Best Mexican food in New Braunfels hands down. I have never been disappointed with food or service. The salsa is exceptional every time we go. Very reasonably priced($ 7 lunch specials with drink) and you get a lot of food. The migas is my absolute favorite and they use«real» cheese, which is a must in my book. Keep up the good work!

Big large portions for breakfast. Salsa was very hot. Breakfast was ok but a little bland. If the salsa was not so hot I could have easily fixed things. The restaurant was very busy. Women’s restroom was nice and clean– so I’m told. Men’s needed a little TLC and there was no towels or soap eek.(they fixed it as soon as I told them). Waitress was very friendly and service was excellent. Just wanted my food tone fresher and more tasty.

Absolutely love this place for breakfast tacos. This is one of the only places in town that uses actual breakfast sausage vs(summer?) Sausage, both are delicious, but I prefer breakfast sausage. The hot sauce for the tacos is perfect and the price point for 2 tacos is even more perfect. The only downside? No drive through, so I have to get my lazy butt out of the car, this is the only reason I ever go to any other taco-joint, and im always disappointed with myself that I didn’t just go here.

DISGUSTING. Unless you enjoy some canned pozole, this is the place to go. Coffee tasted like shit. Sirloin ranchero was salty as fuck. Filthy utensils, filthy everything. Menudo had no flavor at all. Heck, even the TACO tasted like CRAP! My whole family hated this place. if a 3 year old even refuses to use the restroom cause it’s so dirty that tells you something. Agua de melon taste like medicine. waste of $ 50 bucks I tell ya. Our bill consisted of a sirloin ranchero, menudo, pozole, 2 kids taco, 2 agua de melon, a chocolate milk, horchata, and a michelada.

This food should not be called Mexican food, I had a Mexican sandwich(torta) made out of beef fajita. The meet was so hard and stale. I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody

This place is filthy. Sat down in a booth and got syrup all over my clothes. The table was also sticky and had not been cleaned after the last patron. I asked for a rag so I could wipe it off. The lady never brought it to me. The wait was over 20 minutes for food and it wasn’t even that good. I don’t recommend this place.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Had the chimichanga and the hunt fajita with shrimp. I highly recommend this place if you are in town. The guacamole was superb, the refrained beans and rice cooked to perfection. Home made tortillas just like moms.

This is a solid lunch time place, but I wouldn’t go if you are expecting great TexMex food. It is the typical food from the ubiquitous Mexican food wholesaler. I joined some friends for lunch at work. I went in and the seating was wide open and laid out like you were in the dining area in an airport food court. I was a bit confused between whether I needed to go to the counter & order the food or wait for a menu. I was saved because one of the guys had been there and picked a table in the middle of the food court, er. restaurant. They came out with chips and salsa. One of the guys ordered the green salsa. They had to re-request it a couple times as the waitress had a lot going on. By the time it came, I was too filled on chips to try it out, but they raved about it. So — ask for it and try it out so you can tell me how it goes. The chips were nice and solid. Crunchy in a thick kind of way. I liked them. The salsa was the standard salsa. Good but nothing out of the ordinary. Ordered ice tea and it came in ginormous glasses. Kept it filled very well and even gave us take out cups(ginormous again) when my friends asked. I couldn’t pass that up so I got one to go as well. They have a very inexpensive lunch menu. Straight forward and big pictures. I got the #8 wich was beans, rice, a crunch taco and an enchilada. If you have EVER been to a TexMex restaurant that goes to the standard TexMex food wholesaler — you’ve had this food. Standard fare, no bells and whistles. Like I said, solid place for lunch or a quick dinner. Nothing to go out of your way for.

I am a big Mexican food fanatic. My wife and I have been trying to try other Mexican restaurants in New Braunfels that we have not been to. We were going to go to one that looked like a dive bar, but ended turning around to go to this place. This place was packed and full of locals just out of church, which is usually a good sign. The family that owns this place also has a meat market and a bakery. The prices on the menu were reasonable. I opted for gorditas and my wife ordered chalupas. I had requested pastor with my gorditas, which were very flavorful. The beans were very bland. The mexican rice tasted like the rice you would get at school on Mexican food day. It was also very bland. The salsa was good but could have used a little more heat. The server did not bring us more chips or ask us if we wanted tortillas. I did noticed they had more than one choice of salsa. There was a green salsa in a bottle. I did not see any options for that, nor did the server ask if we wanted any other salsa. The service was not bad, but not that great either. We never got refills and we had to goto the register to get our ticket. I was impressed seeing some of the young family members working, as I noticed a young boy brining out salsa.

This place has real Mexican food so if you prefer TexMex, like my wife move along. I have been eating here for many years. I love it. The chips are great. I eat here at lunch all the time. The lunch specials are 5.99 with tea or soda. I have never had bad food here. Tortillas are made fresh. Everything in my review is my opinion based on my experience.

I’ve been going here for years and even got my family hooked on this place! They like to call it «five dollar Mexican» because their lunch special is $ 5.95. Seat yourself and someone will be by shortly to bring you some chips and salsa. The chips are usually slightly warm and the salsa comes in a bowl that you’ll usually not have to ask for refills on. In the morning I usually get the breakfast tacos or the migas breakfast plate. At lunch or dinner I usually get the beef and cheese Enchiladas with diced onions on top. I wouldn’t recommend any steak here or soups, this is a burrito and enchilada kinda place. The staff is very nice but hardly speaks English. Bottom line is that if you like enchiladas and not any type of fancy stuff then this is your kinda place.

One star– only because I’m forced to give a whole star as a minimum. This place is disgusting! My family and I decided to stop in for lunch today– not knowing we had made the worst choice possible. My mother in law ordered the fajitas flameadas. The meat was inedible because of the amount of jalapeños they added to it– ridiculous. She sent it back and ordered a pozole– disgusting. It tasted as if it had been made days before and reheated– beyond gross. Needless to say, we left hungry. I ordered the small caldo de pollo, also inedible. It was a cold bowl of grease. My husband ate his food only because he is not one to return food– no matter how horrible it tastes. Here’s the kicker though: When it came time to pay for our waste of time we were charged half of my mother in law’s plate! She tried 1(ONE!!!) piece of meat and almost choked! The manager«had just left», so the waitress made faces at me and called her. The woman proceeds to start fighting with me on the phone! Never in my life had I ever been embarrassed in such a way at a restaurant by the MANAGER or by anyone else for that matter! Don’t eat here. It’s not worth your time.

I’m giving it 5 stars just for the food. As others have indicated it doesn’t have the best ambience. It’s clean but the wooden tables, chairs and benches sort of wobble. Often there are only about 3 attendants/waitresses that lurk and talk to each other behind the counter throwing quick glances to check if you need to hail them down for something. The big screen LCDTV’s are set to spanish speaking channels. But still… For $ 6 and change I got the biggest, most delicious plate of quesadillas with the most unique tasting barbacoa meat and tons of cheese along with a big pile of home made pico de gallo and guacamole dip. It was so rich and plentiful I could only eat about 1⁄3 and took the rest home which later served up 3 separate delicious breakfasts out of the frig and after a minute in the microwave. That’s 4 meals for a little over $ 6. Ask for the«Big Quesadilla» which you can pick from a selection of meats to go with it. I suggest barbacoa for its earthy, organic flavor. Don’t confuse it with barbecue which is a different meat cooked a different way. Very authentic tasting Mexican food.

This location is always a hit or miss on not only food but service. It’s located right off of IH35 which is a perfect access to everyone traveling through, including buses full of ppl on the weekend! I’m a taco lover and this place offers a good selection. I enjoy their Tortas-Milanesa is my favorite but has been a little on the dry side. This time around I ordered my favorite Carne Guisada on Flour, Barbacoa and Al Pastor on Corn. The order was out in no time and our service was good. Go in sit yourself and the waitress will come out, I know it can be a little confusing when there is no sign.

While on the road in Texas, I had a hankering for Mexican food, and stopped here. I had a burrito, Jalisco style, it was pretty good, chips were good. The negatives: It’s unclear when you walk in that you’re supposed to seat yourself. I was standing at the counter for several minutes without anyone acknowledging me before I stopped a server to ask if I was supposed to seat myself. Also, there was a sweet at the counter that looked tempting which I ordered on the way out, a sugary mass of nuts(or a nutty mass of sugar), but it turned out to be kinda gross, I threw it out.
