We love this place!!! The sushi is always fresh with beautiful presentation. The miso salmon is alway tasty if you’re in the mood for a hot meal. Don’t forget to try the fried pbj, so amazing! On top of all of this the service is always friendly and welcoming.

Found this place on Unilocal with great reviews so I was excited about checking this place out. Only thing is, I didn’t notice that they close from 3p to 5p and I had shown up at 3:30p. How inconvenient. I came back at 5p with my mom – it was her first time having sushi – and we enjoyed their happy hour special: 2 regular rolls, 3rd one fee and their veggie wantons. Not too bad. I might come back again.

My girlfriend and I are regulars here. We come in at least once a week and literally get the same thing. Their gyozas are amazing and I suggest trying the Pizza Roll or the Mr. Lava Lava. Their service is great, but there are days when it gets packed and they can’t help everyone at once. But even then, it’s still great. I love this place. For the rest of my life.

I love this place. I was never a big sushi guy but Goodys changed that. Food is great and tasty, the staff is incredibly friendly and warm. Their special rolls are outstanding. Absolutely worth a try.

Gave Goody’s a second shot! Boy it’s so much better than the very first time I went when they first opened! Great service & pretty awesome sushi & happy hour too! Music has been toned down as well. I’m so glad I gave them another shot. This is my now go to sushi spot by my office when I’m needing my sushi fix!

This is one of those hole in the wall joints that you must not overlook when in National City. Always ask for their specialty rolls. Their garlic edamame and seaweed salads rock.
I give this place 5 stars on every level.
Can’t wait to come back for their Happy Hour from 5 to 6.

This sushi place is the best one in National city. It’s just a simple one nothing fancy. We ordered the shrimp tempura, Tonkotsu ramen noodle and Awesome sushi roll. The awesome roll was amazeballs !!! Super yummy ! Nom
Nom nom! Overall, we really like this sushi place and CS was great! This young guy server was super nice and friendly. Definitely we are coming back soon and I’m glad there’s a ramen place in my area. Highly recommended! Come try it folks ! Lots of parking here.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Has become a weekly ritual. Don’t be put off by the strip mall exterior. this place has great sushi and too notch service. Linda and Victor are the best! Ask about the secret menu and they might tell ;)
And take a risk on a chef special roll… have not been disappointed.

Loooooove! This place is a gem! Super awesome staff, always excellent food and service.
The sauces can be kind of bland, but that would be the only this. if anything.
They are closed mid-​day and on Sundays, which is a bummer, but totally understandable.
This place can get super busy, so it’s a relief if you can get an easy seating. Always worth the wait though.

Had came in before a event to pre-​party with some lychee sake and sushi. The lychee sake was pretty good — as I used to hate sake but after tasting something fruitier I am more partial to anything new now. We each ordered our own rolls to eat. I ordered a spicy tuna roll — which was my standard default. It tasted normal though but not that fresh in my opinion. Presentation was okay but looked a bit that someone rushed to make it. I was not feeling too adventurous that day so did not go for something more exciting.
My friend had ordered a «speciality roll» as she usually liked the lemon roll which they did not have. And she ended up picking out the rainbow roll but they barely put any lemon slices on it. Our other friend seemed okay with her order of the trinity roll (if I remember that correctly) but I do recall we were not too impressed. Might have also been our selections.
Environment was pretty cozy — they had a bit of a interesting mix as there were several pictures of different actors/​actresses/​musicians — such as Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Audrey Hepburn on the walls. If I was in the neighborhood again I might drop by jus to sample what else they have on their menu.

Came in to pre-​party before an event to have some drinks and sushi. We ordered the lychee cold sake to share to split with 3 people ($ 12). We all had about 3 shot glasses a piece. I opted to order the rainbow roll with lemon slices on top, which was an additional charge of $ 1 for the lemon slices.
When our rolls came out, my roll looked small, but it was the presentation. Evidently each sliced roll was actually 2 pieces. Whew! The roll filled me up, but I was a little disappointed with the amount of lemon slices they placed on top of my roll. Honestly, it looked like 2 slivers. Barely tasted the lemon at all. For this «speciality roll» being about $ 15, I should have just ordered a roll off their regular menu.
Other than that, service was good and friendly. There were a lot of patrons in the restaurant so looks like they have a pretty good fan base.
They have a couple rolls on their secret menu, so ask your server what they are.

I gave this place a second chance and oh boy was I proved wrong! We got the GFC wangs, garlic edamame, and chicken Gyoza for appetizers! All were delish. :)
I ordered the calamari roll, shrimp tempura, and crunchy roll! REGULAR ROLLS ARE BUY 2, GET ONE FREE FOR HAPPY HOUR! All delish, flavorful, and fresh rolls!
The service was good as well and we were seated and greeted right away!

I have to admit I am a fan of Goody’s Sushi and Grill. I have been to the newest location in Proctor Valley, Chula Vista with excellent results, so I figured I would give this sister location a try.
I ordered three things, the happy hour GFC wings, the MisoYaki Salmon, and some hot green tea. I started on the wings as soon as they arrived, and they sure arrived piping hot, right out of the frier after a coating of flavorful seasoning. They nicely breaded and I rather enjoyed the GFC seasoning mix they applied on them Skin and breading were crunchy and the meat inside was tender. Pretty much what you want in a good wing, although these with their light spice should be served with side spicy sauce in addition to the sweet sauce they served.
The Salmon dish was nice and fish was prepared to a perfect medium rare the way I like. The salmon was very tender and flaky. The salmon was presented with good char, some sesame seeds, and diced mango and peppers. The salmon was very good on its own, and I liked the steamed rice underneath it, but the sauce that surrounded the plate was a little to sweet for my taste so I avoided it for the most part. Nice preparation of the salmon.
The hot green tea was typical, but good in flavor. I ate at the sushi bar. Service was a little hit in miss, given my server was busy serving table, which was not a big deal to me.

Es mi primera vez que visitó este sushi y estuvo muy rico, pedimos miso soup, edamame (cometí el error y no los pedí con ajo como lo recomiendan) la sopa y el edamame estaban ok, después seguimos con crunchy roll, rollin deep y Mr lava lava (este ultimo fue mi preferido) los tres rollos estuvieron ricos el crunchy sencillo pero con muy buen sabor, rollin deep solo debí elegir crab encima en vez del spicy tuna y Mr lava lava estubo buenisimo.
