The food was great. I did think it was too expensive. $ 35 for a bowl of cioppino? That seems like a lot to me even if it was delicious. We arrived at about 6:30 on a Thursday. The place was packed with a happy hour crowd. It was very noisy. My wife has been here before for lunch, and says it was much quieter and more relaxed then. The service was top notch: quick and attentive without being intrusive.

I was at Fly N Fish yesterday for Presidents day and we had the best service ever! Our server Jill was excellent and her assistant Alex was the best. Both were very attentive to all of our needs. We had fish tacos, chicken salad, calamari and the mahi sandwich, they were awesome!!! Hats off to the chef! We will be coming back soon for sure!

Good Newport pier seafood spot. A bit pricey but the daily specials are sure to please. Thursday mahi dish for $ 15 was plenty! Fish and chips at $ 16 was a tad small but their fries were nicely seasoned.

Food was awesome and the waitress was super nice. Three stars because after having a $ 300+ tab and wanting to hear Lady Gaga perform the manager came out and told us that they weren’t a sports bar and would change the audio for us even though they had the game on. Knowing this earlier we wouldn’t have opened three bottles of wine and order three doeze oysters here plus a lot of other things… Manager was really rude in telling us… no

First time in this establishment. I like the feel, it’s open, relaxed and sophisticated! Sit at the bar, it’s perfect for receiving the fresh breeze from the ocean. Oysters were good, although 2 out of 6 were skimpy, luckily my date just took a phone call & walked away for a moment, I called the waiter over and asked to replace them. You know, when a guest pays $$ for 6 oysters make sure they get what his/hers money’s worth. Any restaurant for that matter. These were flat & washed up. I ordered the Mahi-Mahi sandwich, Delicious! My gentleman ordered lobster tacos. Nice place, clean, location location location.

Cioppino! Best I’ve had so far. Service is great. Place is small but great atmosphere. Little on the pricey side but I guess you get what pay for. Definitely coming back for try their other seafood dishes

I came here with my Aunt for some oysters. It’s a really cute little place by the beach. We were seated right by the window and we had a great view of the sunset. We ordered an assortment of a dozen oysters. Our waitress was very helpful and let us know which oysters were which. The oysters were alright, not bad, but not the best. A couple of them still had some shell pieces in them that I had to pick out. After the oysters we also got their bacon wrapped scallops. I was surprised when we only got three of them for $ 23. They were plated very nicely though. The scallops were a bit overcooked and tasted kind of fishy. The bacon and the chipotle sauce helped with the fishiness though. This place was alright, a bit expensive for what you get.

Tasty! I got the cioppino here and also an oyster shooter. Everything was really delicious and A decent portion too! The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The place is overall pretty pricy unfortunately but the food was pretty damn good.

My friends and I had ordered literally everything on the menu. We came here starving like we haven’t eating for days. We had a party of about 6 to 8 people. And this group loves to eat. We ordered fries, calamaria, pasta, oysters, steak, etc, and many rounds of drinks. It was great! The staff were pretty cool down-to-earth people too. Parking in the area can be a pain. This place is usually always packed because it’s at the beach and there are many other stores around. Good luck finding parking…

Classic and classy fine dining. So much better than the other dive bars along the beach front. Started with a New England clam chowder(5 $ for cup), then main entrees of fish and chips(15 $), clam steamer pot(17 $), surf ‘n turf of prawns and filet mignon(40+$) and ended with a splendid dessert of banana chocolate bread pudding a la mode(11 $). The«cup» of clam chowder was huge! And filled generously with plenty of clam pieces and potatoes. It was hearty and not overly salty. The fish and chips came with only 3 pieces of fish… which weren’t all that large and tasted rather normal without much specialness to mention. The clams came in a soothing and milky broth filled with slivers of light vegetables to give it some texture. The clams themselves were light and could have used more saltiness. However, the portion was just enough clams to keep you full and satisfied. The best dish came next, which was the amazing surf and turf. The filet mignon was a light pink as requested, while the prawns were very tender. The filet was a bit on the smaller side though. To end, a large toast size of banana chocolate topped with ice cream came… filling our every bite with warm, melting goodness! The large size of the pudding warranted a lot more ice cream than was served, but it was still an amazing way to finish the meal.

This place was absolutely incredible. Service was top notch. My servers name was Jill. They were having an altercation with a customer at the time of my arrival. The customer was a rich snobby woman shouting about how she was so rich nobody could tell her she was being unruly. It was comical. Super impressed with how the chef handled the situation. THENTHEFOOD. Oh my god. I’ve worked with amazing chefs in my lifetime and you can tell This place was ONPOINT. I had bacon wrapped scallops. Lobster tacos and finished with bread pudding. It was all amazing. Top notch food and service. 5 stars. That never happens. Way to go Jill and way to go chef!!! Amazing!

Fly & Fish Oyster Bar & Grill is a lovely place to dine on some fresh seafood in a casual & quaint environment. Hubby & I had lunch at the restaurant where we were very welcomed & sat at one of the tables. I asked our friendly server what I should order & she suggested if I liked seafood then I would enjoy the cioppino. So, we ordered the following: (1) Cioppino A tomato & seafood stock based stew which included king crab, fish, clams, scallops, calamari, mussels & shrimps served with toasted garlic bread. My seafood & stock were perfectly seasoned & prepared. I especially enjoyed the jumbo scallops. This is a MUST dish. When I thought it wouldn’t get better our great server asked me if I would like some complimentary sour dough bread for my dish. Umm, YES please. The sour dough bread was served warm, fresh & with some butter … Heavenly :) (2) Side Salad Hubby’s side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing was fresh & delish! (3) Caribbean Lobster Tacos Two grilled lobster pieces served with Pico de Gallo, Cabbage and Queso Fresco. Hubby enjoyed his tacos which were refreshing. I really enjoyed my lunch at Fly & Fish Oyster Bar which serves yummy entrees with great service. A 5 Star Experience!!!

Slid in 15 minutes before happy hour(3 – 6 on the regular Monday-Friday) was over, thank the good lord because Fly N Fish is more like $$$. My table and I shared: –a dozen oysters($ 8 for half a dozen, $ 16 for a dozen): their oyster of the day were Blue Points(yessssss) and oh so good. The happy hour pricing was a steal. Briny and delectable. –calamari($ 7): lightly battered pieces of tender squid. This was a nice surprise. –single grilled fish taco($ 5): served with pico de gallo, cabbage, and queso fresco. The fish was flakey and flavorful. $ 5 isn’t necessarily cheap, but I was able to sample the taco without being fully committed to an entire fish taco plate. What I actually came here for was not their happy hour, but for their beautiful, beautiful, picture worthy cioppino. Cioppino here is chock full of shrimp, mussels, scallops, clams, calamari, crab, fresh caught fish, all simmered in a zesty red wine sauce. This was amazingly good. Seafood is seafood, but the broth was on point. They serve with crusty bread, and soak it in the broth and it’s damn good. It’s not cheap at $ 30 — but it was plenty for 3 people in addition to our happy hour selections. Come here for happy hour, but really, come here for their cioppino.

A couple months ago my friend’s best friend came to visit from Oklahoma and she wanted to check out a seafood restaurant before she left. Since my friend lives in Newport I was looking around and found Fly N Fish. We arrived on a Saturday evening at about 6PM and had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. My husband and I shared the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and honestly I could have done without it. The«jumbo» shrimp wasn’t big and for 5 pieces it was pricey. To tell you the truth I was afraid of how little my entrée would be, but when I saw the Fra Diavolo I was satisfied. It was a huge portion of pasta and a lot of seafood… and the sauce… OMG it was so good! It had a great kick to it. I couldn’t even finish it and I was starving when it came out. I would definitely go back just for that!
