They have THE best GF sourdough bread. I am super bummed they are closed. Hopefully they will find a new kitchen soon. But C Casa does have some of the brownies, brownies and other goodies.

COMPLETELYGLUTENFREEBAKERY If you are gluten free, you know that many store bought GF items taste like cardboard. I don’t usually bother buying those. So when fellow Unilocaler Nadia K. told me about Cate & Co. In the Oxbow Public Market, I knew had to check it out. Freshly made cinnamon rolls, pastries, and what?! A quiche?! Wow best tasting GF quiche ever! BREADCLUB: they also have a GF bread club you can sign up for and get monthly shipments sent to your house! No more hard stale frozen bread! It was awesome to see so many GF places at Oxbow Public Market. This was one of the reasons I went back several times to Oxbow during my 2-day stay in Napa.

The high marks are for the GF baked goods. We had donuts, cinnamon rolls, sourdough boule, and French baguette. A celiac 18 years, I can easily say«nice job, thank you.» I was not as impressed with the sandwich of 4 cheese. The arugula was overpowering of the sandwich. For those of the poorer reviews I read on this site, my guess is they truly do not understand how difficult it is to bake gluten free.

Is there really such thing as guilt free or «healthy» pork? You know that it’s a solid spot, when Whole Foods, «healthy» food hater hubby goes, «it’s not bad for gluten free.» We were in Napa for Valentine’s Day weekend and decided on getting a quick bite before heading back home. This place nearby looked really busy so we just decided on Oxbow. Cate & Co. looked interesting and they were friendly answering questions. We decided to share a scrambled egg & proscuitto breakfast sandwich. They let us still order it even though it was way past breakfast. After about 10 minutes it was ready. They explained to us how the proscuitto was«all natural» with no filers and such. The sandwich wasn’t greasy at all and was served with some tangerine slices and pomegranete seeds. We also got a package of their Kennebec White Truffle Chips. At $ 6 the small bag of chips was a splurge but was so good! Truffle scent and flavor in every bite and totally crisped fresh chips. The breakkie sammie was a grilled sammie with proscuitto, scrambled egg and arugula. More egg whites though and no yolk. Nice and light and even though it had pork in it it still tasted healthy. Great options for those searching for gluten free and a little on the healthier side. 3.5 rounded up.

Lovely little spot in the Oxbow Market. Very cute. Nice Counter person. High hopes cause lots looks yummy. I’d love to give them at least 4 stars. but here is the deal. I spent a very princely sum on just 2 items. White Truffle Kennebec Chips and Cheese laces.. Both items had a rancid taste. Plus if there was a tad of white truffle in those chips I could not find it. Seemed really old product. and well I threw them away. Cheese crips are not hard to make at home. I do not know bout truffle potato chips but popcorn is a breeze. Don’t bother spending your money here.. Unless you think you need to spend lots of money for stuff you never tasted before. This is not taste bids Nirvana. Just pretentious.

Went hungry to the Oxbow Public Market after wine tasting, was on the lookout for something tasty to eat. The sandwiches here looked appetizing, so thought we would try them out. I really wanted to like this place, but was disappointed due to: –Extremely long time it took for our sandwiches to be prepared(waited at least 20 minutes for 4 sandwiches) –Order was messed up(we received a sandwich we didn’t order in place of one we ordered) –Hair found on my sandwich! –Size of sandwiches were very small for the price of $ 10 each –Tasted inedible/like plastic(no one enjoyed their sandwich, I couldn’t even finish half of mine) I would go somewhere else next time you’re at Oxbow.

Cate & Co. Was a short and sweet experience! A quick bite at the oxbow market was by far the best impromptu brunch I’ve had, ever! I ordered the egg white avocado panini on sourdough. it was small, savory, a perfect combination of cheeses with the spice of arugula. It was SOGOOD! It also came with a few tangerines on the side(to cleanse the palette). It was the simplest fresh ingredients and it burst with flavor. Tangerines with pomegranates, shaved coconut, basil, lemon and sea salt. I wanted to eat an entire bowl of it, if I could! $ 7.50, it was a very small portion, but worth every single crumb and you know I ate every crumb! Can’t wait to go back and try anything else of their menu!!!

Ordered the BLT, and it was the smallest sandwich I’ve ever seen in my life. It also came with the equivalent of one tablespoon of strawberries. I guess that’s what you can expect in the Napa Valley, but not worth it for me.

A gluten free bakery and deli? So awesome. The four cheese panini was absolutely delicious! I’d try to get there before three since a lot of the parties and some of the sandwich accoutrements were out. Good luck with the crowds inside Oxbow marketplace!

*Review on their chocolate chip cookie only* As I passed by, a package of their chocolate chip cookies caught my eye. They looked amazing and lightly sated to boot! We kept walking and circled back several hours later after surveying other baked goods in the downtown area. I bought one cookie and to my grave disappointment looks definitely deceived me. The cookie was dry, cakey not chewy, and overpoweringly molasses-tasting. I wanted this to be great, but instead I was let down.

This is a nice place, especially for those who are looking for gluten free food. The cookies are de’lish! It’s located in the Oxbow Marketplace. So, being up in the Napa region and in the artisan marketplace the prices are on par with their peers, which always tends to be on the higher side compared to standard grocery stores, bakeries and stores you shop for staple food items. This is more of a boutique. I’m giving it the extra star since they service the GLUTENFREE community. The service is friendly.

Oxbow is single handedly one of the cutest places. ever! Nothing beats wandering the shops, cafes and restaurants after a long day of wine tasting. On the first morning of a girls trip to Napa, a girlfriend and I decided to start our day here for breakfast and coffee. After all, if you’re going to wine taste like a professional, you need a strong base later! I decided to get a sandwich from Cate&Co. I am not a big bread-girl, but today seemed like a good day to forget that. I ordered the Vegetable Bahn Mi. It came up quickly and looked absolutely amazing! The type of dish that people stare at when you walk by. It was pretty normally-priced for a Napa Sandwich($ 11) and the portion was generous. The sandwich was accompanied by a small fresh fruit salad with toasted coconut. The sandwich itself was amazing! Crispy with ton of flavor. The vegetables were perfectly pickled and the edamame spread was flavorful! Good work, Cate&Co!

I honestly think I’ve died and gone to gluten free heave when I nosh on their breads! I have had two different boules and both are amazing bread — not just because it is gluten free. The texture would sway even the tallest naysayer of gluten free foods. They offer a bread club for devoted lovers that is $ 37/month that I believe is next up for this GF foodie. It comes with 3 breads and one special choice each month picked and delivered to your doorstep. Honestly, as with any gluten free food, you have to get over the price tag of $ 10 or $ 14 a loaf because it is just expensive to be gluten free — deal with it. This bread is worth every dollar spent and will leave your belly not hurting but your taste buds wondering if you cheated it is so good. Trust and try it; I would be surprised to meet anyone who isn’t a believer after trying it.

Review is only for the breakfast sandwich so I can’t comment on the pastries which look delicious. The sandwich was surprisingly small and you could tell the egg was microwaved or pre-cooked and reheated. The bread was tasty and the melted cheese a nice touch but it’s hard to love an egg sandwich if the egg isn’t fresh. Would give it another shot for the pastries and lunch sandwiches but pass on the breakfast.

If you’ve ever asked yourself what it would be like if you died and went to gluten-free heaven, you can find out by heading over to Cate & Co right now. It was so good that I went back twice in one weekend. And the gluten-eater in my life said that it was excellent and most of the stuff you couldn’t tell if it was gluten-free. Like many long-time gluten-free eaters, I went first for the foods I can’t normally eat, like the banh mi on baguette(crunchy! delicious! covered in melted cheese!) and the donut(excellent, for a donut, though I remembered that I was never really a huge donut person). Yes, you should make an extra trip to come here. It’s in the middle of Napa’s downtown food market so you can find something to satisfy every member of your group and enjoy the ambiance.

I loved my vegetable Banh Mi. So good, yum yum. It was made fresh, not from the deli case. Beets, avocado, gluten free bread, and a delicious spread made for a great experience! The donut was not my favorite. Bear in mind the place is a gluten free bake shop. If you want a donut, just go get the donut from a donut spot(unless you actually have a gluten allergy). I tried the donut for the novelty of it and, sadly, was disappointed. To wash it all down I had a Mexican coke(this is trendy Napa after all;)

Cate & Co. is 100% gluten free; I wonder why more places don’t capitalize on this concept. Most that have needed to go gluten free can attest that they miss their breads and pastries. Since visiting Napa, this has been a daily staple for me. I’ve had sampling a of their breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches. They are all very good. The serving sizes are smaller than what you may be used to from the cheaper days of wheat loaded products, but the servings are appropriate for an artisan type bakery. I’m a fan of their applewood bacon breakfast sandwiches and their egg salad sandwiches for lunch. Their cinnamon rolls are very good, but in my opinion they are over sweet. At the same time, they are the only fresh gluten free cinnamon rolls I’ve ever found, so they are awesome in my book! They miss opportunities for up sells and I always felt rushed ordering, even with nobody behind me in line. I’m sure they’d find they can even sell more of their product if they asked if you wanted a cookie with your order. A staple for me in Napa! If you’re gluten free, you can rest easy with any of your choices here. The food is excellent for gluten free.

I was excited to see a gluten-free bakery, as my SO does not eat gluten. I bought a few chocolate chip cookies, which looked delicious. Unfortunately, they were just OK, and not nearly as good as the ones I can make myself. They tasted strongly of molasses, and it was a bit overpowering. The next day I tried a breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread, and that was pretty good.
