Soooooo good! We got the cauliflower pizza with a fried egg and the fennel pancetta pizza. The fennel one was good but not great but the cauliflower was outta the park! The beers were nice too. Unfortunately I ate way too much and felt really bad the rest of the night but that was my own fault!

Just A-mazing. The choice of their seasonal local FRESHEST ingredients were unforgettably tasty and prices were right. They seasoned everything minimum to enhance /keep the original flavor of ingredients(especially arugula salad and Pork Rillette!!! were to die for! The best Rillette i ever had) Definitely come back!

This amazing restaurant had just recently opened when we were planning our Empire Mine Wedding last year. With family in Grass Valley, we had eaten here a few times and loved their pizzas(actually considered moving here just so we could frequent this place more often!) and agreed they had the best beer in the area, so sought out a couple KEGSFOROURWEDDING. One of the owners brews the beer and the other bakes the delicious breads and cakes for the restaurant. Hmm, if they provide beer for weddings, I wonder if they would also bake cakes for weddings? After looking at your typical fondant(aka costs a lot, looks nice, but tastes gross) WEDDINGCAKES, the thought of a homemade, tasty cake that was affordable got us excited. We tasted a couple of the cakes that Shana was serving that day and settled on a chocolate cake with wine glaze, along with a special request of lemon blueberry. Shana reminded us that it would be a simple, rustic look but that she would pretty it up a bit. We were excited. Wedding day arrived and we had such a beautiful cake to cut, along with two sheet cakes to serve to guests. THEWEDDINGCAKESWEREDELICIOUS. And I’m not even a big cake person. Everyone commented that they had never had such good cake at a wedding. I proceeded to eat the leftovers throughout the day the next day with my friend. Back off– this is my cake! I think the total came to around $ 300 for the tiered cake and 2 sheet cakes which was plenty for our 100 person guest list. Do not even consider buying a cake anywhere else! Shana is so sweet, helpful, reliable, and talented and your guests will thank you!(And did I mention the leftovers?) Take a look at the pics!

I am so thankful that Nevada City has a farm fresh, organic when possible, dietary options place to eat. From the ambiance to the food, to the staff, definitely 5 stars. Its the place to go and the place to bring your out of town guest to share and experience the locals lifestyle of Nevada City.

This is the place to go for specialty pizza! Their handmade, baked in a brick oven was delicious! They allowed us to sample(for free!) a couple of beers so that we could order the beer we preferred. They had fast wifi and saw a few people on their computers. We were sitting at their comfortable bar area. It was quite crowded when we were there, even though their service was fast! The place smelled like a fresh bakery, because they baked their own bread! This place had it all, great food, fast service and was very clean! If ever in Nevada City again, we will be back!

Came here for the first time today. The calzone was delicious. We added Calabrian pepper to ours, added some heat to it. The kids pizza was great as well. Love the wood-fired taste of pizza. Only con, it’s not as convenient as a sit down restaurant where you’re waited on. Not as relaxing to eat it with a family. We ordered 3x, between drinks, food and a growler to go. You have to go up and order yourself, beware-the line can get long!

Love this place– from the food to the prices to the wonderful staff. Fresh and local ingredients, great beer, and all around good-feels. The only time I avoid going is weekend evenings, because the battle for a table can be brutal. I think if it were possible, I’d love to see a waiting system for tables implemented at peak hours, because I’ve literally had to wait over 30 minutes after my food was finished to sit down to eat it. Thankfully, the staff were aware of our waiting process and warmed the food for us, but some of the other customers simply did not have the manners to either move on from their tables or open up seating.

I always stop here when I’m in Nevada City(which is the cutest town ever, by the way). The beer is good, the wine selection well rounded, and the food is delicious. Seriously. This pizza. I would eat it every day. I haven’t had any food that I didn’t love! It IS a pay at the counter place, but there’s a decent amount of seating and when it’s warm out, the side doors(think garage) slide up! They have a great amount of veggie dishes and everything is baked daily! What a gem!

The lemon cheesecake was amazing. The 4 cheese pizza was good, but needed some heat, in my opinion, and there were no chili flakes to be found. The sausage calzone was better… That cheesecake though. I’d go back for dessert for sure.

Fun, quaint, odd, cute, «hipster.» But notice that I didn’t say that the food was great. However, this is the perfect place to sit down, grab a drink, and talk with friends. Three forks is the best pick of all the restaurants in Old Town Nevada City. It has an amazing ambiance but only so-so to good food. I shared the porchetta and onion pizza($ 14) as well as the agua fresca orange fennel($ 4). The drink was wonderful. The pizza was a little too burnt on the sides and wasn’t too flavorful.

Great beer, but the food is not impressive. Pizza is decent but a little skimpy. I’m used to saucy and loaded with whatever toppings are included. These are some sort of pretentious yuppie craft pizzas. Desserts are famously delicious. Service wise, it’s hit and miss. Had a few friendly and good server experiences and a few spacy stony don’t care server experiences. Oh, sandwiches, while they sound good on the menu, have repeatedly come out half filled, lackluster and not a good value for the money.

On point with the beer on tap. They have a large selection of on premise brews from blondes to dynamite DOUBLEIPA at 99.99IBU. this place also has a bakery with a variety of food items including pizza, sandwiches, and soups. I personally ordered the Rush Creek Red IPA brewed on premise by the master brewer. He’s the owner and been brewing for over 25 years. The red was excellent, great aroma and flavor. I will be back.

Super good pizzas and soups. And being a bakery, their breads are pretty awesome. It’s a bit Seattle looking in there with many young clientele. Décor feels more like a California café(light and bright, open space) than a brewery or a bakery despite being both. I’m not a beer drinker but my boyfriend liked what he had. We ordered one of their pizza specials, there’s no used mentioning which since it changes, but suffice it to say that the ingredients were quality and the crust was perfection. Crazy busy when we came here though, you might have to wait a little. We visited during winter, so I don’t even want to know how long the wait would be during tourist season.

My wife and I were here over Valentine’s weekend. I had a flight of IPAs and my wife had the cider with an unbelievably delicious butternut squash pizza. Touché Three Forks! Everything was delicious. Food and beer were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was social. We sat at the bar and had some very engaging conversation. I like the folk who live in Nevada City. We’ll be back soon!

Yup. Real good. Great beer and 7 bucks for a flight? You go! Pizzas are yummy too, tasty dough and stone oven baked. Bianca was really good. Cheers!

This place is really amazing! wonderful food, beer, and atmosphere, but we had one major problem. my husband’s pizza literally came out 30MINUTES after I got my food! we kept asking the waitress if they forgot his pizza, and she kept saying«its coming up next», but we she was wrong. it was really frustrating to watch everyone who ordered AFTER us get served their pizzas while we just sat there waiting. when it finally came out we asked her if there was some sort of mix up, and she just said«nope, they make them in order». it really would have been nice to have them admit that they screwed up and apologize, it would have gone a long way. I am hoping it was just some sort of fluke, cuz this place could easily be a 5 star business if their service was better. we will give it one more try and hope for better service next time :/

It’s new and hip and it’s an awesome place to pop in for a pint. Amidst the quaint setting of this mountain little town, I was excited to find a place to plop and get a drink. I love the the small shops of downtown and just around the corner from all that is this brewery. It’s a wonderful to see this as a watering hole for tourist like me and locals alike. I bumped into one of the shoppe owners after he closed up. The place has an open floor plan with plenty of natural lite and ample seating which encourages conversations. I didn’t have a chance to try their selection much. They offer a good amount of averagely priced California Craft beers including their own. I had a nicely roasted stout. This place is A-Okay and I’ll probably stop by again next time I’m in town. That’s my peace.

It’s relaaaaaaaaaaxxxxeeeeeddddd service and atmosphere. If you are from LA or New York City, not your place to go and won’t be what you expect from a bakery or a brewery. This is not a bad thing, just a different thing of sorts… Lighting was bright, music was non existent, service was average, bakery was good, beer was great. It’s a popular place for what it is so they are doing something right; just, as with everything, don’t go into the bakery/brew house with expectations of speed/efficiency/or the ideal ambience; it’s the unexpected which –often– people love! Mind you, I have worked in a successful gourmet bakery of sorts and have managed a high end bar of sorts. My expectations were rather high going into it…

Never been to Nevada City, let alone knew Nevada City was in California — talk about failing California geography and history. :P Really cool place with a modern, earthy design and décor. Using only«locally grown, organic and GMO free» produce, meats and dairies made the wall menu very eclectic. Some stellar ideas for meals at home too! They have in-house brewed beers ranging from stouts to IPAs to ales. The Oktoberfest was malty and smooth. I personally didn’t try any of the menu items, but all the more reason to come back!

No matter how many forks you end up using(one in my case), you’ll be happy that a fine establishment like Three Forks exists in tiny downtown Nevada City. The town as a whole is an anomaly — a mixture of old Gold Rush charm, granola hippie culture, tourists and old retirees. With that eclectic vibe, you end up wondering just what kind of restaurant could really make it here. Three Forks combines the best of it all. The menu is eclectic but accessible, with standards like pizza and more obscure offerings like Salmon Toasts and Rilletes, but all with a healthy, farm-to-fork ethic behind it. What pleased me the most was actually eating vegetarian dishes that tasted better than the meat options. As a devout carnivore, I was pleasantly surprised to find both the margarita and pesto pizzas more flavorful than the classic sausage and peppers option. It’s rare to find a place that knows vegetarian food as well as this one. The beer selection wasn’t too shabby. I had the Pale Ale. It was a little more bitter than other Pale Ale options out there, but beer is an area in the region where they are going to get some very stiff competition. And let’s not forget they are a bakery as well. All the baked goods looked outstanding. It was all I could do not to eat a couple as dessert after our meal. I would have taken some with me, but we were off to a bar afterward and that wouldn’t have fared well under any circumstance. I’m so impressed that so much of what they do happens under their own roof. Three Forks isn’t phoning it in, folks. They are a self-contained wonderland for your tastebuds, and their handiwork is only enhancing the stellar reputation of this small town.

Walked past this place while checking out Nevada City. Looked inside and decided to pop-in for some brew. Sat down at the bar, opened a tab and started off with a sampler of 4 — 4oz brews from the brewhouse visible from the bar. I’m not usually a fan of IPA’s, but their Emerald Pool IPA ended up being my favorite with nice citrus notes. At this point I was ready to add some food to my tab but could not get the attention of anyone behind the bar. When someone walked past(to talk to another employee at the end of the bar), they either didn’t hear me or chose to ignore me and then just went to the opposite end of the bar. After about 30 minutes I gave up on the possibility of giving this place more money and finally managed to get my tab closed. Beer = Good Food = Unobtainable Service = Poor
