I came here because I wanted something to drink while reading in the beautiful Atrium Court. Like Jason L, coffee didn’t sound as good as a smoothie, so I gave Tacone a whirl. The service was polite and the smoothie came out quickly(again, very few customers), but I don’t think it was all that great. I went with the cashier’s recommendation of a pineapple smoothie and ended up spending about $ 6 for a mish mash of sweetness that wasn’t all that interesting. While certainly not undrinkable, the value for money factor here is pretty bad.

Not a fan. While at Fashion Island I had the cravings for a fruit smoothie. Where is Jamba Juice? Unfortunately, there are none. So my options were to go to Starbucks for a fruit blend or Tacone. I am basing my rating strictly on the service and smooth. I walked over to Tacone with zero customers. I don’t think I’ve ever since a customer here, ever. When I first went to order, the cashier was just standing there staring at me without any. Can I help you? or How are you doing?.. That was very odd, but I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie anyway. This is probably the easiest smooth to make, but it some how took about 15 minutes. I think the cashier was the manager and knew how to make it, but he told his co-worker, who may have been new, to make it. He stood there staring at the chart as if it were in another language(possible) and had no care in the world. After, about 10 minutes or more I finally heard a blender sound. I didn’t think much of it, as long as it taste good. The worker just placed the smooth on the counter. Not saying«here you go» or calling an order number, just walked away. I tasted the most sour smooth I’ve ever had in my life. The drink tasted like 10% strawberry, 30% banana, 10% ice, and 50% pineapple juice. At first, I thought I ordered the wrong drink. I realize that pineapple juice gives any smoothie a fresh taste, but seriously! That is not a strawberry banana smoothie. I drank the smoothie in disappointment, because I was thirsty. I am still in disbelief. Note to self do not try a restaurant with no customers.

Good healthy food court eatery. I got the filet mignon plate… I wasn’t expecting much and it met my expectations. The meat was very thin & cooked well-done, but not as dry as it looked. I would consider eating here again.

Went to the Tacone in Fashion Island Mall and Loved it! Had the chicken wrap(what an Awesome taste!), and the Bikini Blast smoothie. Wow! To die for! I really enjoyed the chips, they are very crispy and have a unique taste to them. Service was very friendly and fast. I give them 2 thumbs up! Will definitely go back again. :)

Note 1÷19÷11: This is closed. Wahoo’s and Subway will take over spots in the food court when the Edwards Theatre expands in their current location. — - — - - I tried a panini sandwich called the Gobbler with turkey, jack cheese, sweet mustard, artichoke spread and tomatoes. I liked it and found it a good size. I couldn’t finish it all and didn’t find myself hungry for a while after lunch. Potato chips were included with the sandwich that are tasty. BBQ seasoning is sprinkled on them and that makes them addictive. I would Tacone again if I’m back in this food court. I would choose a wrap next time. The daily special with a wrap, salad or soup and a 10 oz drink mentioned in P. K’s review is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

Located in the Atrium food court, Tacone’s a good, healthy choice for lunch or dinner. They offer a wide variety of wraps, sandwiches and quesedillas, food platters and drinks(they have smoothies). I highly recommend the Campfire Grill wrap. It’s my favorite and is followed by the Thai Cone. As another Unilocaler mentioned, order it with the sweet potato fries. 12÷28÷10− Tacone’s no longer at Fashion Island. oi!

For a food court it gets 4 stars, outside a mall, it would get 3. What you get makes a big difference. I like the Thai Cone the best and their sweet potato fries are excellent!

I went to Tacone to eat because i didn’t feel like any of the other choices in the mall. I saw a BBQ chicken quesadilla and i thought i would try that. It was good with peppers and tomatoes. They also poured these really good chips. They looked like Lays BBQ chips, but they were crispy and tasty. I was there around 11am and one of the employees asked me if i was ready, and i told him no. So he went into the back and didn’t come out for 5 mins. 5 mins doesn’t seem that long, but i knew what i wanted right after he left. So i was waiting, looking around. Then he finally comes back out and i gave him the«i know what i want look.» He came to the cash register and told me to «hold on.» He signed on, which took a few minutes then ordered the quesadilla and a Orangabang fruit smoothie. It sort of tasted like jamba juice, but not as good. So then the employee left to the back kitchen again. It was another…5 minutes… i received my smoothie… then another 5 mins… and i got my food. Not very satisfied with the service, but the food was alright. I also thought it was going to be a bigger portion, but i was wrong… Also, to be honest, from the choices i had to make i thought this place would be the best. If there was a Subway or McDonalds or something near by, i would of gone there instead. I was just hungry and with a bunch of friends and we ended up at fashion island.

Pretty good refreshing choice for a food court establishment. The offer a variety of wraps, or salads that can be made into a wrap, sandwiches and smoothies. They also offer whole wheat tortilla which is a plus! I had their fiesta salad in wrap form with the wheat tortilla. Not bad at all. They also have a variety of self serve sauces to spice up your food with.

Yes the spa salad with zucchini and eggplant with a light dressing is a nice food court option. But the filet mignon was more like beef jerky. Small and shriveled. I seriously thought they were joking. The woman at the counter seemed to be ashamed to be serving it to me.

To appreciate this Tacone, you have to put it in context. For starters, fast food with vegetables is a little bit extraordinary. I get the Spa wrap on whole wheat and truth be told, I feel a little healthier. And that’s part of the other context I considered — location. This Tacone might be in the worst food court in history. Seriously. The only other options are gelato, La Salsa, and Fatburger, and unless you’re feeling greasy or sugary, those two are out. Heaven forbid you want something remotely interesting or unique.(There are some other little places, like a cheesesteak place and an unclassifiable Asian food place, but I’ve heard nothing good and only terrible about any of these places, and this is our lunch-hour hangout.) The food is decently prepared, and it sure is faster than La Salsa. I agree with David N. though — they need to work on keeping the wrap together, but that’s a chain-wide problem. Not stellar, but not bad either, especially considering the alternatives.

Tacone(pronounced tak-cone) is a hybrid eatery that has a semi-unique concept. Maybe the base of the idea is that a wrap is more or less a taco in a cone. Wraps are a big part of the menu, they also have pannini and salads. I had the Mambo wrap, with grilled steak, and it was a flavorful combination of steak, seasoned rice, and grilled peppers, with a tangy sauce. Tasty, with relatively good quality meat, but it didn’t hold together well. Perhaps that’s why some wrap eateries have come to serving wraps with a tightly folder paper or foil wrap-wrapper that holds everything in place as you peel it back for eating-access. The wrap came with some gourmet chips that are tasty but seem quite contrary to the fresh and healthy vibe they seem to be going for. I’d say that is indicitaive of the place as a whole — good, but the concept is unclear. The Newport location is in the Food Court at Fashion Island.
