Great Wall Chinese & American Restaurant

Awful place. Keep driving! Skimpy on food. Lunch specials do not include any soup or egg roll, just rice and the entrée. they pack the food in leaky, flimsy styrofoam «to-​go» containers. They are not nice. They don’t smile or say please and thank you. I have been in there at least 3 times during lunch time and never a soul is there. I wont be going back for a 4^th time. No value for your dollar.

Although the Chinese restaurant is the best in town, the woman who owns it is incredibly rude. I am a loyal customer and she overcharged me for my order. When I complained, she gave me seven cents back in return and started cursing at me in Chinese. She overcharged me almost double the price for my one order, and started to make excuses for it. Such as, that the sauce I asked for was extra, when she always offers it free of charge, and told me that since I paid with my credit card there was an additional fee. I have never heard of such a thing. Like I previously stated, their Chinese food is phenomenal but the woman who owns the place really should start respecting her customers more. My advice is to look over your receipt thoroughly before leaving. Tonight my mother ordered the same combo I did for a totally different price and I was appalled.

Terrible… I work 25 min away, had my husband call in food before i left work, she said 15 mins, I get there she is eating in back, never washed her hands then comes up to the front ask what my order was, they forgot to make it, went in car, after 15 minutes, I go in ask for a discount after forgetting to make food, she said no I put 10 dollars on counter, she told me no, I kindly said no thank you I don’t want it and walked out, she came after me, yelling with her husband, would not get off my car, to the fact that the cops had to come, she is crazy and dirty. Never again !! Plus always rude on the phone!

3÷28÷15− Take out from here; large selection of food for family and friends. The food was ok, but not great. Egg rolls; not so good!
There are better places in the area, which are far better.

Our new favorite Chinese place! $ 20 minimum for delivery is what I’m told when I call and the prices are very reasonable, lower than my previous favorite Chinese restaurant and others we’ve tried in the past. They take a little while to deliver sometimes since, I believe, it’s just the two people working there, but the food is DELICIOUS!!! The fried items aren’t too greasy which is hard to find for Chinese food locally, the appetizers are just so good — vegetable spring rolls taste just like what my friend’s mom makes! Yum!

Called for delivery, told it would be a $ 40 minimum. Googled it, I live exactly 10 minutes away. Pretty rude and unnecessary. Won’t call back.

After having take out from this restaurant several times using a credit card, the lady on the phone decided they would no longer accept credit cards, and that it was cash only. It wasn’t until I told her to cancel the order that she decided she would recant, and now accept cards. Extremely poor customer service, and rather sketchy business policies. Call the Chinese place downtown for the best delivery practices that hold to their word, and superior food.

Cheap, yummy, and authentic. I’ve been ordering takeouts here for many years. This tiny, unassuming restaurant has been open for a long time, so you know that means the food is good! It’s a family owned Chinese restaurant.

Since my husband is so picky about Chinese and said this is his FAVORITE place ever. I have to give it 5 stars. Truly, the most amazing sweet and sour chicken I’ve ever had! SO. CRISPY.
My husband said it was the best fried wontons and dumplings he’s ever had too. FANTASTIC!

BEST PLACE IN TOWN! Most delicious Chinese food I have ever had. I always go there. The owners are really nice and they treat you like family.

My favorite & go-​to takeout Chinese food in New Milford, I won’t go anywhere else. I’ve been going here since they opened & have always loved the food. Reasonable prices, great lunch menu (and cheap!) and they deliver throughout the entire town, even pretty far away. The owner may sometimes come across as being somewhat short with people, but she’s actually extremely nice, just doesn’t speak the greatest English. You can see the chef making everything right there behind the counter, too. Overall, very good for takeout Chinese.

Okay, I can only imagine that prior review was written by local competitors. It is a family-​owned place, the folks there are terribly kind and prepare your food to-​order (and quickly). There are only a handful of tables there for your convenience and no waiters to give you this alleged ‘worst service.‘
Overall: Great food, great prices, kind people, tables to sit at, delivery, great hours (as far as Western Connecticut goes), and easy access. Sesame and General Tso’s chicken are great. Same with the chicken and broccoli.
No news on the buffet. I’ve never done such a thing.

Decent Chinese take-​out food. My co-​workers and I have ordered it a couple times. Once can expect to find the standard beef and broccoli, sesame chicken, egg rolls, etc. Prices are reasonable. Quality has varied from so-​so to pretty good. But, if you need some grub in a pinch or need a Chinese take-​out fix, this will work.
