My wife and I decided to visit Nantucket just before the heavy season kicked in and found 21 Broad through Lark Hotels, which we have stayed in before and enjoyed. Coming to the island we were celebrating a long needed vacation and also a mini honeymoon. We are recently married and haven’t had a minute of time to get away so this was important. The hotel is just a few blocks from the ferry, also has easy access to taxis and bus stops. In a close walking distance to downtown, lighthouses, beaches, restaurants and bars the location is very accommodating. We were immediately greeted by Shannon and Dan who were very happy to see us and were extremely accommodating as to whatever we needed. The lobby was light, contemporary and inviting, the smell of fresh cookies permeating the air(which were delicious by the way). The room was very neat, clean and beautiful overlooking the harbor, open the windows in the morning and smell the fresh sea air, outstanding! The ENTIRE team was superb at recommending places to visit, eat and have a great time in general. Before our visit I was in personal contact with Korin, the General Manager, who was very kind and happy to have us visit. She was excited that we chose 21 Broad and after our visit I am also. For our mini honeymoon Korin sent us a celebratory bottle of champagne. Wonderful and very thoughtful. Bethany made our day every day! Her charm, constant smile and attentiveness to our every need was second to none. She simply wanted every moment of our stay to be perfect, I had extreme comfort in knowing that if there was any glitch she would be right there on top of it. Bethany went out of her way every day to make sure that our stay was exemplary. She even called a local restaurant and made us dinner reservations at last minute, twice. We never wanted to leave and I actually called the hotel a few minutes ago and thanked Bethany personally… again. She really made our entire experience that much more enjoyable. I thank the entire staff of 21 Broad and wish we were still there. Our experience was outstanding and we cannot wait to see you all again. — – DJ& Shannon

I don’t know why Unilocal is saying this hotel is closed until April, 2016. I am laying in one of their beds right now writing this review. The décor here is different. It’s challenging. It makes you think. It’s not traditional, which can be over bearing and down right dowdy. There’s yellow and blue, mixed with tan and mouse brown and silver… Not much matches, but who says it has to? It’s very… different…clean looking, sparse, unencumbered. The breakfast is the best I have ever seen. Cheese, fruit, oatmeal… yes, oatmeal that is a treat to eat. Coffee from a keurig. Good enough. It’s quiet, impeccably clean and not filled with those horrible scents that other hotels use to cover up odors with. The bath rooms are contemporary, with glass doors on the showers… our room is very bright and sunny. The king sized bed is so soft and warm! I did read the review about how the walls weren’t sound proofed enough… yes…I did hear the guy next door snoring in the middle of the night! The manager is what makes this place five star. He is attentive, smart, kind, friendly, interested in his guests and lastly… very handsome. Well, the handsome part doesn’t matter… much! He told us the story of bringing this landmark back to life. He was so proud to be a part of it… full of passion. The world needs more nice people like him in it. So he gets a five star review, the hotel gets a five star, too, because they hired him to represent their first class place!

We stayed at 21 Broad for two nights beginning October 20. We were greeted by a very friendly and courteous staff. They had upgraded(at no charge) our room from a queen size bed to one with a king-size bed because they had one available. The building is an old Victorian house that has been carefully and tastefully updated with the latest amenities while maintaining the old world feeling of Nantucket. They gave us(loaned/provided) an iPad for our use. The iPad had numerous Apps on it to help us navigate everything that Nantucket has to offer. The room was on the third floor and was beautiful. It overlooked the downtown area. The hotel provided a continental breakfast that was just enough — home-made muffins, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, juices, etc. Great hotel, great accommodations and great staff. We were also fortunate to notice on their webpage that their was a fall special that gave us the second night of our stay at 50% off. Can’t beat that. Thank you 21 Broad!

Excellent place to stay. Super clean and like brand new. The only complaint… walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from other rooms. Literally everything

21 Broad a Lark Hotel was Amazing. Newly renovated and furnished with modern furniture this hotel met all of our needs. It is conveniently located in town close to everything. The AC is fabulous. The gourmet breakfast and cocktail hour are an added bonus. The staff couldn’t be nicer. A+++

This is a fantastic hotel, easily on par with the best hotels I’ve stayed at in the world. The property is located in a great spot(near a bus stop, the juice bar, whaling museum, dune, etc.). The décor is charming and clean, the bathrooms are large, the provide an iPad with bookmarks of things to check out. The breakfast in the morning is quick, delicious and adorable, with great tea and coffee. And the staff, so friendly but not overbearing. They strike a great balance. I’m not sure I have enough good things to say about this hotel. It has to be one of the best on Nantucket, cause it’s definitely one of the best I ever stayed at.

Excellent, excellent. One of the best places I’ve stayed in Nantucket in 30 years and will be back there again. The rooms are wonderful, comfortable, bright and lovely. Vitamin C showers, great towels, water in the room, I phone clocks. The staff is the friendliest on the island. Now they are like old friends. And the breakfast and afternoon snacks are healthy and great. The location is excellent and the outside patio is a great addition.

Beautiful facilities all-around and superior, friendly service from Korin and the staff. It is immediately evident that a great deal of thought, care and effort is invested to ensure top quality in everything ranging from service to décor and ambiance. The location couldn’t be better with short walks to town and harbor or to the lovely residential areas and beaches. Can’t say enough good things about this place and I have pretty high standards so great job Korin! Will definitely be returning here.

My husband and I just spent three days on Nantucket, celebrating our 30th anniversary. We had a totally excellent experience at 21 Broad. We were greeted, upon entering our room, with a handwritten note propped on the bed pillows, congratulating us on our 30 years together, along with a small plate of whale-shaped chocolate truffles. Totally charming, and a very nice beginning to a memorably pleasant stay. Our room, complete with harbor view, was on the 3rd floor, in the newest part of the completely and meticulously restored hotel. The room was beautifully and freshly painted, decorated, and appointed. Wonderfully comfortable king bed, beautiful new bathroom, with plenty of room and all the amenities one should expect(lots of good quality towels, bathrobes, good shampoo, etc.). Maid service was excellent, too. Very quiet, comfortable sleeping – in fact, almost too quiet and comfortable, as we overslept on our last morning and had to hustle to make the ferry! The only complaint, and it’s really minor, is that the bathroom was a little cold(couldn’t see a heating connection anywhere), although the room itself was perfectly comfortable and easily regulated. Also, the hot water took a long time to heat up – but as I said, these are minor quibbles, and maybe they’ll be fixed by next time. It’s a new place, after all, so there will be a few bugs. The price(off season rates are very reasonable) included breakfast, which was modest, but everything obviously selected with care, consisting of fresh, healthy ingredients. Coffee was delicious, and we’re a tough audience on that. They have an evening«nibble hour» between 5 and 7, with homemade cookies and good teas. You can choose to sit outdoors on the deck in the private back courtyard, complete with natural gas fire pit. We sat there very happily, with a drink, deciding on where to have dinner. Even in mid-November, it was pleasant to sit outside and breathe in the sea air. The staff were without exception professional, polite, and very helpful. If you inquire about the ferry when booking, they will book for you at a sizable discount, so remember to do that. We had several different persons at the front desk during our stay, and each one was extremely polite and friendly, happy to discuss things to do on the Island(unfortunately, not much when we were there, as things close down after the busy summer season and before the Christmas stuff). But the delightful young man behind the desk steered us toward a guided bus tour of the island, led by a native, which was a great way to see and learn about the place. Lots of pretty, pleasant touches in the service(such as the personal use of an ipad mini for each guest during their stay) as well as throughout the hotel – the art work in the hallways is especially attractive – small, Matisse-esque silkscreens, very nicely framed. I looked, but couldn’t see an artist’s signature, and forgot to ask. We were very pleased with our stay, and will definitely be back. 21 Broad made our anniversary special, and we thank them for that.
