The food was good, the service was not so much. Our waiter did not come and check on us and we had to go get her. Since we ate outside there were worms falling from the trees above and it was disgusting.

Little like a dive bar(but on a Nantucket level, ok people?) Totally fine. Get a drink, talk to the bartender, proceed on with your evening.

Lunch at Brotherhood of Thieves can be very pricey. Their lobster roll was $ 32.00, $ 12.00 move than the tavern. They have a lovely outdoor seating area. I ordered an appetizer, the poutine. That was short rib meat on crispy potato skins. Whatshisname ordered a veggie burger. His burger was average. It came with curly fries. My poutine was good but the skins were so crispy that you could not taste any potato. Okay but I’m not over the moon about this place. Would I come back here? No, there are too many places to eat on Nantucket.

O have to say, w were a little hesitant after all the middle of the road reviews i read. We even tried to go to two other places, but they were closed since it was May!?! So we went in and it was surprisingly very busy. After 10 min wait on a Tues, we both had the pork chops and reds potato mash special. It was actually very good and a better deal than most restaurants around at twenty one. $. Better than expected. I would go back

Good food Nice lobster bisque. However, when a place in a resort area will not take American Express they lose points in my opinion. It means they are more concerned with profit than serving a good product. Was all set to say I would recommended and plan to go back. But now I doubt very much I will. Plenty of pubs take American Express.

I just went to this restaurant and the person responsible to seating tables treated me so rude. I have never seen anything like that. I was with kids and he seated another table in front of mine even thought I arrived before. When I complained he told me to leave to get out of there. I am never going back to this place and I will tell everyone that I know not to go there. I was not the only one. He was mistreating all the clients. Very stressed because the restaurant was packed. Someone like that should not work with people.

OK bar /tavern food as one might expect, but not like the days of old with the previous establishment. Being a summertime and off season regular with property and family on the Island for over 50 years, I have continuously requested, each and every year, that the restaurant owners and managers bring back the customer favorite and«menu staple» for more than 20 years; Cheddar Cheese Soup. Unfortunately, no one listens.

We were treated with a very nice hello and how are ya by the sweet hostess who ended up being our waitress, too. We sat downstairs. The atmosphere is ok… clean, informal and not to dark. Our server was one of the best we have ever had. She was on top of her game! I had the Reuben, which was the best Reuben I have ever eaten. It was layered with warm sauerkraut and cheese… all on grilled pumpernickel. It was smoked, so the flavor was rich and perfect. It came with a large side salad with fresh pea shoots! The lettuce was fresh and actually tasted like it supposed to! Delish! Husband had fried cod and curly fries. He ate it all, so it must have been tasty. Prices are great here for what we ordered.

Nostalgia is such a tricky thing. It can set us up for happiness by reliving long-lost experiences, but it can also set us up for disappointment, reminding us that the past is gone. When I was younger, going to the Brotherhood usually meant my parents had a reservation somewhere nicer and they’d park us there for dinner with a little pocket money for the Juice Bar afterwards. I’d enjoy a burger in the dimly-lit dining room below street level feeling like I was a member of some secret society. That experience can still be had, but in the aftermath of their devastating fire years ago, they apparently did a bit of meddling that somewhat overshadows my fond childhood memories. This last visit I sat upstairs, in their shockingly pedestrian dining room that appears for all the world to have been designed by someone on loan from Friendly’s. The menu has a few exciting-sounding options beyond the burgers, but I wasn’t exactly rewarded for trying to expand my palate. The ahi tuna sliders were definitely delicious, almost raw with plenty of black sesame and hoisin sauce to complement the tuna’s flavor, but almost impossible to eat in slider form since the tuna was finely chopped and came apart after the first bite, refusing to stay between the bun. The short rib«poutine» substituted potato skins for french fries and skimped on the cheese curds, to detrimental effect all around. I will concede that none of my dining companions seemed as disappointed, so I accept that I may have ordered wrong. If you can get seating downstairs and stick with their hearty burgers on English muffins, my inner child can recommend this place. The lack of ambiance upstairs and the stumbles with the new age fare, however, just hammered home the point that childhood memories are sometimes just that, memories.

We always stop here when on the island. Reasonable prices and great service. This time I got the BBQ burger and sweet potato fries(I recommend them both). One member in my group got the Cali burger and was bummed because he thought he was getting avocado slices and got avocado paste instead. Another member of the group got the fish burrito and enjoyed her choice. All and all a full bunch of pirates left happy!

Sat out on the patio in the back. It was great! Best corned beef Ruben I have had in ages! I would definitely go back again.

Stopped in for a quick drink and some quahog chowder on a Wed evening. Honestly, I was a little disappointed. The setting is very cool and the colonial set up is awesome which is why I give them a four. Unfortunately the quahog chowder was not as good as the ambiance. It was ok but I had higher hopes given the area and the cost($ 10 bowl). Drinks were good and the service was very good. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. Honestly I’d give them a three and a half but it’s not an option. I will return to try the burger.

So I haven’t been here since it burned down and was re done, so I decided to give it a try… I started with the lobster bisque, which was a rich and creamy base with hunks of lobster claws and a thyme biscuit baked on top of the bowl. The biscuit added a small niche to the lobster bisque game and I highly recommend for an APP. My friends had the wings which were incredible, a rich buffalo sauce and more then a two bite wing/drum combo at $ 11 dollars. For an entrée I ordered the Cisco barbecue burger. Cooked to perfection(medium rare) served on a hearty in house baked English muffin. My only complaint was the bacon on the burger was a little under done, if I had to do it again I would ask for crispy bacon! Over all the service was great, we had server Hannah who was awesome. We sat on the back patio and had a great time. A true nantucket dinner where you can find value on the menu which is rare on nantucket…

Fairly mediocre and over-priced for what it is — even for ACK. A modestly-sized beet salad with 5 scallops for $ 24 was«fine» for lunch but not really worth it. Service, even this early in the season, was non-attentive and dismissive. Server had an attitude from the get-go. If things are this lackadaisical on June 30, then I’d hate to see it by Labor Day Weekend. One extra star given for the two lunch hostesses out front who were pleasant, welcoming and give a strong first impression that is not carried through by the food or service inside. The name says it all — so there’s truth in advertising. No need to return.

I’m adding on a star because for the last three years I’ve been going to Nantucket, Brotherhood has become a staple and I’ve never encountered a bad dish. My favorite is always the onion soup and the lobster salad is pretty bomb. Love the beer garden, love the interior, love the food… I just love Brotherhood.

The entire family stopped here for dinner and had a great time in the large outdoor seating area where the kids could be kids and we could enjoy a cool night out in Nantucket. Everyone seemed to enjoy the large portions and had enough leftovers for a lunch the next day. The burgers were large and tasty. My broiled codfish with lobster sauce New England crumbs and side of corn on the cob could not have been better. Nice selection of local beers to wash everything down.

Remember that scene in The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy falls asleep in the poppy field? This is that field, except instead of flowers, it’s the land of curly fries. Split a few apps and a few reasonably cold but unexciting $ 6 pints(at least most were local). The aforementioned BroHo fries($ 6) used to be so curly, they’d strike your face as a sproingily as the snake in the can o’ nuts gag. Those days are gone, oh ye of the reminiscent, and what’s left are more like C spuds. Crisp and hot, though, so their fry-o-later is on point. Same could be said for their $ 16 calamari — tender, well-coated and substantial enough to be a meal. Unfortunately, the overly sweet glaze and drizzled aioli combination is applied so heavily, most of the nuggets get soggified after four seconds of the dip bath. Suggestion to the kitchen: please go lightly like Holly on the sauce for visual and leave the rest in ramekins on the side. Dark, dank dive cozy on the inside, but if it’s sunny out(it is — you’re on Nantucket out), consider the patio seating under separate entrance at the end of the parking lot/driveway/gravel plot to the left of the main door. It’s got its own bar, too. They also play 90s buttrock, and we all know The Offspring feels so good while you process Vitamin D.

Seems a good spot to huddle around the bar with your friends, as thick as thieves. The décor gives the place a feel of being tucked out of the way, brickwork and bar-shelves laid out like some antique medicine cabinet. I was there(for reasons) with some friends and some local acquaintances on an afternoon in the off-season, so the atmosphere was calm and cheerful. Enjoyed the French onion soup and a cocktail. A good time!

Finally dragged myself in for a second go at Brotherhood. I’d been more interested in trying(and retrying) other places on the island so I hadn’t gotten around to returning. Besides, my first visit to this place was less than stellar. I tried the turkey club previously and was not impressed. It was a small club with barely any lunch meat on it. I could’ve done better. Add how expensive it was and the nonexistent service and I was ready to write this place off as a tourist trap with no power behind it. Until today’s visit. I sat at the bar, one of my favorite things to do since I travel alone and can’t always go out with coworkers. Dan, the bartender, was so friendly and speedy. Today’s special was the Cuban on ciabatta with a slice of pork, bacon, melted Swiss, and pickles that includes a side of curly fires. Amazing! They forgot my extra pickle and small side of slaw and Dan noticed it immediately and went to retrieve it. It was $ 16 with tax and I made sure he got a decent tip. Such a different experience from the first time! Good enough that my «meh» initial rating improved by double. I’ll definitely go back just because of the great service Dan provided. The food being better helped so much as well. Much better, Brotherhood.
