This was my first time to visit the Oxbow Public Market. The food is diverse, offering«something for everyone». I stumbled onto Five Dot while«making the rounds». And, I was instantly faced with a major dilemma. What did I want to order besides everything on the menu? Because of some time constraints, I elected to order the meat pie. It came quickly, 10 – 15 mins, accompanied with a small side salad. I had a pot type pie in mind but was surprised to see an empanada type item on my plate. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try. And, I was pleasantly surprised by its taste and texture. Good job! My brother in law ordered one of their burgers. After about a 30 minute wait(most likely due to the holiday weekend), he had his burger. It was, however, a bit underdone as he wanted it medium but received a medium rare(closer to rare) burger. It still tasted good though.

Skip the BLT. I was very excited for a $ 15BLT, thinking it must be amazing… not so much. There was hardly any bacon on it, and the bacon tasted like jerky. Big fresh tomatoes though!

Pricy but worth the money. The quality of the beef is excellent but when they cooked the steak, it turned out to be a little bit over cooked and under tasted. The side dishes were excellent.

I am going to tell the world… I have not eaten red meat in 28 years but I ATEONE bite of this filet and I can say it was the most tender flavorful bite! Wow I had no idea what I was missing! Their filet was almost tender enough to cut with your fork!

If you want food quality meat, this is the place to go! You know you’re getting quality meat when they don’t need anything but simple salt and pepper to season your meat. We normally get the ribeye; however this time decided to go for the Korean short ribs. Whenever I’ve had Korean short ribs, it’s usually marinated in a sweet marinade; this however was just seasoned with salt and pepper — it was the BEST Korean short ribs I have ever had(both my husband and I agreed!). We had it with their Mac N’ Cheese(I’ve had better, but it was OK) and their Brussels sprouts(HIGHLYRECOMMEND, even my husband who doesn’t really like vegetable enjoyed it). Next time you are in Oxbow Market, stop by, choose your meat(they cook it) and sides — you won’t be disappointed!

Love the«pick your slab of meat and have it cooked for you» concept! I didn’t do that though. I did a sandwich. It was the cinqo de mayo special. Carnitas, cilantro, and some other stuff on a roll. It was good, but not as flavorful as some of the yummy sandwiches I’ve recently had. It was pretty pricey, but there was a lot of plentiful meat. I am close to a 4, but not quite there. I think the right thing to order would have been the meat pie. That’s what my aunt had and I think the short rib in it was way more flavorful than my carnitas. Oxbow Market is a cool concept, although the seating isn’t super plentiful. I’d be willing to give it another go… but I would have picked something different.

I’ve only had some of their entrees here. I’ve had their seasonal waffles for breakfast, their breakfast burritos and for lunch i’ve had their hot dog. What I enjoy about this place is that they both offer ready to eat food and they offer steak that you can grill at home or there. Their waffles are really good especially with their seasonal fruits. Their breakfast burrito is HUGE. They cut it in half and I kid you not, I can only eat ½ of it because it is so heavy. I wish they offered mayo on their hotdog, because I’m pretty boring and only eat my hot dog with mayo(yes i know I’m so boring). The staff is always super friendly and nice. Tip them!

We have come here 3 times just in the last week because it is so good! The service is excellent and the food so what more could you ask for?! The meat pie is absolutely delicious and the Five Dot Ranch Burger is by far the best hamburger I have ever had! My husband and I love this place! If you are in the area I strongly recommend you stop by you won’t regret it. The meat is all locally raised and all natural. Everything is very high quality and tastes so fresh and delicious! I’m so glad we found them!

4 Stars for the Service and the food, but the experience… well you judge that. We got to the Oxbow market and stood in line at 5Dot at 11:28. We were behind 4 folks who were ordering individually and asking a lot of questions. By the time we got to the counter(11:37), I knew i wanted Breakfast. Well, the biscuits look amazing. Big and golden brown, so i asked for a Breakfast Sandwich on the biscuit. The counter guy said they stopped serving breakfast at 11:30. I looked at my watch, looked at the guy quizzically. He said, «let me go check with the chef». He went in to the kitchen area and came back shaking his head. «No, we can’t do breakfast.» he said. Interesting, ok. I asked if i could have the breakfast patty with a fried egg and chedder cheese on the biscuit. All the items i asked for was in the computer and available. He even inputted the items(11.28) vs the normal 7.95, but oh well, I like breakfast. After he entered everything, the counter guy realized what I had done. Then the counter guy went back to the kitchen real quick and asked again. Again, the Chef said no. Foiled. I ended up with the biscuit and a side of Mac and Cheese. About the biscuit… Delicious. Totally worth the drive and the 2.95 cost. Warm it up and put the apple spread on it and you’ll want more and more. The Mac and Cheese — Penne Pasta and a good amount of flavorful cheese sauce. I was unable to discern what type of breadcrumbs were used, but delicious none the less and a good enough value at 6 even. Again, Great customer service. Quality food. I’ll return, just this time well prior to 11:30 for that sandwich.

If you’re a vegetarian this place will still make your mouth water with their portobello mushroom burger. Instead of the meat patty, they use a humongous mushroom that is juicy and well seasoned. I am not vegetarian but I will come back again to order that burger again.

5 Dot Ranch is famous for its meat. It’s a ranch that’s been around since the 1850s. I got their biscuit with sausage&breakfast potatoes. The menu was ambiguous as to whether it was a sausage biscuit sandwich, or biscuits&gravy. I had expected the latter, but instead I got the upscale version of a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich. The breakfast potatoes were excellent– but alas, not enough of them. The sausage was great, as was the fried egg, cooked perfectly. However, the cheddar cheese biscuit was VERY dry. I prefer their chilaquiles(despite being meatless). It would be great if they had biscuits&gravy, because they’d make it right.

I had the 2 cuts(together 0.6 pounds) of fillet mignon, which I hand picked from the market, and was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended cooked medium rare, which was just perfect, and for a funny price of 30 $ with two(great) sides. I will come back here for sure for more steaks.

Pros: For a food court kind of place, this restaurant was excellent! I had their food around breakfast/lunch time and it did not disappoint! I got their chips and salsa with avocado and skirt steak which was delicious! Their breakfast burrito was pretty decent with a good amount of potatoes that makes it very filling. The turn around time was pretty decent and the cashier was nice! Being that it’s in the Oxbow plaza, you don’t need to pay tip or bus your own plates! Cons: It was a bit pricier than what you may get but overall pretty good value! Overall: I would definitely recommend stopping by for a hearty brunch!

We ordered our dinner here last night. I had their special of the day, a tasty variation of chili with super tender oxtail meat and a side of fries cooked with pork fat(also known as «lard» :-)). My friend had the meat pie that looked a lot like empanadas. The meat in the pie tasted like brisket. The coleslaw that came with it was really creamy and flavorful. My dish probably had about 2,000 calories but I was only able to eat half of it, it’s that filling, so it’s not as bad for me, right? (As an aside observation, you know you’re in the wine country when you get your food served to you in disposable containers but the wine are all served on glass wares!) Anyway, it was both our first time visiting Oxbow Market and we both very much enjoyed trying out this shop’s offerings. I look forward to another visit to see what they come up with for their ‘daily special”!

I love Oxbow Market, and there are so many great food options that you want to chose wisely, and sadly, Five Dot Ranch was just okay. We ordered a Burger and the Short Rib Sandwich. The Burger was very good but fairly typical of a good restaurant burger. The Short Rib was very bland and disappointing. Also had an order of Mac & Cheese which was good. I wish the food came with fries, but it was just potato chips. Overall, not a place that I would go back to right away, given all the options here.

The restaurant is counter service inside of Oxbow Market, which is awesome but finding a seat during busy hours my serve problematic. The meat looks great here. It’s a butcher so you’re able to buy uncooked meat to take home as well as a hot meal to have there or takeaway. Service was friendly enough so no gripes there. I tried to order a pastrami sandwich without thousand island dressing. Their menu states they may decline altering the menu to «better serve you.» The gentleman ringing me up wanted to check to make sure it was possible to order the sandwich without the dressing but came back and said they were already assembled. It wasn’t during busy time, so the thought of the bread sopping up the dressing sounded very unappealing. No worries, the ball tip steak gyro sounded good to me so I opted for that. The meat was delicious but it was served in a tortilla which isn’t very gyro in my opinion. The taziki sauce it was served with was tasty. The meal was ok but didn’t leave a great las timing impressing. I would try this place again but opt for a different dish.

Five Dot Ranch is located inside Oxbow Market along with a plethora of other eateries. I chose Five Dot Ranch because their menu featured a selection of hearty breakfast options. I decided on their sausage and egg biscuit with a side of potatoes. With a side of tapatio and strawberry jam my meal was truly delicious. With the market being in Napa I was expecting to have to overpay for my meal but to my pleasant surprise I actually got my money’s worth here in terms of quality and quantity. The giant biscuit sandwiched a large egg over medium and an even larger sausage patty. This wasn’t a flimsy McDonald’s sausage patty either. It was hearty and full of flavor. The potatoes were just a bit cheesy and made for a nice side dish. Overall I was very satisfied with my meal and it definitely held me over til around lunch time. A few of my other friends ordered from Five Dot Ranch and enjoyed their meals as well. They included burritos and chilaquiles. When entering Oxbow the number of options may seem a bit overwhelming but rest assured that Five Dot is a solid option.

It’s no surprise that the steak sandwich was made with some of the tastiest, juiciest steak that I’ve ever had.

Five Dot should be more like One Dot My friends and I entered Oxbox Public Market wanting to try C Casa and quickly discovered the variety of vendors inside the market. We then decided we would pick different things to try out. I wanted to order a beef sandwich because I hadn’t had one in so long and it simply smelled delicious. I ordered a beef sandwich and not only did they take very long, it was also a cold sandwich, something I was not expecting. I then asked to have the meat warmed or simply put a bit longer on the grill. When I returned for my sandwich I was given the Reuben sandwich, something completely different than what I had initially ordered. I could’ve maybe sucked it up and ate it but it had sauerkraut, one of the very few things I absolutely can’t stand. By that point, I was extremely fed up and simply asked for my money back. I felt very bad returning two separate meals, but I simply was not satisfied. I really hope nobody else has an experience like this.

If you have ever been to San Pedro Square in San Jose, well this is the Napa version of it. Lots of small shops/restaurants, that are pretty expensive, but darn good! I came here and got a steak sandwich and while it was a bit on high dollar range, and the portion wasn’t all that large, it was simply amazing. I could taste every bite and I truly felt ecstasy with each and every single bite. It’s also topped with a fried egg which gives you the extra kick to finish off a day of wine tasting. It did the job very feel. I ordered it medium rare which is the way you should always eat your meat. Scouts honor! They also have a large assortment of meats that you can buy and take home. Again, a bit pricey, but they sure looked juicy and tender. Also, what really put this place on the map for me was the customer service. There was an older lady who didn’t take my order, but was very kind and thoughtful and made sure that I knew my food was coming shortly. She had a very kind spirit and that goes a long way for me. Overall, a huge thumbs up for this meat lover!
