my wife and i had the most wonderful meal this sunday We first tasted the master piece culinary creations of Antonio in a little town outside of Rome which we visited just before they moved from Italy to New Rochelle about eight years ago. They moved to new rochelle and everything is still the same. The experience was just like it was in Italy. The menu is not written down but the waitress will describe it from memory. The quality of food is based on the superior ingredients the arugala salad had the most tender leaves, the branzino fish was fresh and firm. Rina manages the restaurant and clearly has a very good staff to ensure everyone is treated like family. I liken the experience to going to a family dinner in Italy. So if you like olive garden then this is not the place. If you like to try things that you never had, and most likely not available anywhere outside of the Italian country side this is the place.

Rina and Antonio know exactly what they’re doing. I haven’t been back since they expanded, but if they’ve retained even half of what they had going when they first opened as a tiny 12-top, it’s spectacular. REAL Italian cooking: Bucatini, sepia, guanciale, lamb ragu — stuff you can’t get anywhere else around here. No cheese on chicken at Spadaro!

Recently, we celebrated my husband’s birthday at Spadaros and it was just a wonderful experience from beginning to end! It was our first visit and we were greeted warmly upon entering, given tasty bread and our wine order was taken. Aries, our waiter, was so very helpful with his suggestions. I have many food allergies, and I truly appreciated his time and care. We had a refreshing melon appetizer, and then entrees of the most out of this world delicious pasta dishes! Mine had the best gluten-free pasta I have ever eaten. My husband’s white tiramisu was served with a candle and a song, led by the Italian singer Pasquale. My husband said it was the best dessert he ever ate. Lovely Reina and her husband Chef Antonio greeted us warmly and made us feel like we were guests in their home. Dining does not get better than this — attentive, kind staff serving fresh, delicious, well prepared food in a warm, relaxing, friendly atmosphere!

Continues to decline rapidly! It was a great spot for authentic Italian cuisine. Now it’s average quality with above average prices. A huge disappointment!

Wow, I didn’t expect as much as we got from a place in a strip mall. They have no menus which kind of scared me — is that entrée $ 19 or $ 39? We had an amazing Green Eggplant appetizer, followed by mixed green salad. The salad was one of the best I have ever had, everything was so fresh and flavorful, if every salad tasted like this we would all be vegetarians. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan(which is my defining dish in an Italian restaurant) and he got pork chops. They were good, but I think we didn’t order the right things as they were just OK. Dessert was tiramisu classico, and delicious. We will definitely be back! PS– ended up at $ 130 with a bottle of wine

One word: unbelievable. Probably the best Italian food around. Like I stepped off the plane at Fiumicino airport and went here.

Ate at Spadaro 3 times in the past 4 months and I am so disappointed with this restaurant. It was such a great place to eat before they remodeled and expanded the restaurant. The food is not as good and just not worth the expensive price they charge. The pasta use to be so good now it seem’s they are not focused on the quality of the food anymore but more on raising the price. I remember every table was always filled on a Saturday night and noticed a quarter of the dining room was empty on a Friday night. They need to go back to the original Spadaro experience. Don’t think I will come back for a while. I hope Rena is reading these comments. It seems I am not the only one that feels this way. Too Expensive for average Italian food. Lots of new good Italian Restaurants nearby that are much better. Hate to give Spadaro 2 stars but I am being generous. Just hope they take Unilocal comments serious. This was one of the best restaurants in Westchester at one time and has gone down hill!

Spadaro’s is one of my family’s favorite restaurants. We are regulars and always leave happy and satisfied with the food, the experience, and the price. We are really glad that they expanded; now we go more often since there is more space for all of us. The old world Italian dishes are made with love and it shows. It is hard for me not to order the prosciutto roll, the fettuccine with wild boar ragu, and the white tiramisu every time, but when I venture out, I am never disappointed. They have a bunch of traditional Italian dishes and many unique items as well. There’s a lot to choose from so I can understand why some patrons would prefer a menu, but we know the regular food choices well, so the lack of menu is no issue for us. We always listen for the specials and then ask for whatever we want if we don’t hear it. The waitstaff is a really friendly group/family. We enjoy interacting and taking our time eating, talking, and relaxing. Also, Rina makes the best espresso martini!

This was not a bad place. The staff could be more attentive. I had to drink wine out of a water glass. They hardly came up to us except to take orders or collect dirty dishes. The cold antipasto was not bad except for the prosciutto which tasted a bit weird to me. The meatballs and spaghetti were not the best. Tasted a bit commercial to me including the sauce. I had the lamb chops; it wasn’t bad but it was not enough. I would have liked if it was offered with another item such as potatoes or pasta or something!!! I was so hungry after my meal. I also tasted the chicken scarpiello which had too much black pepper and it tasted a bit like Progresso’s Chicken Rice. For the dessert I had tiramasu but it didn’t taste like it. It was a bit on the powdered milk side. I could taste it in the cream. And there was entertainment in such a small place. That guy has to stop singing he was giving me a migraine. How about a nice quiet dinner! Everyone at my table were counting down to when he would take breaks between songs. We couldn’t even have a nice conversation without having to yell across the table… In conclusion this is a high grade commercial restaurant. It has more flavor than regular commercial food that’s it! The music is a bit too loud. So will not return anytime soon.

I notice that this restaurant removes unfavorable reviews, such as mine as posted below. It is the worst restaurant that I have been to inn recent memory. and the fact that they edit the Unilocal reviews to their own advantage is a stunner. I dare you, SpDARO, TORE-POSTMYREVIEWEVENTHOUGH it was not favorable. Nancy Young By the way,$ 11. for a glass of ordinary red wine which probably came out of a jug. RIPOFF !!!

We’ve been to Spadaro’s about two times and each time we were totally satisfied with what we chose. Yes, I’d certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone, that is if they like italian food… unfortunately we think twice before eating out due to the cost. I’m Italian and was brought up on italian food… this is as good as you can get!.. «Tutti a tavola, e buon appetito!»…

Everytime I come here, it gets progressively worse. The servers are friendly and I love the cold appetizers(buffalo mozz or meat/cheese plate). I visited this past week and our entrees were cold when we received them. My mom’s carbonara was more al dente than I’d like. I ordered the branzino with a side of broccoli rabe(also cold). They asked me if I’d like my fish deboned after all the food came; it took forever and came back in small pieces. I will not be coming back. I did love it once but I’ve been disappointed one too many times.

You can taste the love. And yes, they expanded the dining room. But you can’t fault them, they have run a very successful business and take pride in their meals and voila! The need to expand. I went there on a Saturday night with reservations and we still had to wait, maybe 20 mnutes, No problem! We were greeted at the bar with a friendly hello and waited for the best meal ever. Rena is lovely. You must try her cheesecake, It’s amazing.

#1 tip: there is no menu thus no prices listed(comes out to $ 33/person). #2 tip: food is family style so for 4 people get 2 starters(mussels were good and salad was basic) and one main dish: i recommend the veal. The restaurant is very small so call ahead, the black pasta was good, it surprised me but others might think the squid ink too messy and salty(but as i said, get the veal instead) Cheese cake dessert: skip it.
