This pizza is surprisingly good for a train station spot. Easily on par with a local pizzeria. Kinda expensive but that’s typical of food in train stations.($ 7 for one cheese and one pepperoni slice) Better alternative than McDonalds when gateway is closed. Lots of commuters and travelers drop in for a bite. There is also always Indian music playing!

I’m not sure why people say the pizza here is simply okay, I think it’s awesome. Their buffalo chicken slice is to die for. I go to pen station just for that pizza and go home lol. Only thing is it’s kinda pricy but the deliciousness makes up for that. Have lunch here you won’t regret it. **u guys should deliver at least in the Newark area**

I went to Triponi Pizza & Grill today before work to grab a slice. Everything was fine until the pizza came out the oven. The women behind the counter slid my pizza on the counter top and it slid off the paper plate, touching the bare countertop and the women at the register then proceed to slide my slice back on to the paper back with her elbow. The entire time this was happening I was looking through the glass that blocks the food from the customer’s. I was more upset of the simple fact she tried to still sell that slice to me rather than make me a new slice. This was very upsetting and disgusting. WHEREISMANAGEMENT?

Has to be the Worst Pizza Place PERIOD From the service to the quality to the price. You are better off going to a Supermarket and buying frozen pizza and eating right out of the box To quote Lewis Black «A Fresh Dump of S#$T «would be better It would also be served warm NOT like the way this pizza was/is served. Hopefully the Heath Department gets here first !!!

I will strongly recommend you to NEVER have any food from here. Worst pizza ever had… Moreover, the employees(people working) do not respect the customers. Avoid wasting your time.

Being a NYC native has left me bereft of the ability to enjoy pizza in NJ. Working in Newark, le sigh. Everyone swears by Queens Pizza but no, just stop. The pizza at Metro Café? It’s fascinating, it looks like pizza but more nope. This place tho, the pizza is solid. Great crust, fragrant sauce, gooey mozzarella. The pizza tastes way better than it looks. Unlike the other fake Jersey pizza slices.

3.5 stars. I lived in NJ for about 10 years, but now that I live in VA, I make a point of getting pizza every time I’m in the NJ/NY area. If I’d only eaten VA pizzas my whole life, I’d say this place is above average. The crust is really quite good. But as someone who used to live in NJ, I know better. Yes, the crust is definitely tasty. But the sauce was a little too tomatoey, a little too wet… I don’t know if they watered it down or something, but it was falling all over the place when I tried to eat it. The cheese was just OK — nothing special. Bottom line — If you’re looking for convenience, it’s probably one of the better options at Newark Penn Station.

Being from MD this pizza is really good. Not the best ever, but much better than I would expect from a hole in the wall with no seats. Very reasonable prices. I got a slice of Hawaiian and a soda for $ 5. I’ll be back next time I’m in Newark Penn Station.

Spicy beef & chicken patties at a pizza place? Yes! I always get their spicy beef patties when I’m waiting around for the next train back to Philly. They also have rice with different platters. In addition to pizzas, cheesesteaks, etc. Overall, pretty good spot while your waiting around in Penn Station, not exactly the best pizza you’ve ever had, but by far not the worst pizza…

Triponi Pizza & Grill is a solid place to grab a quick bite to eat. The pizza isn’t amazing but it’s not bad either. Triponi is worth eating at based on taste, price and convenience if you happen to be at Newark Penn Station. Reasons Why One Eats At Triponi Pizza & Grill 1: Convenience, It’s located in Newark Penn Station 2: One of few food options in Newark Penn Station. I believe it’s the only place in Newark Penn that sells pizza, Stromboli’s etc. 3: You’re starving; like Chris Farley’s «LAYOFFME I’M STARVING» character 4: Drunk munchies /and or hangover food 5: The staff is friendly, which is a good surprise. If I worked in Newark Penn Station I don’t know how friendly I would be. Price: Slice With Topping $ 3.25; Plain Slice $ 2.50, Lunch Special — 2 Plain Slices of Pizza and a 16 oz. Soda for $ 6 Note: Lacks consistency in terms of taste. I think that the main factor for this is due to how fresh the pizza is and how long it’s been sitting out on the heated counters.

I’ve hit this place in the morning for a breakfast sandwich when trains are delayed or for a pizza slice on the way home. It’s decent enough in Newark Penn Station and I haven’t got sick from their food. Nothing special but it does the job for me. Staff is always friendly too.

An average place to grab a quick bite when on the go. My review only pertains to the breakfast menu at this place. Tried the breakfast sandwiches on different occassions. They were just ok nothing really great.

I never thought to review this place until now. Considering it’s in a train station it’s pretty good pizza. The white and plain pizzas are pretty good. I agree with Mike P. that the buffalo chicken slice was really pretty bad. So just keep it simple and you should be pleasantly surprised by triponi. It’s the best deal you’ll find at Newark-Penn.

They have a variety of slices, plus entrees, heros. In addtion, they offer several combo specials, all good value. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had there. The staff is always warm and friendly, even when some of the customers, loiterers and pan-handlers are not. Considering how Penn Station has become gentrified in recent years, with New Yorkers cross-commuting to the Rock(Pru), meaning rents have risen, nevertheless, their prices are not unreasonable.

The pizza here in surprisingly good, considering it’s inside Newark Penn Station and not run by Italians. I’ll occasionally grab a slice here if I’m heading home from work and have time till the next train. If you walk across the corridor, you can get cheap beer to go with your pizza.

Stranded at Newark Penn Station and hungry? Grab a slice of typical New York style pizza. They’re crunchy and hot, filling and priced just right. I usually just get a plain slice, because the toppings just don’t really add much, if not take away from the pizza. I once tried the Buffalo chicken pizza here and really, really, really did not like it, and I love Buffalo wings. The beverages are sort of pricey, so I usually just drink from my trusty water bottle. If you’ve only got a little bit of time, don’t worry, they are usually fast. As far as the other things on the menu, the breakfast does look and smell good sometimes in the morning, probably when it’s not been sitting on the heat too long. I have tried the bagels a couple of times(as a backup for Zaro’s next door). I don’t normally like my bagel toasted, but at Triponi they are better toasted. They are also about 25 cents cheaper.

If you need a snack while waiting for a connection at Newark Penn, this place is a reliable spot and fairly cheap. I usually get either plain or pepperoni slices. Both quite good. Service is fast. They have beer as well as soda which works for me.

An Indian-Run Pizza Place Inside Newark Penn Station. The pizza and its crust here are surprisingly good. They also price each of their specialty pizzas at the same price. They have a nice variety of slices including whites, veggies, and atypical ones like buffalo pizza.
