Pow Burger

NOT the best burger in Westchester by a long shot.
Ok so I was looking forward to trying this place for a while. I’m a burger enthusiast and have eaten and prepared some of the best. The Unilocal reviews and photos definately put this on my radar. Not what I was expecting. 18 years in the food industry can make you a lil nitpicky.
2 employees. Grill guy not so easy on the eyes. No way he has any clue how to cook a burger. Girl at the counter was very nice but not a perfect example of hygiene. Put gloves on after wiping her nose and butt. Seriously. But no worries she put gloves on. That said my ideal burger joint has employees that don’t need to wear awkward plastic gloves and grill men who know what med rare is.
The patty was too thick not to take a tmepature. I understand joints that just cook to med well and have thin patties. But this was about an inch thick and as grey a burger I’ve ever eaten. One slice of skinny tomato below the patty (almost non existent) Shredded lettuce atop falling out all sides disrupting sauces, perfect pickle and onion slices, and a barely there slice of cheese that reminded me of a day old whopper. And the bun I saw online was a big draw for me. Traditional thick white bun. But it was not. I think was a Martins Potato Bun pulled directly from the fridge and not grilled at all. Cold.
So.. Cold bun, weak tomato, overcooked burger by a totally incapable employee in a somewhat lacking and dirty atmosphere.

The prices are right but the burger only tastes like potential. I had a patty melt that really wanted to be better than it was. It was close but no cigar. It was o-​k. If you want a good patty melt I have to recommend a chain restaurant (unfortunately)… Jakes’s Wayback burger makes an excellent one.

We called in an order and the girl on the phone was very friendly and responsive. Plus there! We ordered burgers, chili fries and the onion strings. We enjoyed everything but the chili on the fries. The chili is a HUGE miss. But overall, everything was pretty good! And you can’t beat the price!

Take your money to burgerking… this burger was awful. The patties were overcooked and my bacon was burnt to a crisp… I came here seeing the amazing reviews. Maybe they had an off day but was just overly greesy and burnt, probably one of the worst burgers I have ever had.

Very good for a hole in the wall burger joint. This place has very good burgers and fries. I recommend this place for a quick bite !!!

Very very good burger, better than Shake Shack.

This is a cute little Burger spot. It’s has a 60’s theme to it. The burgers & fries are really good. My BF had the chili and didn’t like it (and he’s a big fan of Chili). If you are looking for a quick bite and want a good fresh burger you will like this spot.

Best bang for your buck! And the food is amazing. Best tasting burger in Westchester County. Everything is cooked to perfection and if you ever have a issue — Ray and staff will make it right every time. Wish this place had other locations but hopefully I’ll catch the POW Truck in my travels.

Random stop for lunch on the way to the airport. What luck! Perfect old fashioned burger, crisp, hot fries and tasty shake. Exactly what a burger shack should be.

A good burger spot for the area.
Been coming here on and off since 2012. At first, the burgers and taste of this place were great — though for some, the price can be a little steeper. The taste started to disappear after coming here for several months (though I was a fan of the shoestring fries), so I gave it a break from returning.
I came this past week and ordered what I always order — 2 bacon cheeseburgers and fries — and while not bad at all, it wasn’t what it used to be. At $ 16+ and even with bacon and cheese added, it’s a little pricey for two smaller burgers that just tasted average to me. The cup of fries were still good though. They have several other items on the menu, but I’ll always be a bacon cheeseburger and fries guy.
I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to a place like 5 Guys at all aside from price maybe.
I’ve always picked up, so I can’t comment on the eat in experience, but they do have plenty of tables and a nice theme inside. From what I have seen, tables and place in general have always been clean and well maintained. If you like those «retro» glass Coke bottles, they have those here if you want to order with your meal. I’ve always called my order in about 10 minutes before coming in and my order has always been ready for me.
Employees are generally friendly. I noticed they hired the girl from next door — Jenn — who was always a good and friendly worker. The most recent time I was here (last week), the cook just gave me a look like he had better things to do while he was at the grill flipping his burgers. He’d really be the only one I’ve ever had an issue with inside.
Located in a small and sometimes busy parking lot, use caution when entering here.
Overall, a good alternative for the area for a decent burger — just a little pricey for it’s size and taste. If you like condiments with your take out order, I would suggest checking before you leave if you have enough.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in New Rochelle. After having the burger and fries i havent been to 5 Guys or Smash Burger since. Plenty toppings and they dont cheap out on chili/​cheese on the fries. Food was quick and flavorful. I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Update: If my review were fake, I wouldn’t know that you have Jaritos in that fridge next to the dispensers and soda fountain (not pictured anywhere)… But I do.

Great burger joint– has that classic 50’s vibe– small, clean– workers are friendly.
Tried the Patty Melt with Bacon– perfect. Some would assume that a Patty Melt couldn’t be failed– but there’s surely a technique that needs to be met to get the juices of the beef to meld with the grilled onions, cheese, and bread. This hit it.
I’m on a diet (because summer is around the corner) and so I got the grilled chicken but I have to say– it was actually better than most bland GC’s I’ve had in my life. The chicken was spiced well and juicy. The bun was soft but had a touch of pull to it. You can add the works to it if you want– but at that point– just get the burger, right.
My cheat was the chilli cheese fries we both shared. Had Cheese Wiz (Philly style) and a fairly thick but well seasoned chilli on the crispy thicker cut fries. Very good but it’s heavy as CCF’s normally are. If you’re feeling indulgent and indulgent only– get these.
Anyway, well made burger, kind workers, and a clean with no frills environment. They are who they are– and we like that about them.

Similar to their main competitor, Smash Burger, but better. Burgers are flavorful, but can be overcooked. The ingredients, especially their awesome potato bun, are fresh. The service is good and fast, but I have to knock off a star for all three employees being on their phones the entire meal. Not professional. The service here is great, but I don’t think you should be allowed to browse your cell phone while your customers eat.
Will return. Smartphone employees can’t keep me away from enjoying a very good burger and fries.

Best burger in West Chester ! Fried Oreos were awesome too!!! I hear they are getting a food truck. Great idea

Try there crispy chicken sandwich with aioli sauce and pickles! The bomb! The bread was fresh and the chicken was not greasy at all, light and tasty as well as fresh ingredients. The sweet potato fries were done just right. Also had the fried Oreos, first time ever! Pretty good. The store was clean and the service was good. Brought my food to my table.
Will be back for sure, thankfully it’s not close to me or Id be there every day!
Next trying their burger!

This is my new go to spot for burgers in New Rochelle.
I’m going to keep this review quick and painless.
1. This place looks like a crappy fast food joint on the outside. When you go in, you will be pleasantly surprised. They have enough seating for about thirty people or so and they tried to model it after an old school diner.
2. Order your burger «pow style». The patty is juicy and will not overwhelm you with grease. All the veggies are nice and crunchy. The pow sauce tastes similar but better than the famous «Big Mac» sauce. The bun is also delicious and will not be drowning in grease.
3. order the sweet potato fries! They’re a huge portion so if you have a friend, you definitely want to share
4.i had a small vanilla shake was was also awesome. They hand dip their shakes which is an added bonus!
I will come back to try their hot dogs. If you pass by this place and it appears to be empty, don’t be misled. They get a lot of bursts of take out traffic. I was the only one there at the time and before I knew it there was a line to the door. The parking lot here is tight but manageable.
This is a burger worth traveling a few miles for. If you’re in neighboring areas of new Rochelle and are craving a great straight to the point quality burger… Take the trip!
