So my husband and I decided to give this restaurant 3 tries. First one horrible experience we went with another couple and we didn’t get our dinner until about an hour after ordered they weren’t even that busy they were all dancing though. Oh and my Mac and cheese straight out of the box. So that was great. We decided to give it another try. Second time wasn’t too bad. Third time was the charm. Never again. Customer service was shitty. The waiter decided that filling her salt and pepper shakers since she was leaving soon was far more important than filling our drinks. Took 10 min before asking us if we wanted more of the same drinks and took her even longer to bring them to us. Our dinner took at least 50 min. I was extemely annoyed because by then I wasn’t even hungry anymore. 80 dollars for shitty service and barely eating, my broccoli was cold too. the management is mediocre. Walking around with asking if everything was okay but not really listening I said it’s okay. And she smiled and kept walking. Great job. and why do your employees look better dressed than you? At least wear a button up. never going again. Food isn’t all that. I would recommend LONGHORN. This is not the Texas roadhouse we are used to. We have eaten many times in Kentucky and every time it’s wonderful and a great experience. Very disappointed.

Food is good for the price. I’ve been here a number of times and a few main complaints that I have are about the wait as well as some staff. Definitely wouldn’t suggest this restaurant if you have a party larger than 5 people because the wait becomes longer. Also inconsistency in terms of knowledge for the staff. When our family visited a third time we were told we couldn’t have a high chair in a certain section when we’ve been seated in that same area and have had a high chair on the other occasions. We were told we should speak to a manager who then told us that the wait staff was misinformed and that the section we were seated in could have a high chair. Call ahead seating is a bit of a joke considering you still have to wait just as long to be seated. The cost for food and drinks is definitely more reasonable than some places.

It was good. They weren’t super packed but our food took a long time to come out. I ordered my steak medium and my boyfriend ordered his medium rare. Mine came out medium rare and his came out medium well. His was too well done even for me! The potatoes and corn were nothing to write home about. Although my steak was rarer than I would have preferred, it was a very, very good steak. I think they went a little overboard with the mesquite. I wanted a good steak and I got a good steak, so I was satisfied overall, but I felt bad that my boyfriend’s was so well done. I’d give it another try.

Ok, so I want to preface this by saying that I love visiting the Texas Roadhouse in Manchester and have had nothing but great experiences there. I guess the chain can be pretty inconsistent, because my experience at this relatively new location in New London was sub-par. The quality of the food was fine, but it was the quality of the service that warranted this two star review. My friend and I had been shopping at the outlets by the shore. It was 7:20pm and we were starving! She suggested we find the closest Texas Roadhouse. I called this location and asked if they were open. They said yes, they were open, and I told them we would be arriving in 20 minutes. We arrived at 7:40pm to have the hostess tell us they were closing at 8pm. We looked shocked. I had called and let them know I would be arriving in 20 minutes. Any good hostess would have politely informed me over the phone that I was welcome to stop in, but they would be closing shortly. I was pissed that nobody informed me of this and we had driven 20 minutes out of our way to visit a restaurant that was about to close! The hostess saw the shocked look on my face and said«no, it’s ok you can take your time. We are just going to lock the doors at 8pm.» My friend and I weren’t thrilled, but we were starving so we sat down. It took the server forever to come to our table. We had been seated 10 – 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Hilarious– wouldn’t you think they would want to take our orders as soon as possible if they were closing soon? When the server finally came over she rushed us and made it very clear she wanted to get us in and out as soon as possible. We ordered fried pickles, BBQ chicken, and sweet potato. The food was fine, but we felt rushed the entire time. The service was not friendly. What a shame, since I have had such great service at the Manchester location. Anyway, I really think the service here needs to get their act together. Should have told us on the phone they were about to close. And since they did not, they shouldn’t have rushed us. I’m sure we came on an off night, and I would be willing to give this place another try. Maybe not for a few more months though!

Eat there sat night 1÷30÷16. Place was vey busy and loud. Waitress was awesome, food was good a bit over cooked for medium steak. Feel rushed as they try to flip tables fast. Over all just average. Would recommend the outback instead of in area.

I really don’t understand all of the hype about this restaurant. It’s always jam packed, minimum of a 30 minute wait every time. I’ve been three times and the food is mediocre at best. The first time, I got the bacon cheeseburger. It was HUGE but nothing special. The second time I ordered the Caesar salad, the dressing was bland and the chicken was so dry. Tonight was my third time and I decided to go with the Country Veg Plate. With this dish you get to choose four of the sides. Little did I know until you ordered that a salad has to be one of those sides, so I got stuck with another yucky Caesar salad. I also ordered the corn, applesauce, and sweet potato. The corn wasn’t strained so it looked, and tasted, like it was sitting in dishwater. The applesauce wasn’t anything spectacular, it could have easily have come out of a Motts jar. The sweet potato was burnt so it was brown and icky inside. Maybe it’s because I don’t like steak and I’m just missing out on an awe inspiring experience by not choosing it but from the look of my sister’s boyfriend’s steak this past time we went, I certainly will never order it if I find myself in another one of these chain restaurants(not by choice). His steak looked perfectly fine around the edges and was totally and completely raw on the inside. Maroon colored, practically still mooing, RAW. However, the wait staff is always very friendly and the margaritas are good, which is why I’m giving it the one star, but I DONOT recommend.

My experience was interesting to say the least. We used the call ahead and were seated fairly quickly. We ordered an appetizer of fried pickles which were very salty. Two of the people at my table were not given what they ordered and had to ask the waitress’s to bring the right thing for them. The portobello chicken was delicious and very moist. The waitress Liani was very nice at the beginning of the meal but then towards the end seemed to loathe our presence. It was pretty off putting and the table was not happy. It was an okay experience, I’ve had better here, hopefully it will be better next time. The waitress we had last time, Heidi was amazing!!!

I tried writing a fair, balanced review, but it was apparently too long to post, so here is my «tip»: bad service at the bar, way too LOUD for normal conversation, no communication between kitchen, waitstaff, and management, pedestrian chain food served cold.

I’ve been to this location 2 separate times and on both occasions a steak had to be sent back. I think the chefs may need more training since a medium-rare comes out medium and a medium comes out well. The wait staff is very good though. One of my visits, the waitress was getting frustrated that our steak(which was being brought by a manager) hadn’t arrived at the table. Great to check out but gotta have patience here.

For this location to be relatively new to the town and area I will be honest yet open minded as well… The portion sizes are pretty big, my lady’s food got sent back twice and STILL wasn’t right and my steak was luke warm and semi seasoned, manager removed the app we ordered and gave me a coupon for a free entrée on my next visit.. Décor is pretty cool and the bread and butter UHMAYZING, and very addictive as well… Maybe in a few months when the newbie kinks are worked out this location will be a five star rating(@ least from me neway)… Overall a good first experience

We tried using the ‘call ahead seating’. I called at 7pm, gave my name and received a confirmation # by phone. When I arrived to check in about 7:25pm, I gave the # and was told there was no record of me, but sorry for the mix-up and they’ll get me seated as quickly as they can. At 8:15pm, while waiting to ask what sort of time frame they intended when they said ‘quickly as they can’, I observed 5 empty tables just from where I stood. The hostess said it would be just 10 more minutes and they don’t seat the tables right as they become vacant — they have to stagger the seating for timing. I assume this means to avoid the kitchen getting overwhelmed. So, at 8:40pm, I go back to ask if our pager might not be working as it has clearly been far more than 10 minutes. The hostess says we somehow got skipped, doesn’t know what happened, but we can be seated now. We were placed at a table along a narrow walkway separating the dining area from the bar area, which is also used by the servers to line-dance at overly frequent intervals. I did not enjoy this, but others might think it’s fun. I felt bad that servers have to work harder to provide their customers a pleasant dining experience after they’ve waited so long and are likely grumpy and impatient by the time they sit down, and in addition, they have to stop and dance on cue. Our server Nikki, was nice and attentive. We ordered our meals and waited. At this point it was almost 9pm, the restaurant was starting to empty and we were getting a bit tired, my daughter especially. My daughter ordered the ‘Ranger’ kids steak meal — Medium. They said they will only do med-well or well for kids meals. So we reluctantly agreed to med-well. My husband and I each ordered steaks — Medium. We didn’t receive our food until 9:35, which Nikki suggested was longer than it should take and apologized. As soon as our food arrived, she checked to see how everything was prepared. My husband’s filet was medium. Mine was overdone, and my daughter’s was way overdone, to the point it hurt her jaw to chew. They asked if we’d like new steaks, but at this point it was far too late and we were far too hungry. I shared my steak with my daughter. We paid our bill and left. We still tipped well because our server did the very best she could. But, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t bitter about spending all that money on such a crappy meal that took all night to get. WEWILLDEFINITELYNOTBEGOINGBACK!

This place is great. They are new and I hope they keep their momentum. Our food was great with one minor hiccup. My friends steak was cooked wrong but the manager quickly came to the table and re cooked her a steak and offered her another side. He was so apologetic and kind about the situation. Our waitress was on her toes too. She kept our drinks full, our table empty of dirty dishes, and any extras we might need. It’s worth the wait, but be prepared to wait. Some people were being told as much as 75min. It’s a packed house right now, but you’ll be well taken care of. We will definitely be back.

All our steaks were a bit overdone. Not enough to send back, just inexperience by the cooks. The waitress was very pleasant, but the up-sells were over the top! There is a thin line between enthusiasm for your product, and a hard sell. Not her fault. It is the way she was trained. Management needs to dial it back a bit.

Brand new restaurant with all the quirks that come with it. The staff is very enthusiastic and you could tell they were still learning. For example, I ordered a Country Fried Sirloin and my server asked me if I wanted it topped with carmelized onions and mushrooms(as if it was a regular steak). I also got my beer handed to me in a can with a cold glass. I just figured if I’m paying bar prices for beer than they can pour it. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed. The food was great but the wait time close to an hour. I think 6 months from now they will have those ripples ironed out. I recommend you use their«call ahead» seating service since we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. Enjoy!
