Quality Inn did not finish their remodel and were not ready to open. They didn’t bother to tell people in the lobby they were not ready and made it sound as if they were just running late on the cleaning. At 5PM they sent me to an inferior sister property, Rodeway Inn, but Rodeway charged me for the room at the same rate even though it was inferior and did not include breakfast. Rodeway said Quality Inn would refund my payment which they did not. Still upset about having to stay at Rodeway since it was not worth $ 50/nt and was not on the ocen side like Quality Inn stated. it was disgusting with dirty grimy floors that turned the towels black when i had to clean them myself. i wasn’t able to walk on the floors or shower in bare feet. the linens had stains on them. the tv did not display correctly and the remote did not work. staff was not very sympathetic at check out and said they would have the manager call me but of course that never happened.

Noisy place. Lots of drunk college kids — mgt can not control. You can hear everything through the walls. _Faulty electricity in the room — lights wouldn’t stay on. Real shame — since the rooms look like they have a recent up grade.

One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. My husband and I decided that our ability to have a longer stay at the beach for our honeymoon trumped our need to stay in a resort. We grew up near the beach and are familiar with the differences in hotels and resorts and it just didn’t matter that much to us. The price jump was an additional $ 70-$ 100 a night anywhere else. We are pretty low maintenance people so this was a perfect fit for us. Did I mention it was clean? Vacuum our room, change the trash, change our towels and all of our bedding EVERYSINGLEDAYCLEAN? We recently stayed at a resort in the Keys in Florida that didn’t even make that kind of effort. You couldn’t even tell it was a pet friendly hotel. It was walking distance to Janette’s Pier, a beautiful beach AND a high end seafood restaurant(Owen’s– some of the best seafood I have ever had). It was the perfect location for us to get to Jockey’s ridge, The Wright Brother’s Memorial, many shops, restaurants and grocery stores. The only complaint– and it’s not so much that as it was an inconvenience– is how TINY the showers are. We will definitely be looking into this place again but next time we will request one of the rooms with a tub!

I had a wonderful stay here over the weekend. It was so clean and I loved the looks of the room the style all of it. I loved that Jeanette’s Pier was right across the street and the beach too. A very nice resturant right next door Sam and Omie’s. I would stay here again!

This is one of the cleanest, nicest motels I’ve ever stayed at. I don’t know about all of the rooms, but ours had clearly been renovated not very long ago and looked nice and updated — nice tile in the bathroom, etc. The motel is right across the street from the beach and Jeanette’s Pier, and even the basic rooms have a fridge and microwave, which was really nice. My only(small) complaint is that the door needed better weatherstripping at the bottom; temperature wasn’t a problem but sand getting in was. The rest of the room was spotless, but the floors ended up getting a little sandy because of the door. The fact that the door isn’t sealed properly also means noises from outside are pretty audible — it wasn’t loud or anything, but if you’re a light sleeper, earplugs wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Rooms are small, but who cares if I will be spending my day outside and only need a bed to sleep and a place to shower. The floors had some sort of cleaning thing that it was constantly shiny and wet, that we had to use towels on the floor to cover it. The place has excellent location being across the street form the beach and around the corner to one of the best seafood places around. Kind of noisy when people are walking outside to their rooms late at night, also there was a dog barking almost all night in one of the rooms upstairs and no one said anything to that. Rooms are nonsmoking so people were smoking outside their rooms and we could smell it while the doors were closed as the smell came from under the door. The place has a convenient store across the street that has almost everything in it you need. There was the sound of water running 247 from either the toilet seat or a pipe from the upstairs rooms, couldn’t tell. The front desk lady was very nice and helpful. The staff were very nice too, I had forgot my very valuable gold necklace on the night table and when we came back we saw the bed has been made and had new towels and stuff and my item was still int he same spot I left it, it made me feel safe knowing the staff were trustworthy.

Small, clean rooms across the street from Jeanette’s Pier. Very friendly & helpful staff. Recently renovated and nice!

The roadway inn is a great value for the price! We had a great experience with the owner and staff. We were greeted with smiles and attentiveness. This property is directly across the street from Jeannette’s pier and beautiful, clean family beaches. I found most other properties in the area to be of equivalent quality but twice the price. The motel is pet friendly also! Room 212 has a beautiful view. I will stay here again next year.

Honestly Rodeway Inn is nicer than some other motels in the area, but it’s still not good. The room smelled overwhelmingly like bleach, which we spun to be a positive thing because the room was at least clean. However, it was not so great when I brought my clothes into the bathroom to take a shower and ALL of my clothes got irreparable streaks of bleach all over them! The remote for the TV didn’t work. Breakfast was disappointing, but at least it’s free. So overall, not a great experience. Still two stars though because the next night motel stay at a different establishment was even worse.

Avoid this motel. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Josh, a lazy, disinterested, distracted excuse for a desk clerk. He has the professional demeanor of a dead jellyfish. We had a minor issue with our room and he acted like he couldn’t be bothered to help us. He said he would ‘get to it’ as soon as he finished the 500 other things he had to take care of behind the counter. While waiting for him to acknowledge me I overheard him negotiating a much more favorable room rate with a good olé boy from Ahoskie – seems they were cut from the same cloth so his rate dropped by about $ 60 in a matter of seconds. After we moved to a different room we spotted him mixing it up with the guests in cottage 2. Is Josh a relative? We felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. We also wondered if our car would be safe in the parking lot. Avoid this motel.
