Now closed. Apparently the space will soon be a Mexican restaurant.

Great food. Huge slices. Great beer. A few more tables might help, but the seating was only a minor issue. Great staff.

First of all, I can’t believe how many people come up here thinking this place is all about love and fun and niceness. W. Nevada County is made up of, well sorry – don’t know how else to say this – greedy haters as my friend experienced when she parked in the Wells Fargo parking lot. Immediately she got pounced on to move her car so she did only to get yelled at by someone from a house but it got worse… she was near tears by the time she found a parking place. I think the most important thing to tell people is Grass Valley/W Nevada County has to be one of the most over-rated places on earth. Everyone was mean to her when all she was trying to do is meet two of us for a beer and pizza. She’s never coming back. Our point is, this is not going to help Pete’s Pizza or any other small business downtown when people on this side of the county are so mean and hateful. Don’t spend your money here. Go some place else or head over to the east side of Nevada County which though overdeveloped, at least they get it about attracting tourists. Generally business owners on the east side of the«gun» are super nice and grateful for your business. In other words, they’ve got some class.

Best thin-crust pizza I’ve ever had. Ginormous slices for $ 5.50. Fun casual atmosphere, friendly staff, and yummy pub ale. Not fast but definitely worth the wait.

The pizza was good. The service… left a lot to be desired. It was three kids working on Memorial Day, so I probably shouldn’t have expected them to pay much attention to my order. I asked for and immediately received a refund, but not without some attitude from the gal behind the counter. And she did still give me my semi-warm pizza… thank god because I don’t know what I would have told my husband, who was pretty hangry at that point. We ordered a medium Yuba(bacon + pineapple + jalapeño). I was initially attracted to Pete’s by the windowpane promise of «gluten-free available»(not that I’m gluten-free, um… I’m just drawn to fancy pizza options). I’m not a big fan of pizza by the slice, so I wasn’t taking any chances there(I prefer my pizza crust soft, not a twice-baked pizza cracker). The Yuba was not necessarily fancy but it was darn good, and it’s pretty hard to find any pizza that my husband and I both enjoy. Since we were satisfied with the food and my sweet hubby couldn’t bear to stiff them, we left the refund on the table. If I was ever in the area and craving pizza I would maybe return… I just would check frequently on the status of my order.

Small place with wood burning oven. Pizza taste was realy good overall. Thin style is delicious IMO, however not the most filling. A large pep. was $ 22 bucks and not large at all… thinking not a great deal when you leave hungry!

The stoner behind the counter forgot to put our pizza in the oven. An hour and ten minutes later, the soggy, tasteless pizza arrived. Two bites later, we donated it to the homeless.

Love them. Fresh ingredients made to order. Large portions. Both Grass Valley and Nevada City are great. The staff is friendly and personable. We go there often.

Simply just out of principle of how many times I have gone here it should be 5 stars, but then again there isn’t a lot of good pizza in Nevada City/Grass Valley. Slices are big and flavorful and they are served with a thin crispy crust(some people don’t like how stiff it is but I have taken a liking to it.) Good variety of menu selections(some that are rather unique) as well as the option to create your own. Conamara and Margherita are my 2 personal favorites. They have some other options on the menu such as salads, cal-zones, subs, and a variety of appetizers like fries and mozzarella sticks. The appetizers are pretty good for the most part, however I would stay away from the others. Cal-zones are extremely messy and subs and salads are sub par. People working are your typical GV angsty youth, but if you’re young you’ll probably know some of them anyway. People outside on the board walk are kinda annoying asking you to get in touch with your inner spirit by purchasing energy rocks, getting in your way, etc. but that’s a quirk of Nevada City.

I love to eat at Pete’s! Their pizza is loaded with fresh-tasting ingredients and they have lots of toppings to choose from but I really love their huge calzones — they’re big enough to feed my son and I — each bite makes me feel all warm inside. The staff really know how to make you feel welcome and go out of their way to get it right! The Parlor Salad is to die for — they even replace the parmesan with feta for me and the cucumber-lemon water is a nice added touch. Oh I almost forgot to mention the gluten-free pizza — the best I’ve ever tasted! Thank you Pete’s for giving our Nevada City Downtown an affordable healthy option!

Pete’s pizza is the best in the Grass Valley /Nevada City area. The crust is unbeatable and reminiscent if Midwest/east coast pizza — thin and crackery. Nevada City location manager Jason is all about customer satisfaction.

Everything about the place was great except for the food, which was horrible. The salad wasn’t bad, it was forgettable, but that didn’t really matter. It’s just that this has to be the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life and I’m not the only one who thought so. All I could think was«Man. Somebody could make big money in this town by opening a good pizza place». It would be easy. Just go buy some frozen pizzas somewhere like Fresh & Easy and you’re set. How anyone could see this as good pizza is beyond me. It’s the worst.

After being turned away from three other places, including Lumberjacks and Friar Tucks which were advertised to be open until 10:00 but actually weren’t, we stumbled upon Pete’s Pizza. Yum. We were tired, hungry and frustrated after hitting a deer on our way down from Graeagle(the deer was okay– the car was not). Not only was the food aH-Maasaazing, but the service was friendly and fast. The Calzone was crispy and spicy and YUM and that’s coming from hubs who is half Italian and VERY picky! The chicken sub was a work of art. Get it with some marinara on the side. Can you hear the choirs of angels? Oh it was delish. We recommend the Fools Gold ale. Oh yeah! This place is fabulous.

Ehhhhh… next door to that café that I have loved for decades. It was getting super nippy… we stopped in for some monster veg slices. Bit run-of-mill… very OK, I’d say. Will run you about $ 6/slice, and more if adding meat and the like.

I got two take out Pizzas: The Mediterranean and the Combo. The Mediterranean was burned on the fringes of the rock hard thin crust and left black marks on my fingers. It was so salty it was virtually inedible. Pesto sauce? Absent. The Combo was decent, but again, salty. Serious overpriced crap served with plenty of bad attitude. What’s with the gum smacking bitch who was training her boy toy and ignored us and let our pies get cold so we could come home and eat shit and pay 45 bucks to do it? The shameful fact is you have the perfect business model… the ingredients are great ;the menu is good… the execution is below amateur level. They are fucking up your stuff! REVIEWUPDATE7−13−13 The owner was gracious enough to contact me and express his/her distress about my harsh review. While I will not recant my personal observations, I felt it unfair to let my one bad review potentially hurt the business. As such, I have revised my previous review in the interest of fairness(the business gets a good deal of Unilocal reviews above average overall). I did not accept any reward, refund or compensation for this message. I will revisit soon.

Now THAT;S a slice a pie! Good ol’ fashioned pizza by the slice. Except for one problem. THESLICESAREFREAKIN’ HUGE, MAN! We each ordered two slices of pie without warning and were we surprised when we got ‘em. Each slice is roughly the sive of a 12″ pizza. The toppings are fresh and the pizza was delidious. So glad a stumbled into this palce looking for a quick snack.

WELOVEPETE’S PIZZA in Nevada City! GV is awesome too… we just always end up in NC… The slices are HUGE and there is an endless amount of toppings to choose from! The wine selection is great! We love the fries and meatballs! Very friendly staff! CLEAN! Good prices! AND… it’s absolutely delicious! Pete’s Pizza in GV and NC are the only places in Nevada County that you can get slices. They use high quality ingredients and their pizza crust is exactly how perfect pizza crust should taste! They are also open late, so if you’re hungry after 8PM… you’re in luck!
