They took the buffalo wings to another level… Wow!!! I’ve tried thousands, but the ones I had tonight were by far the best of all!!! Even the simplest Caesar salad was full of flavor… If you’re looking for fancy dinner, it’s definitely not the place for you. But its the best bar food

This is a chill spot. Sucks to find parking if your driving, but that’s why we Cruise the cruisers. Also after a few bloody Mary’s Newport Beaches finest is not trying to mess with me and my bike!!! Well, less likely I guess. Anyways, good food, loud music, bunch of TVs, good drinks, good service. You just got to deal with the tourist and people from the I.E. Cus you know it’s hot as fish grease out there and their trying to cool down! Overall good lil spot to chill on a Sunday afternoon, have drinks and people watch.

I went with my daughter for breakfast on a Friday morning. The parking is the same as for the beach goers and so I was apprehensive that we would find parking but luckily we arrived just as someone was pulling out. The restaurant is in an old established building fronting the beach. The décor is decorated with beer signs and geared for the younger beach crowd. We sat ourselves at the bar facing the beach so we could people watch the people walking the the boardwalk. The service was a little spotty and we had to wait awhile until our server could give us a menu but served picked up a bit as she served us our coffee and took our order. I loved the coffee. It was steaming hot, fresh and flavorful. I ordered corned beef hash and my daughter had the machaca breakfast. My corned beef was sliced very thin and the potatoes were good but not outstanding. The machaca was good but looked a little non descrip. I would best describe the meal as hearty with good portions. The server seemed to have forgotten my wheat toast but it finally came near the end. We really had to wait to get our bill. Our server past us several times but finally I tripped her (not really).
I think I would come back but perhaps not for breakfast. Maybe happy hour? The beers are absolutely huge. Afterall, it’s the beach and you can’t beat that

Came here with my dad for breakfast on a Friday morning. Walked in and stood at front awkwardly waiting for someone to acknowledge us. After a few minutes, we assumed we should seat ourselves and waited again, this time for menus. Our server Kristina was not particularly friendly and had an attitude like she hated everything about her job. I would normally give her the benefit of the doubt that she was just overwhelmed with tables or maybe just having a bad day, but i would have liked to see at least a bit of a more pleasant attitude/​occasional smile. Service continued to be slow, which I actually wouldn’t mind if I didn’t have to flag someone down for a coffee refill. I feel like I would catch Kristina’s eye, but she would deliberately look away. Otherwise food was good.

Perfect. y placed on the boardwalk, this restaurant is very accustomed to the Newport Beach culture and serves a variety of classics when it comes to breakfast burritos, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Come on a weekday if you’re looking to fully enjoy and embrace this atmosphere that is Mutt’s!

Cool place to get some drinks. The food isn’t that great. Eat before you come and drink here.

Every time I’m in Newport I stop by for lunch but this time was a total disappointment, door man was really rude, pushed my wife because she didn’t like his attitude, refused to call manager and refused to apologize! Would never recommend this place to anyone!!!

I give Mutt Lynch three stars because of their food quality. I think it’s time to step up your game Mutt Lynch. I came in during Memorial Day Weekend and honestly I could not eat my food because it was pretty disgusting I ordered the steak tacos and it was dry, cold and had a funny taste. it’s sad that I can only enjoy beverages here.
one more thing it is also time to do some dusting the place is pretty dirty.
If you are only going in here for drinks then this place is great. the staff are always nice and ambience is fun. if they can improve those things then this place is a solid 5 star.

This bar is nearly ocean side. They have typical American bar food. I enjoyed the Cajun fries. The taco I had were just okay. My friend swears they are usually better. They play music and have a very casual atmosphere. Not my favorite, but not terrible by any means.

My friend was excited for me to try the place, and raved about their Coronaritas. It was Thursday night, and when we arrived at 9:15 PM, the place was almost empty. The man who checked our IDs told us if we were just there for drinks, to go up to the bar and order. They announced the kitchen was closing in 9 minutes… it was barely after 9PM.
My friend ordered a huge Coronarita, and convinced me to get a margarita of the same size. Hers rang up to $ 17, and mine to $ 15. I have never paid so much for a drink. It was good, but no better than a $ 5 margarita from El Torito or something. SO not worth $ 15.
To top it all off, we got KICKED OUT at 11 PM… ELEVEN PM… Even though they are supposed to be open until 2 AM (or at least 12 AM?). Just because they had no other customers. That is so wrong for a place to do. Especially a bar that’s supposed to be open late.
I still had a good ¹⁄₃ of my margarita left to go. I should have gotten half my money back. And the fact that the bartender let us get those huge drinks (that take a good amount of time to finish), and didn’t warn us that we would get kicked out before finishing… and let us pay all that money… So not right.
Not only that, but when I just called and asked to speak to the manager, I was answered with an unfriendly «Mutt Lynch’s.» No hello, no enthusiasm. I asked if the manager was in, and he said «No one’s on duty right now, can I help you with something?» I said «Oh okay, I’ll call back then.» And he HUNG UP. No goodbye. No thank you.
I will be sure to spread the word about this place, and encourage all my friends to head to any of the dozens of other bars in Newport for a drink.

Drinks were ok. Food was average. Kristina was our waitress and was really unfriendly and rude. Snotty attitude, threw the plates down, didn’t smile once. Almost walked out & definitely wouldn’t come back.

I came here while bar hopping for a friends birthday. I loved the atmosphere and it was right across from the beach which was great. We ordered a few beers from their great selection and ordered some nachos after watching another table being served theirs. These nachos were massive and were split between our table of 8. My only complaint is that they don’t have hard alcohol. My girlfriend and I ordered a margarita, which they served us, only to find out later that there was no Tequila in it. As far as we could see there was no sign saying there was no hard alcohol, nor did our waitress tell us that the margarita came without tequila. I would definitely come back here on a beach day with my friends for some beers and nachos.

Meets, and maybe exceed typical expectations of bar food. They offer a wide selection of drafty beers, and their schooner size beer is sexy! They serve their wings as the whole section, meaning, you get the drum and the flap. The nachos were OK, but they loaded it with beans which tasted line they were straight out of a can. You may want to skip the beans, or go easy on them.
I’m giving them 4 stars because it is a bar… you can’t really greatness. For a bar-​type restaurant, their service was excellent.

Standard, normal bar food, great place to watch football on a Sunday! Breakfast is actually the best meal I think there! Love this place!

This place is fun, loud, and paaacked inside. It was hot outside and stepping into the place for a cold beer turned out to be a great choice. They played a lot of country music, some edm, some hip hop, and the lights and views were nice. I liked that even though it was extremely packed inside, the bar was very fast and attentive, and there was a good clean up crew who was fast to clear out unused tables. A lot of the tables and chairs were wood, and were kinda sticky from what I imagine to be a mix of previously spilled beer/​soda, sanitizer spray, and sweat/​sunblock from the guests, so that was the only kinda gross thing, but the place is fun. EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE was drinking out of these huuuge glass «goblets,» so we ordered one each and paid $ 25.00! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Overall cool place, good service, and conveniently located right along the sand of the beach!

One of my favorite bars in Newport and it overlooks the water. Bartenders are friendly, quick, and serve a healthy drink.

If you come here on the weekends, there will be a long line out the door for this place! If you come on a weekday, you’ll find a spot to sit no problem!
Came after work and I got the huge beer full of their pear cider. It was so delicious and I was able to finish the whole thing! Also got some hot chicken wings-​and they are not that hot. If I was able to eat it, it’s not that spicy!!! Pretty good! I also recommend the calamari-​SO BREADED! Very yummy and goes well with your beer!
Customers are also able to change the songs in this place so sometimes it feels really young and fun, and other times it feels like old people.
Would I recommend it? Sure! It’s one of the busy bars along the beach

This is such a fun spot near the beach to grab a beer and some food. I like going for trivia on Wednesday nights. Their trivia is one of the best in the area, so much fun! I also like their bar food. Garlic Fries are a MUST. I usually find myself ordering the buffalo chicken wrap which is also a favorite. Trivia on Wednesdays starts at 8, but get there early to get a table!

I was drawn in my the Rekorderlig cider poster on the door and stayed for the food. I had The Max pizza. It’s so tasty and the ingredients were fresh.
In 2012, I’d had Rekorderlig cider in London. I wanted more but searched and found out they were not in the U.S. Fast forward to Nov 2015, when I spotted a Rekorderlig poster on the door of Mutt’s. I had to stop and have one, and it’s as light, fresh, and crisp as I remember. It comes in an 11.1 fl/​oz/​330ml sized can. So cute!

This review is for breakfast (7 — 11am weekends). Woe doggie is this place amazing!
We came here on a beautiful Sunday morning (⁶⁄₁₄) just from walking down Newport Peninsula. It is right on the water, dark would, loud rock and feels like breakfast at a pub. Graffiti carved into the wooden tables, but a KILLER menu.
They had things like bacon chocolate chip pancakes and huevos rancheros in a variety of styles (we didn’t try), skillet dishes, breakfast burritos, and something called loaded hash browns (sour cream, green onions, bacon… who doesn’t love bacon? My friend had these and RAVED about them.
I ordered one of the specials — blazing saddle scramble (just so I could say «we don’t need no stinking badges»). 3 eggs, texas jalepeno sausage, peppers, jack pepper cheese, and chopped fresh jalepenos. It was absolutely fantastic. Delicious.
I wish I had 5 stomachs so that I could have tried more. But this meal hit the spot after a fun night of celebrating my friend’s birthday.
I’d love to go back and try other items.
