Nantucket books Is one of my favorite book shops. There is never a visit to Nantucket when I don’t make my way in for book hunt and End up leaving with a pile of books. The buyer for this store must be obsessed with reading … Based on the wide range of choices in this one store there is the typical old classic and best seller sections but it’s the new up and coming authors that Nantucket books seems to find before the rest of the world.

Extremely thoughtful collection of books, board games, and specialty items. I am only on Nantucket for vacations, and I stop each year to find something. I never have been let down. A beyond helpful staff is very friendly, and there have been nice Unilocal sign in bonuses. I already look forward to next year.

I LOVED this bookstore. Fantastic book selection, with staff write-ups on favorites. Great accessory selection, as well as cards, calendars, and Tattly tattoos. Overall adorable.

This is such a cute, eclectic kind of book story that just seems to work on this island. You can go browse around and find books on Nantucket, or a silly gift like a wallet that moos, or uncoredcted advanced proof copies of books for a small donation. It’s all the things you don’t necessarily expect to find here, but love when you do. I always walk in and wish they had a table where I can sit with a book and read for a bit. They do have little nooks that would work, but it haven’t been brave enough(or patient enough) to camp out yet. It’s definitely a place worth stepping in to and exploring.

Great local bookstore. We always visit when on the island. Nantucket Bookworks and Mitchell’s are now jointly owner, so are often able to cross-check availability of a requested book. Also the managers are more than willing to order anything not in stock.

In addition to having some of the most interesting books that I can’t find anywhere else, Nantucket Bookworks has the cutest board games and accessories I’ve ever seen in a shop its size. I’d buy the whole place if I had the time and money, and I really hope it doesn’t change like all the other stores in the area have(they’ve downgraded to keep up with today’s trends, while the bookstore has remained awesome throughout the years). The icing on the cake is its free WiFi and the cool knick knacks and candies it sells at the front desk. I really recommend picking out some exciting adventures there for when the island has rainy days.

Kids and adults agree this is the best store on Nantucket. Also a great gift store(wrapping paper, quirky gifts, cards, toys in the back). Whenever we go to Nantucket, this is our favorite in-town destination.

Lovely, well-organized bookshop with friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful selection and good use of the space. They also have a great stationery room with note cards and gift packaging.

My favorite bookstore ever, and I’m sort of a bookstore junkie, seeking them out wherever I travel, so take that as you will. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff, great place to hang and browse, everything is organized well, and they have a surprisingly complete stock for such a small place. Also great for books and gifts for kids. One of my favorite ways to kill time on the island. Can’t say enough good things about them.

I’ve lived on island for just about 4 years now, and Bookworks has been an exceptional store every time I’ve gone in. The staff is friendly and helpful, I’ve had a few wonderful conversations with them during the slow season. It’s small, but they do their very best to stock it with something for everyone. It’s charming and it has so much character, you can’t help but fall in love. When I’m in need of a cute, personal gift for a friend, Bookworks is my first stop. Yes, there is another book store on the island. I’ve been to both. I only recommend Bookworks. The parking could be better, as it’s only street parking and during the summer it’s near impossible to get a spot close to the store, but if you want a good book and a lovely atmosphere, it’s worth the walk.

This is my favorite bookstore in Nantucket. It’s got a lot of quirks and a lot of books. It also has cool knick knacks and a great card room, with unique cards, notebooks, and the like. The children’s area is also really spectacular. My only complaint is that it is small. I’d love to just sit here and read for hours…

I’ve never wished for 6 or even 7 stars as much as I did when I saw this named here… I love, love, love this funky little book shop. I would not be who I am had I not spent a lot of time and a lot of cash in this place… My love of books and obscure philosphy texts began right in this shop. And it’s great for gifts too!

I love the old-timey local feel of this bookstore. We were staying at the Jared Coffin House next door, and this lovely little nook of a bookstore gave me a fun place to poke around in. I love bookstores, I’m a book editor, actually, but I order most of my books on Amazon now, so I really relish checking out local bookstores when I’m on vacation. Sure, they sell a lot of bestsellers(HELLO BESTsellers, they do have to make money), but I thought they also had a lot of really neat, interesting things here. Feeling inspired by my trip to Nantucket, I bought a copy of Moby Dick, right there, on the spot. Sure I could have ordered from Amazon, but then I wouldn’t have been able to sit on the Nantucket docks reading EXACTLY what I wanted. Another plus is that they stay open late, unlike most things, so if you’re looking for something to do, check out Bookworks.

I gave it 5 stars because if you want a book in town, this is the only place to go. Bookworks is a very cute locally owned shop — reminiscent of what NE bookstores might have been before Barnes and Noble. They have a great selection, with plenty of beach reads, biographies, New England history, magazines, activity toys for the kiddies, and games for adults.(One year we got rained in so took up Cribbage after buying the board there.) I’ve never done it, but they’ll order books for you too, if you’re going to be on the island for a while.
