Gloria Nail and Spa

I went here on a Sunday at noon, which is normally a busy time but I had no wait and was seated immediately for my manicure and pedicure. Overall my nails came out great and there was also a shoulder and neck massage at the end while my nails dried.
Minus one star because they had one tv but it wasn’t on and I noticed the utensils for my nails were just in an open container in the autoclave (not fresh out of a sealed package).

I went here after someone suggested it to me. I got a pedicure one time and wasn’t impressed but decided to give them another chance. I got a shellac manicure that starting chipping in 2 days. They had no AC on and it was 95 degrees out. When they saw me wipe sweat off my face they started laughing and someone turned on the AC which hadn’t even kicked in by the time I left, The people there weren’t very friendly so I didn’t bother going back to have them fix my chips. Won’t go back.

This nail salon is the best kept secret in town! It’s rarely busy and the people make you feel welcome and pampered. It’s also extremely clean and quiet. A great little oasis!

Today I was in desperate need to get my eyebrows waxed. My brows were so disgusting that it looked like I had two bushes on my forehead. I’m serious. Ask Jason M. of New Britain… lol!
I wanted to go to the closest place and ta da, it was Gloria’s Nail and Spa. I didn’t have an appointment. At 12:30 on a Saturday, I drove up and was served immediately. The service was $ 8, which was as cheapest price in the area. The lady who had the unfortunate task of waxing my eyebrows was very pleasant.
Though I love the Silk Nails location across from Stop and Shop in West Hartford, I think I will start going there to get my brows done from now on. The place is closer to home and they look like they need more business.
FYI: Credit cards are accepted for purchases over $ 10. If less, bring cash.

In the interest of saving money I usually do my own eyebrows nowadays but for a while when I was getting them waxed every two weeks this was the place I’d go. A friend had recommended it as this is where she gets her brows done and she is a very happy customer.
The same four or so employees are always there and they’re all very nice. I prefer the lady with the glasses and am not shy about requesting her if she is free. She does a great job and my brows have always looked perfect every time she’s worked on them.
I’ve also had a manicure here before and it was good. I usually go somewhere else for mani’s and pedi’s because they have a limited selection of polish colors in the brands I like (Essie is my top choice, OPI second) compared to other places I’ve been.

I stopped by this place one time when the place I wanted to try out in Corbins Corner had no power. I got a simple manicure and I was definitely happy with it. but I still had mixed feelings about it. At first, I was a little put off because during the entire process, which included a massage as well, the manicurists there only talked to each other in Korean and I felt completely ignored. I told myself that it was fine… I wanted a manicure and I was getting a nice one. They did a great job with my nails, I have to admit. But then, on the plus side, it was only $ 12, which makes up for a little bit of it.
I’m still giving it a decent 3-​star rating because the manicure and massage were really good. Just be prepared for the lack of service. If you’re okay with that, then this is a great deal.
