I’ve passed by this place a billion times and was always one of those things were I would say, «I oughta try that place one day.’ So one day I had my daughter with me and finally did. My waiter was kinda funny. He asked me if I had ever been there before and when I said I hadn’t, he assumed I was from out of town. IDK, I found his presumption kind of… cocky but in a good way. It was just nice to see a young kid advocating for where he worked. Guess I don’t think I see that a lot anymore(a young person taking pride in where they work — not the cockiness. That I see EVERYWHERE w/o much reason At least this wasn’t about him). Anywho. the food is better than OK. I haven’t gone too far off the beaten path but what I’ve ordered so far have been very good; especially like the Tortilla soup. They also have a kid’s menu, which I know most places have but the prices are reasonable and the portions are more than adequate and they like it. I like that they bring the chips warm and whoever says their salsa isn’t authentic is a buffoon. I grew up in Austin and have been to a million Tex-Mex restaurants and it’s just fine. I’d give it a solid B+. They have quite a nice bar that’s off from the restaurant. Loos like a nice place to go have drinks and watch a game.

I’ve never been a fan of this place but let me tell you… when I’m in need of Chips & Queso, I’ll gladly head into town and enjoy a happy moment here at Adobe Café. I’ve been here with friends and the food seems to be OK but nothing grand. Nevertheless, it beats fast food. I loved that I could sit at the bar and watch football while enjoying my appetizer. This will be one of my designated local Chips & Queso places whenever in NB. Cheers***

Went with guests(4 adults, one child) at 6pm. Were seated within 2 minutes as two tables had to be joined. Hot chips and sauce waiting(2 of each) for us. Our server, Isaac, greeted us promptly and took our drink orders and the Fiesta Queso order. Throughout, he was very attentive without being a pest. I would imagine he has not worked long as he was unfamiliar with the Chili Relleno en Nogada or the Adobe Special Chalupas. This is not surprising as I suspect that most customers order more traditional Tex-Mex dishes. He did return several times prior to the food coming out to make sure of our order. Very good server, and when he learns the menu inside and out will be a rock star! The food was excellent, start to finish, as was the service(see photos posted). I am puzzled at some of the bad reviews, as we have always enjoyed our visits. You can’t please everyone all the time and some folks can’t be pleased any time. A personal note to Fred Valdez… Fred, thank you for putting the Nogada chilis on the menu. I know I bugged you about them during the delivery of your Chevy trucks years ago. Your new menu is a winner!

I have eaten at this restaurant a long time and it is consistently good food. It’s not fancy just good Tex-Mex. The server was excellent and very accommodating. Great food for the price.
