Came here on the way back down to SF. Expert prices, bland and thrown together food! Was really surprised at how awful it was, actually. Basically NYC deli quality, which is better than this!(I ordered a salad, tacos, and white bean soup.) Eat in St Helena instead. Any place there is way way way better.

Made in Napa Culinary Center has a great café– and even the ICEWATER is good! They put orange slices and mint leaves in it. Their spice mixes are excellent. The culinary center has a good selection of cookbooks, teas, spice mixes, free samples, etc. I’ve gone to a few of their classes, and learned something useful. What’s too bad is that due to the economy, the store/café is rarely open. Their corporate office is open all year, and they will give you a spice mix per request. Some mixes are only available at select times of the year(Napa Valley Meritage Mix is only available beginning in September) According to their site, they’ve partnered with Food Network celebrity chef Tyler Florence. Hopefully, this place will one day be open more often. Their café is great, especially for breakfast before hitting the road.

Occassionally I come here for lunch because I’m lazy. The food here is really good… but it’s really expensive and the service is slow. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for something really quick, unless you call ahead. The mushroom sliders have this great tangy flavor, but there’s a little too much bread. Their fry sampler(with regular fries and sweet potato fries) is really good. They use a coarse kosher salt and they’re fried perfectly. Another thing there that’s really good is the Shanghai Chicken Salad with pecan-crusted chicken. Their sodas are old-fash in glass bottles, no cans or cups. You can get Coke in a bottle here if that means anything to you.
