tender baskets and potato skins. I was starving(WATCHING my calories), so we ordered the Triple Treat Sampler. To my Surprise the potato skins were not bad at all. They actually tastes freshly made. Same with the«Wisconsin Cheese Bites.» They tasted as if they were handmade there. I could’ve eaten a whole plate of them. So far I’ve talked about how pleasantly surprised I was with our food. So where does Cheddars go wrong? The same place it always stumbled — service. Our waitress was abysmal. I could barely hear her. She didn’t know anything about the menu. Multiple times she literally picked up our menus to read the description when we had questions. After she brought our food we asked for silverware and it came 5 minutes later. By that point, I had already stolen the silverware off the empty table next to us. When our waitress arrived with her rolls of silverware she asked where ours came from, as if she planned on us waiting 5 minutes to eat the food sitting in front of us. Our sampler appetizer came with no app plates and our waitress never came over to check on us or offer drink refills. So you could chalk this up to just one poor server. Maybe she was new? I doubt it. I noticed runners coming out of the kitchen all night trying to drop food off at the wrong tables. They tried giving our table an appetizer and mixed drink we didn’t order. I sat and watched the table across from me get seated, wait and wait and wait, before they left after about 15 minute or so of nobody coming to wait on them. What’s worse, a server waiting on the table next to their’s must not have noticed at all because she began using their vacated table as a satellite wait station, stacking dirty dishes, extra to-go boxes, and silverware there. This all just reeks of poor management. I give Cheddars one star because the food, shockingly, tastes good. It wasn’t good enough to put up with a lousy experience though. If not for the entertaining company(my hilarious 10 year old daughter), dinner would’ve been a real buzzkill.

We had never eaten at Cheddar’s and decided to go after viewing the menu online while we were visiting Newport News, VA. Upon entering, we were greeted by a pleasant young lady and waited for all of 5 minutes before being led to our table. The menu seemed to be a cross section of American, New Orleans influenced, well, to be honest, it was similar to The Cheesecake Factory, trying to cater to different tastes, but getting lost in its translation, which is not good for me as l have a hard enough time trying to decide what to eat when l open up my fridge at home let alone the vast menu offerings they had here. Anyway, l decided on the queso with tortilla chips and l added ground beef for no additional cost. It was ok. For our meal we ordered the grilled lemon pepper catfish with herb rice, loaded baked potato and steamed broccoli and the chicken tender/half rack of bbq ribs with french fries and red beans and rice. The fish came with 2 nice size fillets. It had a great flavor and the sides were what you expect. The chicken tenders were breaded in a flaky crust and were not greasy. The ribs were meaty with an ok bbq glaze. The red beans and rice had nice flavor with pork sausage included in the bean sauce. All in all a great lunch as the portions where huge and we took half of each of our entrees with us and had them later for dinner. Cheddar’s is a place we will visit again.

Me and my friends decided to go to Cheddar’s, so we planned the trip and drove almost an hour just to eat at this restaurant, and I have no regrets! The four of us were seated in a booth lit up by natural lighting. The server came up and asked for our drinks. I got the mango iced tea, and I must say it was delicious and not too sweet! Me and my friend order two things for the appetizer: the onion rings and the nachos. The onion rings tasted like onion rings you’d get from any other restaurant. However, the queso that came with the nachos was absolutely delicious! I added the beef to the side to add to the nachos since some of my friends were practicing lent and it was Friday. After enjoying that, we order our entrees. They came out fast and we started digging in. I ordered the fried chicken Alfredo. The vegetables were delicious, however, I did not like the actual entrée. The chicken tasted off like it was cooked on a burnt grill. The pasta was bland and tasted like a store bought brand. It seemed as if 85% of the sauce went onto the vegetables. I guess that’s what I get for Italian at an American restaurant. However, I did enjoy my other friend’s food. The breaded shrimp was fantastic, as well as the chicken strips. We then finished off our meal with the monster cookie. It was absolutely delicious, and we finished it off quickly. Overall, besides the pasta, I had an amazing experience! I definitely recommend it if you enjoy food in general! But skip the pasta. I hope to come back soon~
