Great food! Except for the lobster bisque. It was insanely salty.

Excellent food and service. We had a large party with some picky eaters. This place took great care of us, and everyone left very happy. Visiting here was a very nice finish to our stay in Narragansett.

All I can say is, what a great place. We ate on the patio under a full super moon. Everyone’s food was superb. Amazing local seafood, wonderful homemade ravioli and Mac and cheese that was out of this world. And the service was attentive and friendly. Even though they where having a very busy Saturday night. This place is a must visit.

Good food but we ended up finding hair in one of the sauces. No refund or gesture about the incident. I don’t care how much you are hurting for business. It would have been nice to have some acknowledgement about the incident from the owner or the manager. Not sure if I would go here again.

Four of us arrived on a Tuesday evening. We have been stopping by a couple times a year when on vacation. Previous visits had been acceptable. Our last experience was subpar at best. We ordered the scallops wrapped in bacon appetizer only to be told none were available. We ordered the rib appetizer which took forever to arrive just moments before our meal. I ordered the clam chowder soup of the day only to be told by our server they had just changed it and it was unavailable. We were told they had a salmon special and my friend ordered it. The server then return to state that they were changing the salmon entrée and it would now be coconut encrusted. We asked that the rum sauce be served on the side and it was not. Bread was not served until 40 minutes after arrival. Since it was not crowded, all in all a wasted meal. You can do better elsewhere.

Outstanding fish dishes for all of us… we all had something different and so well done. Definitely highly recommend this restaurant. Not your run of the mill beach restaurant. expect to be pleased. Great recommendations by the server. Coming back!

Nice upscale casual restaurant. Smaller menu with a few specials. Primarily seafood and pasta dishes. No kids menus, but highly accommodating to kids. Had the lobster ravioli which came with a small lobster tail on top– nice surprise– it was excellent. The wife had linguine with clam sauce and enjoyed as well. Kids had hot dog and chic fingers. Decent bar and wine selection. Food took a while but servers and staff very accommodating.

I passed this place a lot of my walks last winter. It’s sorta one of those places that appears to get left out, being in between some of the other more well known eating joints in Narragansett. For it does indeed lie between the well known and excellent Spains, and the much overrated and tourist ass kissing Aunt Carries. I decided to try this place with my son on a weeknight when it was not too crowded. There is not much atmosphere at this location, but I am someone that would rather not pay extra for that anyway. Right off the bat we liked the waitress and the appetizers we got. The grilled oysters were simply delicious, as was the calamari, that was garlicky and plentiful, and that included both the rings and the tentacles which I love. As for the main meal, I really love the diversity of this place. They have a large selection of Italian dishes, as well as land lubber meals like steak to go along with the usual seafood menu. I opted for the stuffed peppers with penne pasta that was simply outstanding. And my son got the fish and chips which was also excellent. Neither of us could finish our meals, and we had a nice snack for later. The prices are right in line with others places, perhaps a little higher on some dishes, but well worth it for the quality, and portions. If I was to criticize anything about the place, it would have to be that there no burgers on the menu. In fact I didn’t see any sandwiches of any kind. Unusual in my opinion, but still a great place for some fine seafood, pasta, or a good steak. Very much recommended. Especially over Aunt Carries.

Very friendly and attentive staff. They were very accommodating to our 2.5 year old and 3 month old. The food was very good and had a home-cooked feel. The bar looked nice and would be a great spot for drinks. We definitely plan on coming back!

I should have trusted my instincts. As we pulled into the restaurant the parking lot wasn’t that full. We drove by about five restaurants that appeared full. That was an indication of our meal. We sat inside as the outside wasn’t anything appealing. Typical deck furniture you would see out on someone’s back deck. Two of us had parmigiana, mine veal chop, Owens chicken. First let me talk about the sauce. Tomato sauce was burnt, meaning its over cooked. Sauce should be bright red, not dark. My veal chop was huge but not flavorful. Similar to my wife’s meal, big but not flavorful. For example the olives had no taste so they are straight out of a can. Lastly if your menu is mostly Italian, why wouldn’t you have Chianti? They are ‘out of it’. That’s unbelievable. One could also argue me drinking wine is unbelievable but I’m trying to cut back on my carbs. Below average overall.

Four phrases to describe the Narragansett Grill: unpretentious, delicious food, great service, affordable. This review is for their service. We had our small rehearsal dinner at Narragansett Grill on June 21st. We had contacted Paul a few weeks before and we put together a special menu for our party, and he asked if we wanted to use the outside patio area for our 7pm reservation. I thought that was a great idea; after all, June 21st was the summer solstice. Who knew that at 7pm that night, it would be warm in Saunderstown but cold and windy in Narragansett? So we all arrive at the restaurant, we’re standing outside and everyone is rubbing their arms and hugging themselves to stay warm. I ask if they can accommodate the 14 of us inside. Unfortunately, the restaurant was full at that time, so we had to sit outside. They tried their best to keep us warm. They bought out the heat lamps, but unfortunately they were not working very well, so it took some tinkering before they could get them to work. But the staff tried very hard to make us comfortable. Even with the heat lamps, it was cold, but everyone was attempting to make the best of it and we placed our orders. Then around 8:00 pm, they herded us into the restaurant! Enough tables had cleared out and they were able to fit us inside! Hooray, we were warm! And very appreciative! Since we had requested the patio area and it was not their fault that it was so cold outside, they did not have to accommodate us. They went out of their way to make us comfortable, warm and happy and we could not have been more grateful!

My family and I were looking for a place to eat earlier this week. The typical places like the coast guard house were packed. We phoned Narragansett Grill and got a table for 12 people. The food was awesome. The service was excellent. With 12 people there was a wide range of selections and everyone was happy. From fish, scallops, linguini in clam sauce with fresh clams, mac & cheese with lobster, meatballs, burger, and more that I can’t remember. We were talking with Paul, a manager or head waiter, and learned that his family owns the restaurant and have been open for 4 years. If you want good food, good service, unpretentious environment, at a fair and family affordable cost, check out Narragansett Grill.

I only gave one star because Unilocal won’t let me give zero stars. I brought my mother and a friend who were visiting from out of town — what a mistake! We had 7:30 reservations, and when we arrived on time, our table wasn’t ready — despite the fact that there were several huge empty tables that should have been prepped, considering we had reservations for a party of 8(including 4 children). It’s not like we just dropped in, and the restaurant was quite empty when we got there. After waiting approximately 10 minutes to be seated, we then waited another 15 minutes before a server appeared. We ordered drinks(she didn’t know what a mojito was…), and apparently the scotch neat that my boyfriend ordered was just too complicated for the bartender. The waitress repeatedly told us that the bar was backed up, but it was very mysterious considering that the restaurant was really not busy at all. When our appetizers came, the calamari was soggy and the pita chips were stale(the waitress assured us they had just been made — if that’s the case, they need to rethink their recipe!). They were so limp that they wouldn’t hold a chunk of salsa without breaking, and they tasted like wet cardboard. The menu was a nightmare — the«chef» is apparently trying to be creative, but the result is a mishmash of dishes with a «twist» that sound like something you’d fish out of a garbage disposal. This place needs a good revamp of its entire menu — back to basics, stop trying to be pretentious — bacon wrapped scallops sounds great — but covered with«pesto and Sambuca cream sauce»?? No, thanks. Veal with«maple shaved carrot and pepperoncini»? Gah, no. What the heck is maple shaved carrot, anyway? Almost every dish that seemed to start out fine contained something in the description that made me think twice. I finally just ordered an appetizer sized salad. The rest of the party stuck to fish and chips, just to be safe. No matter — we waited over an hour for our entrees and ended up leaving before they even arrived. I asked twice to speak to the manager, and the front house staff didn’t seem to be interested enough to get him for me. When he finally did arrive, our party was all more than fed up. He begged my boyfriend to stay and wait for the food to be packed up so that it wouldn’t be thrown away, and we agreed to do that while the other two adults took the children home(you can’t make four little kids wait an HOUR for their food, nevermind adults). He told us that our entire visit was on the house — but then the waitress showed up and asked my boyfriend to pay the bar tab! The manager kept insisting that our food was«five minutes» from being ready…20 minutes later, we gave up and left. We took the family to Iggy’s down the street — and had food in hand less than five minutes later! I highly recommend Iggy’s!

First visit to the Narragansett Grill. Did not want to go due to previous experiences from poor restaurants at this location. Was pleasantly surprised. Friendly greeting, nice décor, great service, and incredible food. High praise from a tough critic. Our Waiter was very personable and efficient. The food WOW! We’ll be back.

The Narragansett Grill is a welcome port in Point Judith’s storm of fried food eateries. On one extreme, this South County peninsula hardens arteries with casual dining establishments featuring ocean views — like Aunt Carrie’s, George’s, Champlin’s and Iggy’s(no view). The other extreme is Spain, the revered fine dining eatery just a few hundred feet away from The Narragansett Grill. Expensive and pretentious, Spain is the Miami Vice banquet hall of Point Judith, but it is a much needed alternative to deep-fried fare. So what’s the deal with The Narragansett Grill? The food is good. It’s not the heat-and-serve junk that comes out of chain restaurant kitchens or the URI bars that also serve food. This is a place that actually preps fresh herbs and vegetables, buys seafood from local suppliers in Galilee, and knows how to cook delicious and healthy food. The owners, longtime South County residents, spent many years operating a fine dining restaurant on Block Island. Our recent meals included scallops, shrimp and little necks in a perfect(read«just spicy enough») fra diavolo sauce over linguini; and another linguini dish made with red clam sauce and little necks. Both were winners. The wine list and on-tap selection of microbrews is good. My martini was killer. Diners leaving before us polished off the last of the turtle cheesecake, which they claimed was the bomb. We spent $ 53(sans tip) for two entrees and two cocktails. Not cheap, but not much more dinero than a guilt-inducing trip to the obesity factories just down the road.

While spending a lovely week in Narragansett with some friends, we headed to the Narragansett Grill on the recommendation of our landlord. Bad move! Our evening started off just fine — the ambiance on the patio was nice, and we were quickly seated without reservations on a busy holiday weekend. We ordered a bottle of wine, and looked forward to seafood in Rhode Island. The calamari and bacon wrapped scallops weren’t bad — nothing to write home about, but fine. The clam chowder, however, was watery and bland. Fast forward to our main courses: it seems the chef was trying a little smoke and mirror action. Two of our dishes(the Surf & Turf Sautée, and the Seafood Risotto) emerged from the kitchen topped with an upended half a lobster. At first glance, the two of us who’d ordered the Seafood Fra Diavlo and the Baked Stuffed Flounder were a little jealous, but after each of us tasted all four dishes, we all walked away equally disappointed. All of the seafood was overcooked and poorly seasoned. The risotto was heavy and gummy; the flounder tasted of Mrs. Dash — with no detection of the scallops it promised to be stuffed with; the Fra Diavlo, perhaps the best tasting of the bunch, featured chewy bites of unidentifiable seafood masked in just enough spice to allow us to eat a quarter of the serving. The worst, by far, was the S&T Sautée. The turf was tough — well done gray sirloin chunks floated in a flavorless broth, along with equally over cooked pieces of seafood. and short pieces of angel hair. A bit like beef top ramen with only a pinch of the flavor packet thrown in. I will say that our waiter was attentive and friendly, helping us pick a second bottle of wine, and keeping our water glasses full. But a good server is not enough to save the Narragansett Grill.

Ok I don’t write a lot of reviews and there are aren’t enough restaurants in Narragansett but the people and the food make this place great. This location has gotten a bad rap for years but don’t let that stop you. Go see Paul and his Mom it’s worth the trip.

Ate there yesterday. It was good, but that’s as far as I’ll go. I had the calamari to start and the seafood fra diavlo. I’ve never had seafood fra diavlo before so I’m not sure if it was supposed to taste like what it tasted like. There certainly could have been more seafood and less garlic in it. I’m a big fan of garlic but I think this was too much. The linguine was cooked perfectly though. Calimari was $ 12 and entrée was $ 20. I’ve had far better meals for $ 32, but I’ve also had worse.
