What a wonderful store, taking you back in time with root beer barrels, taffy, and an assortment of gummi candy. Delicious, great prices, and the chocolate made there was scrumptious. I enjoyed a tasty sample of jalapeño peanut brittle too. Worth a stop, you’ll feel ten again walking through the door.

This place is a must stop if you’re visiting Nederland. My wife and I stopped in and were more than impressed. The owner showed us how his taffy cutter and wrapper from 1919 worked. Really cool! They have well known candies for purchase but we opted for the hand made chocolates: haystacks, snowballs, delicious peanut butter/chocolate fudge, and a jumbo chocolate mogul which is basically a chocolate turtle. Everything was great! Will definitely be back when we’re in Nederland next!

AMAZINGCANDYSHOP!!! The owner, Dan aka THE Candy Man, is super awesome. He is very friendly and knows everything about the shop. He personally welcomes every new customer and will offer any help or answer any questions. He is super patient. The candy is a great mix of old and new classics. Everyone has a different favorite flavor of taffy and they are all excellent. Most of the candy is made in the shop(just not the name brand corporate jellies and bars). Plus the chocolate selection is killer. I love the snowballs and the moguls. It is a totally accessible, gorgeous facility. There is a large selection but it is not stifling or cramped and easy for children, adults, and senior to access. You can’t beat the price for the quality which is usually $ 8.95 per pound. That is 60 pieces of taffy for $ 9!!! This place beats every other mass produced candy store and it is a small, family run one. The other workers are the Candy Man’s daughters. PLUS you can have some of the chocolate paired with beer at Very Nice Brewery for $ 10 quite a deal! You should seriously go here.

If you visit Nederland, Co, this is a must see! It’s cool seeing candies from my childhood and the candy man has some of the best taffy I have ever tasted. The taffy is soft, so you know it is fresh, and there are so many flavors. Chocolate mint, caramel, watermelon, root beer… mmm. Watching them make taffy with the old equipment is a fun and unique experience. The variety of candy is great too. From jalapeño gummies, to your every day tootsie roll, you can find almost anything. The employees are nice and helpful. This small family owned business is a great addition to the community and fun for the family. Five stars all around!

I love candy and was so excited about this store while visiting Nederland for the first time. There’s lots of candy to choose from, especially taffy. We bought some chocolate and chocolate-covered coffee beans and everything was good. I wish I could give this place 4 ½ stars instead of just 4. The only reason I’m not giving it a perfect 5 is because there was no hot chocolate available and it was a tad bit cold outside. Other than that, I was a happy camper after stopping by, and I would definitely go back for a sweet fix if I happen to be back in the area.

GO here. There aren’t that many places left in the world that have a 100+ year old candy wrapper, wrapping some of the best flavors your can describe! Banana, Mint Chip, etc. Unbelievable. Bring you children so they can see this before its too late. MMMMMMMTAFFFFFYYYY… Why wouldn’t you give this 5 stars!!!

Every small touristy mountain town needs a candy store… Nederland needed a place like this to go with the carousel! What a great place to get your sugar fix. Nice variety of candies and homemade chocolates. Love the fudge. Fun stop for the kiddos and adults too. As another review stated, the taffy recipe is being worked on, but he’ll get there. Can’t wait to see how he further fills the store with goodies. Owners are super nice!

This is a fun little candy store, located in Nederland’s strip mall Caribou Village on the second level(and accessible at ground level around back). First, the owners did a nice job decorating the place. It is light, bright, and airy, with lavender striped walls(this looks better than it sounds). The employees(maybe the owners?) are very pleasant and helpful. So what is this store all about? It is a candy store.(When I first heard that a store named Candy Man was going to open, I assumed it was an MJ dispensary. Hah!) Large barrels of candy stand on the floor, priced per pound. Old-fashioned candy, like Mary Jane’s, Tootsie Rolls, Atomic Fireballs, cream-centered caramels, etc. There is also a small glass case with fudge, turtles, etc. In case you want optimal sugar intake, there is a big, round device that dispenses a dozen or so varieties of colored, flavored sugar(like what you find in pixie stix.) You buy a reusable plastic tube, and dispense whatever flavor(s) you want into it. And, this is fun, the place serves coffee, hot chocolate, and hot cider. What the place did not have, however, was the promised freshly-made salt water taffy. That is why we dropped by last time we were in town, to buy some. We had read that the owners were making real taffy using antique taffy-making machines dating back to the very early 1900’s. The absence of taffy was not the fault of the owners, however. What they discovered, as people do when moving to the mountains, is that recipes that work well in the flat lands don’t necessarily work as well at altitude. I feel for them. I’ll bet they had perfected the taffy in the flat lands prior to opening the store, and then, oops, discovered the problem when trying to actually make it in Ned. I hope they manage to tweak the recipe so that it works up there at 8236. I’ll be first in line to buy some. The store also has a refrigerator case of fresh floral bouquets. This confused me at first, since it seemed out of place. Then I realized, ohhh… Flowers and candy. The prices are quite high. You will pay a lot more for the Tootsie Rolls, etc, than you would in a grocery store, say. But you can buy a few pieces of this, a half-dozen of that, and walk away with a tasty little assortment.
