Smoothie and juice machines are unsanitary! I came to this location probably over a year ago soon after it opened and got a smoothie. After ordering the smoothie I waited nearly ten minutes for it. During most of this waiting time I wondered if my smoothie had been forgotten because no one even attempted to make it until minute 7 or 8, despite many many people getting their orders. I was kind of alarmed that there was no dedicated smoothie/juice maker and it was the cashiers that would take a break from handling money to then make a smoothie or juice. While walking past the location on Jan 12th I remembered my earlier disappointing experience but decided to give it a second chance. This time was even worse. After paying for a smoothie the cashier returned to taking more customers and no move was made to make my smoothie. Another customer about 4 minutes after me ordered a juice from another cashier who immediately started on her order. About 8 minutes into it my cashier noticed me standing there and then started to make my smoothie. When she went to open the smoothie maker, she took the plastic insert out, proceeded to smell it and then said it wasn’t clean and asked someone else to go downstairs and get clean parts. I then waited until someone brought«clean parts» and continued to wonder how long this machine really was. Now on to the almond milk. The almond milk container was almost empty, producing one last drip for my smoothie. Someone else was dispatched to get more almond milk, yet it didn’t make it back in time for my smoothie which ended up with only a drip of almond milk. Finally after about 12 – 14 minutes I had my smoothie. Worse than the time wasted was the awful feeling that the machine used to make it was not sanitary. Why there is not a dedicated person making these juices and smoothies and instead its the cashiers who go from touching cash and then carrots is beyond me.

Not sure why this place doesn’t get more Unilocal love, so far, my food experience has been pleasant. I usually come here late nights after a long day of work around 7:30−8pm right before closes, so you just know all of the food has been sitting around all day since open. I absolutely loathe going to those«price per pound» open salad and hot bars around that time, since immediately after you pay full price for that old food, it goes right into the garbage; you basically paid for garbage. That’s definitely not the case here. It’s actually pretty darn good even after sitting around all day, which makes me believe that their ingredients start off really good. This is a company that claims they’re all about local, sustainable, organic, and seasonal ingredients, and quite honestly, that quality it is expressed through the food. Everything tastes wonderful, from their chef inspired salads, quinoa bowls, hot paninis, soups, and sandwiches. Although, you need to depend on the counter line cooks in making the food correctly. Often, they are double checking what goes in the creation, missing some things, adding different things, so there are certainly some inconsistencies here. You would think that the staff would be better trained for the price you pay for the food. Overall, it’s a great place if you are looking for a fresh, guilt-free, healthier alternative in a clean establishment with attentive staff.

Did not even realize this location was up in my hood on the UES a block away from the 86th street subway stop. Dropped in the other day to grab a quick lunch. Always nice to have another healthier meal option in the area. Not a bad spot, bright, clean, organized, with a seating area in the back. It’s one of their smaller locations. Still, these places seem like a Pret A Manger knockoff. Same style of sandwiches and lunch products. But way pricey. Only difference is they make salads and have more soups available. It’s a good choice for healthier food options if watching the diet. The turkey sandwich and pea soup I had were pretty good. The shop itself is bright, clean, organized, with a little seating. It’s one of their smaller locations. As others have noted the staff working here is very friendly and helpful.

Why do you have the manager preparing food with no gloves on, then walking around the floor eating his roll? All while guests are upset and getting the wrong food prepared? I work near here so I come quite often. The staff always looks miserable as well.

Go there a lot! Never the same. Sometimes I get the toasted bread(which is amazing) sometimes I don’t. But food is always really good. Ordering on seamless isn’t always as quick then just going there instead. Overall great to have in the neighborhood

I walked in with my sister for a quinoa bowl. The food was delicious, just as any other Fresh&co stores’ bowls. But what I loved the most was the costumer service. I couldn’t finish the whole bowl by myself. When Ira saw this, he walked up to me, kindly asking whether I would like to take it home with me. He took my salad, placed it in a bag, with a fork and tissue. He also tried to do the greetings in korean(I am korean by the way) Just wanted to compliment his kindness and his positive attitude, because his bright energy and spirit made my day!

Way over priced. $ 13. I expect more than a 4/5oz piece of chicken. With the sautéed veges instead of grains… Maybe some olive oil instead of water? 2 sides included barely filled each portion of the container it came in. Go to whole foods instead. What a ripoff.

The old menu used to be better. However this is about the service. Stepped in for a quick bowl, it was completely empty. One person was ordering a bowl but the guy was focused on trying to flirt with her instead of taking my order. He was standing doing nothing at one point purposely trying to avoid eye contact. So I left, no point on spending money or eating at a place that doesn’t want to serve you. If that’s how little they care about service in front of your face, I’d be scared of how they prepare the food.

There’s good, and then there’s GREAT. Having been to other Fresh & Co’s, I can say that this location is their BEST! The staff is definitely the EDGE. Juan and Miquel serve up some of the tastiest entrees, always with a smile. Those guys are awesome! The ladies upfront, always take care of my online ordering, and it’s always perfect when I get it. Tell the truth, I’d like to steal a few of their employees! Fresh serves great food, at an unbeatable price… it’s my go-to spot on the upper east side.

I would have never expected this kind of turn around anywhere ever! Honestly, I can’t even believe this is the same fresh and co. I look forward to Coming in the morning, the staff is over the TOP friendly and orders processed within a normal time frame. When not serving customers it’s easy to notice the employees tidying up and restocking. The manager always seems to be nearby working and it’s my perception that he’s a hard worker as he speaks nicely to the staff and it seems they listen to him. I just am impressed!

Ordered in advance. Got here and they hadn’t even started my order. 15 minutes later and a line starting to grow, the one girl decides to start reading up on how to make a smoothie. 20 mins for a smoothie I ordered 15 minutes before I set foot in the store. 35 minutes for a smoothie with no ice in it.

Excellent. Service is fast and helpful, food is so fresh and delicious that you can actually smell their delicious soups and stews when rounding the corner where this is located. Very professional management and quite clean. Love this place.

Ordered from here once on Seamless. Had to call twice to make sure it arrived — never going to bother with that again. Dined in: the food is good; service varies. Some staff members are much more competent than others. My guy was well-intentioned but slow and confused and some rando decided to cut in front of me in line because he was apparently kind of a craptastic person. ANYHOO, the food tasted fine but the whole ordeal did require a bit of patience. I had the Bangkok bowl and it was delicious. I love me some quinoa. Their offerings are nice and healthy, so if you are in the mood for that kind of thing and you’re not in a hurry, I’d say sure, why not check this place out.

My bestie and I were pretty famished since we walked about 20 blocks in the snow. Fresh, organic and local caught my eye as we walked by. So we decided to grab a quick dinner and I’m glad we did. I ordered a mesculan salad with lime chicken, roasted red peppers, carrots and broccoli. For dressing to give it a light kick was an herb lime. Let’s just say the salad was delicious, colorful, fresh and light. I was relatively pleased. The employees are polite and sweet. The establishment was clean and had salt and pepper on the tables. You do get a free piece of bread to go with your salad. Unfortunately, it’s about two days old and hard as a rock. You can use it almost as a teething toy for a baby. Lol I will be back:)

Great fresh lunch choice. Lots of veggies! Steve(I think he is the manager) has helped me twice. He is friendly and always smiling. Turquoise(she was near the salads) was awesome! She wished me a wonderful hump day. She also made a great recommendation when I asked. She said«I have not eaten much veggies until I worked here». She had me try the maple brussel sprouts. They were great! A plus. Go Steve and turquoise.

I am a huge fan of Fresh & Co. and order from them almost every other day near my office. When this location opened up I was really excited — and I want to say that this review is purely on delivery and my first time ordering from this location — I placed the order on line through their website — and under special instructions for their Gaucho Salad — I made specific substitutions. All Romaine versus Romaine and Kale No Beans(Tomatoes Instead) No Scallions(Crispy Onions Instead) Ordered and paid for Extra Crispy Onions and Dressing on the side I got the order pretty quickly — about 35 minutes; but the order was messed up. My instructions were ignored — even though I called to make sure they were received — but it was not delivered as specified — and I didn’t receive the extra items I paid for. So I called back — the person that answered the phone was very apologetic, I believe it was the same person I spoke with earlier. Anyhow, she said she would send another salad as specified. My new salad arrived and I received my side of Crispy Onions, but they packed the wrong dressing that was supposed to come with the Gaucho Salad — and the Un-fried Crispy Chicken was either Lemon Herb or Chipotle Lime Chicken — possibly a combo of the two mixed in. I called back and spoke with the same person — and Thanked her for sending me a 2nd salad — but again it was messed up — and that I will never order delivery from them again. I would venture in before taking a chance of them F*cking up the order — they need to read the instructions carefully and know what goes into their signature salads. And the way I see it — I was short changed a side of salad dressing — will not harp on 50 cents — but its the principal.

I am one of the pickest eaters, and rarely do I like vegetables. But this food is amazing! They were fast, I ordered the Lemen Herb Chicken, agave sweet potatoes, maple glazed brussel sprouts, and brown rice. It was all just an explosion of flavor. The clam chowder was the best I have had in a long time, so full of flavor. I loved that I was able to see and pick out what I wanted to put on my plate! Not a long wait, you can take it to go, or there is limited seating

Wow! Not a bad experience. Some of my pals recommended this place to go to for lunch so I gave it a shot. Came here for the first time and can’t complain. Food was pretty good and warm. Portions were fair and wasn’t too expensive. Staff is also very, very nice. Almost every one of them greeted me and smiled. I realized they have the level up feature as well do you can pay with your phone and earn rewards just like Hale & Heartys. This saves a lot of time and is very convenient. There are salads and platters as well as sandwiches. Plenty of drinks. Teas and organic drinks. Place is very clean too since they opened not too long away. Only problem is the seating. It is a bit tight and crammed. Tables are decorated with real herbs like silver thyme and basil.(not sure if it’s there to eat). I would recommend this place and sure will come back to try the other stuff!

Wow that was enjoyable. On my way to Fairway to grab a ready made salad there was a young lady(probably the same age, who knows) handing out flyers for the newly opened Fresh & Co. With the flyer you get a Spindrift beverage with a market fresh plate, salad, or quinoa bowl purchase. Sweet something different for lunch! Popped in to the new location where dirty ol’ Chirping Chicken used to be. Nicely renovated ready for business. Jumped right in and ordered a chipotle lime chicken over a bed of quinoa(you get two sides with it) ordered collard greens with turkey bacon and carrots, and for the finale ordered beans with corn. The chicken(natural, hormone and antibiotic free) was tasty and tender with a great flavor.(Prep guy squeezed some lime juice on it for a nice touch). Collards were so yummy. Quinoa was good(not much thought about it, but good). Black, kidney and corn mix was spicy but delightful. For the beverage they had a non sweetened bubbly lemon drink. Nice! They also have a self serve fountain with iced teas, and they make fresh juices. Great healthy options for the neighborhood and for lunch, dinner and even breakfast. They have omelettes until 10:30am. I wanna try those out. Dishes are customizable in terms of sides. Sandwiches and salads come either premade or on the salads you can create your own. On my way out I discovered a nutritional guide with the breakdown of their dishes. Very useful! Overall a great experience and I will be back.
