New favorite phở place! Went to try this new restaurant out for the first time and everything tasted super yummy! Got the phở special and the broth tasted just right! Also tried the thai iced tea and the banh mi xa xiu sandwich and it tasted really good! If your in the area give this place a shot, really good food and service too!!!

This is our new place for Vietnamese in the Naperville area, before we had to drive all the way up to Joliet to get good Phở. I have had the Phở Tai Bo Bien, Phở Ga, and the Bun Dac Biet(the grilled pork with noodles dish) all three were excellent. I’m looking forward to trying the Bun Bo Hue special on the weekend.

I visited this new Phô place with great anticipation. The soup was pretty good, but not the best I’ve had in this area. I noticed how attentive the service was for other guests. I visited alone, and often got over looked while the servers catered to the parties of more than one. They had one customer’s order memorized as he was a regular. Not knocking this place at all, overall it was ok. I’ll def come back w more people and try other menu offerings.

So a friend of mine told me about this new Phở place in Naperville, so I decided to join them for dinner on a Friday night. Overall, the restaurant was very clean — as expected since it was opened recently. The reason I gave this place a 3 star was due to the food. Since I am very picky when it comes to Phở, I expected this place to at least get the flavor of the broth right. Overall, the beef Phở was bland to taste. The broth did not have the same strong flavors as other Phở places. We also ordered the Shrimp Spring rolls for appetizer, and similarly to other Unilocalers, our appetizer came out after the Phở — which was odd. That said; the rolls were decent but the peanut sauce was very bland — almost like it was diluted too much. Would I come back here again for Phở, not anytime soon since there are more choices elsewhere. As to the staff, I would give them 5 stars for great customer service. The waitress and the hostess were both«super» friendly throughout our dinner experience — which make up for the lack of flavors from their food. Hopefully, they will get their flavoring right as I would like to see them succeed in Naperville.

This place is a hidden gem. We ordered two different phở, two different spring rolls, egg rolls, the BBQ pork bahn mi, and the BBC pork entrée. All of it was absolutely delicious. I’ve had phở at many restaurants and this might be my favorite. The broth was so rich and flavorful, and the steak was sliced very thin. We ate almost everything, except a little bit of one bowl of phở. Our waitress packed it up, and when she came back, she said she gave us some extra. That was so sweet of her. The service was great and the food was even better. I highly recommend this place!

I am so excited that another Phở restaurant has opened in Naperville. We had lunch on a Saturday a week after they opened. The restaurant was bustling. There were families, couples and individuals inside. Facility 4⁄5 Very clean, bright and accessible. Dishes, silverware, tables, walls and floors were all spotless. Not a white tablecloth place. The kitchen was not visible but you could hear the cooking sounds. Took off one point because the location could be difficult to find. It is in a small strip mall adjacent to a registry of motor vehicles office and not visible from the road. There is plenty of parking in the mall lot, but if the registry is open, parking directly in front of the restaurant is hard to find. Service 3⁄5 The servers we happy, pleasant and knowledgeable. There were no language issues for those of us constrained by only knowing English. But there were issues with our order. We did not have a dedicated server. Anyone could take the order, deliver the food or deal with issues. That created confusion. There didn’t seem to be an expediter. One soup and one appetizer arrived first, then the second appetizer came after we asked about it. It wasn’t until we asked again that the second bowl of soup came out. We asked for Vietnamese coffee to be served with the meal, but it wasn’t until we tried to sort out the check that we finally received it. All of this could have been avoided by having a person coordinating the sequence of dishes coming out of the kitchen and by making individuals responsible. When everyone is responsible, no one is accountable and service suffers. Since they had just opened, I only took off two points. Food 5⁄5 Phở is a seasoned broth soup containing rice noodles, some meat and greens, herbs, vegetables and sauces you add to taste at the table. We had Phở with thin sliced steak, which cooks in the steaming broth and Phở with meatballs. I made the mistake of ordering the«extra noodles» and was stunned to receive an additional half-sized bowl full of noodles with a little broth. A bowl of Phở is very filling and satisfying and with the extra noodles, I ended up taking almost half of it home. The Phở had a hearty broth with a lot of taste. It felt homemade and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The House Special Wings appetizer was simply deep fried chicken wings with a special house sauce available on the table. The Grilled Pork Patty Rolls appetizer appeared to be some strips of fried pork belly, with lettuce and mint strips, plus hoisin sauce all wrapped in a rice paper wrapper and served cool. The pork was not at all greasy and added a great textural and taste balance. If you have never had Phở, go and have some. If you like Phở, go and have some. If you don’t like Phở(really?), go and have a Banh Mi sandwich. We will be back.

I went for a late lunch, so there was not a big crowd. The service was very attentive. That was my first real spring roll, I’m not a big fan of mint in my food but I enjoyed them very much. The Phở was a very large portion for me especially getting the spring rolls. I was able to take half of it all home. She put it in the take out containers for me and in the bag she included chop sticks, plastic wear and napkins which I thought was above and beyond for to go. The next time I have a taste for Phở I will return.

We live in Aurora and eat at restaurants nearby quite often. The restaurants around here is all of your normal mainstream Asian/Vietnamese staples, however this restaurants is unique and different. The staff here is excellent and their attitudes are amazing. The menu has a wide variety of selections it kinda makes it hard to select a dish. The environment here is really cozy and there’s many tables and chairs. Overall, our stay here was amazing me and friend will definitely be returning soon when we have the time.

I am always skeptical when trying a new Phở place due to the fact that I myself work at a Vietnamese restaurant and I have to say my boss set the standard pretty high.(I will not advertise the restaurant I work at as it would be very unfair and unprofessional to do so on another business’ Unilocal page). My friend and I order an appetizer and a couple entrees to share. We orders the House special wings, phở tai gan(sliced beef and tendon) with added meatballs and bun Thit Nuong cha gio(rice vermicelli with grilled pork and egg rolls). The server brought out our two entrees first and immediately came back with the appetizer. I was confused cuz I would assumed we would be eating our appetizer first but I got over it. The wings were really tasty. It’s a dry rub spicy wing as opposed to a saucy wing. I prefer the dry rub so I loved it. My friend likes saucy wings so she said it was ok. The phở was also ok in our opinion. The broth didn’t have much flavor to it. The slice beef was tender and so was the tendon. The meatballs were… let’s just say I’ve had better, homemade meatballs, rather than store bought, processed meatballs. The bun dish was also ok. The noodles was served cold, not my preference but the grilled pork was tender and flavorful. The staff was all very friendly from the moment we walked to the time we left out the door. y

Our new favorite place for Phở in the area! Excellent service and food. We ordered Spring rolls, Phở and the pork chop plate and would order them all again! Phở is often hit or miss with the broth — their broth was flavorful and mild enough for our kids to enjoy. Would definitely recommend this place to families with kids. It’s located right by the DMV so there’s plenty of parking and very easy to get to! They don’t have boba shakes, but they do have Thai iced tea and iced coffee. I missed the desserts section of the menu but will definitely try them out at our next visit!

I’ll preface this review by stating that whenever I see a new Unilocal page with an abundance of five star reviews, and said reviews are the ONLY reviews the Unilocaler has ever left, I am extremely skeptical to say the least! Having a Vietnamese wife with amazing culinary skills, I am no stranger to the flavors of traditional Viet cuisine. She has insisted we try many of the Vietnamese restaurants in both Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, despite the fact that we almost always leave dissatisfied. Unfortunately, Phở Thien was no exception. As a someone with a major preference toward eating pescetarian, I was very disappointed to see that the menu offers no vegetarian or strictly pescetarian entrees. It is 2016 now and vegetarians or pescetarians are no longer anywhere near the extreme end of the restrictive diet spectrum. I know plenty of vegetarian Buddhist Vietnamese as well so traditional ingredients is not an excuse either. I really didn’t want to order anything, but given that it was well past dinner time, and I hadn’t eaten for most of the day, I reluctantly did so. I opted for the Bun Dac Biet, asking that the grilled pork and pork containing egg roll be omitted, and the Banh Beo Tom Chay as an appetizer. I thought the appetizer was tasty, my wife on the other hand did not, citing the lack of fried onion and substitution of sauteed shrimp for what should have been dried shrimp. This Bun Dac Biet dish was neither amazing nor terrible(not that it could be given its very basic ingredients). However, my wife was very disappointed to see that the wide variety of mints and leaves traditionally included in this dish had been severely scaled back to only cilantro. She ordered a bowl of beef Phở for herself, and a bowl of chicken Phở for our sons. They aren’t old enough to to know how bland the soup was, but my wife certainly did and she forced me to try a spoonful of the beef broth. There was merely a slight aftertaste of the cinnamon, cloves, fennel, and star anise that define the distinctive Phở flavor. Coincidentally I asked my wife what Thien meant, she informed me that it indicated this place was claiming to be Phở Heaven. If this is the case, an eternity in Phở hell should be something they threaten all badly behaved Vietnamese children with. The only thing that saved this experience from being one star was the service. Both our waitress and the manger were very attentive and pleasant.

The husband & I wanted to try this place out since we saw a post about it from a friend. I’m picky when it comes to Phở, especially phở in the suburbs! The place was nice, staff were friendly, & food was very tasty! We ordered the spring rolls– which had an even amount of ingredients in the roll. At some places I feel like I’m eating a «lettuce/mint» roll with a piece of shrimp. I got the Phở tai bo vien– that’s with thin slices steak with beef meat balls. Like I said, I’m very picky with my phở, & let’s just say I’ll be back again! Broth is flavorful, seasoning is not as harsh/strong tasting as some places make theirs. They aren’t stingy with the noodles, sliced steak & meatballs. My husband ordered the Bun thit nuong cha gio– rice noodles served with grilled pork & eggrolls. He’s a very picky eater & he actually really enjoyed it & said he would order it again. I’m actually surprised he didn’t order«safe» with a banh mi sandwich. Lastly, we ordered some thai iced tea to go & you can’t go wrong with that drink!(Next time we’ll check in & get that free drink:)) Thanks Phở Thien Vietnamese kitchen! We’ll definitely be back & tell our family & friends to check you guys out :)

A few days before Phở Thien’s opening, the owner(?) had been driving around and giving free to-go box samples of food to businesses around their restaurant. I received one and really liked the variety and quality of the samples. Later that week, my mom went to the opening day celebration to try the food as well. My mom and I went into the restaurant again for a late lunch yesterday. When we first entered into the restaurant we were immediately greeted by the waitresses and quickly seated and served. I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant. We ordered a Phở Dac Biet, Bun Dac Biet and Com Tam Dac Biet(a special phở dish, rice dish and vermicelli dish). The Bun Dac Biet and Com Tam Dac Biet were to-go. Though service and the quality of the food was good, my mom and I were disappointed by the quantity of the food. My mom had also tried the phở, pork rice dish and a banh mi on opening day; however, she told me that the quantity and variety of items during the opening day were greater than when we tried it yesterday. The phở we had yesterday was mainly soup and noodles but there was only a few thinly slices of meat and only two halves of a meatball, one small tendon and a tiny sliver of tripe. Though there were a lot of listed meats on the menu, we did not seem to get that bountiful display. Additionally, after taking our to-go orders home, the first thing my mom commented on was the fact that the pork rice dish was missing some items that she had seen during opening day(such as grilled shrimp). And once again the quantity of food was low. On the vermicelli dish, we only had two grilled shrimp and a few small cuts of meat and some pickled vegetables as well as some cucumbers. The rice dish had one slab of meat, a salad, pork skin, a sugar cane shrimp and an egg. Though the flavor was very good, the amount of food that we were getting for the price just did not seem to add up. Back in Oregon, we used to go to a few different Vietnamese restaurants and the costs there were lower there and the amount of food we got was also more. However, since they are a very new restaurant, the consistency and quantity of food might just be something they need to work on for next time! Pros: –Good and fast service –Clean restaurant –Good tasting food Cons: –Overpriced for amount and variety of food you get –Consistency of food day to day

I’m a PHOfessional eater, I know when it’s an awesome bowl of phở and this place has it. My boyfriend ordered a rice plate(#19) and I had their phở(#23). He’s very satisfied and surprised at how much food came out on the plate. My phở was very filling and full bodied. I would totally recommend this place to all my friends! They have a wide variety of dishes, and they are very accommodating to food allergies. We’re totally would come back!

I visited the Chicago area from California with a few of my friends. Some of us were craving phở so we decided to look for a Vietnamese restaurant nearby and stumbled up this newly opened one. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted with friendly smiles by their staff who wore traditional Vietnamese dresses(which we found really cool!) While my friends ordered Phở, I ordered #3 and #32. The pork spring rolls and the sauce, I might boldly add, are better than the ones from Brodard’s in Los Angeles. The vermicelli noodles and grilled pork were full of flavor and had me debating whether I should take another round to-go. The food and service here was top-notch, and probably the best we experienced while visiting Chicago and its suburbs.

I visited the area from San Francisco, California, and I was looking for a warm bowl of phở. That’s when I found this gem that just opened! The staff wore Ao Dai(traditional Vietnamese dresses) for their grand opening and greeted me with friendly smiles. Everyone was very courteous and polite. I got the Phở Dac Biet(#23) and it was exactly what I needed. The broth was on point and the noodles and beef were fresh. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll have to come back to try their rice plates!

I wasn’t sure how I would like the food here since it seemed like vietnamese restaurants aren’t as prevalent around here, but this was a very pleasant surprise! Service and food was good and impressive, given that they just recently opened. I ordered phở(#23), and it reminded me of the phở we have back home in San Jose(If you know anything about California or the Bay Area, you KNOW San Jose is the place to go for Vietnamese food! haha). If I’m ever back in the area, I look forward to coming back to this spot and trying out the different items on their menu :)

So good. The restaurant is beautiful. It’s a very nice set up. Very inviting. Nicely done. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the iced coffee which was one of the best iced coffees I’ve ever had and woke me up. I also had the egg rolls and the pork bahn mi. The egg rolls were good(ask for peanut sauce; you’ll thank me). Bahn mi is my favorite. It’s a sandwich, this one had pork one it, and pickled vegetables. Again, so good. I was looking for a place around here with a good Bahn Mi and I couldn’t be happier this place opened.
