Never again will I eat here, me and my family was out about cruising craving for some sea food decided to pull into Bennetts Calabash, we was hungry, so a buffet didn’t sound bad at all, it started out nice with the host. Only after being seated our waiter brought us a basket of hush puppies with some awesome honey butter and ask us, have we ever eaten here before and we apply no. So she went on to tell us the price of the all you can eat buffet was about $ 30 dollars per adult, I was a little shock, thought to my self that’s a little over priced, but I didn’t worry about it because I was wanting to treat my family out to dinner and our final bill came out to be $ 82.50 for 2 adults and one child that was ten years old. But I got to tell you the buffet was terrible, we expected more after being charged that much, most of the food seem to be at room temperature, the prime rib was extremely salty, all the food seem to have been on the bar for a while, didn’t look freshly cooked, crab legs had a odd taste, I couldn’t really finish any of my plates with out wanting to get up to get something else to eat from the bar in wishful thinking hoping that my next plate would be better then the last. We was seated next to a table of 10 or more that was very loud annoying, laughing the whole time, we couldn’t talk to our selfs because of that table over powering our table, we just had to be seated right next to them with all the tables that was available away from them, they finally left, but by now I’m feeling disgusted, so I decided I needed to make a trip to the boys room after washing my hands I come out they was already breaking the bars down, we didn’t even get to eat dessert because we didn’t feel like watching them close, they couldn’t wait tell we was gone before doing that. It felt like we was being rush, was not worth $ 82.50 — I really want my money back! –like I said«Never Again»

All-you-can eat seafood buffet. Came for the crab legs and wasn’t disappointed! They were delicious! Also really enjoyed the bang-bang shrimp and clam strips. Tried some of their steak and it was a little over salted and enjoyed sampling some of their desserts. They have a variety of other seafood(fish, crayfish, mussels), side dishes, and a salad bar but I was enjoying the crab legs too much to try much of anything else. Service was great – always had fresh plates and she cleared away the dirty ones promptly and my glass was never empty.

So if you want a complete honest review read on, Took me forever to decide which of these calabash places to go to since literally on every corner theres about 4. Read some Unilocal reviews and was gonna go to Hooks but decided on Bennets, and the big crab wasnt open yet, so thats how I got here. Walked in and wasnt too excited because the buffet looks so small i was worried i wouldnt enjoy it but i was with my family and we were already here so i decided what the heck. Always say you saw the coupon for 5 $ off! They wont even ask to see it and youll get the discount! Sat down, got a mound of plates and off to the buffet i went. I came for one thing only… Crab legs and i was not disappointed! They were always refilled and never empty, warm and juicy! And these werent those tiny ones either they were full of meat! And honestly i ate so much of them that i didnt have much else. The hush puppies were THEBOMB! Only tried them because another Unilocaler said they were good and oh lord they were! Steak was eh, mussels were okay, and the pasta was highly over cooked. But WHOCARES. I came for the all you can eat crab and it was so good !!! They had craw fish which was tasty as well! And the standard shrimp in about 6 varieties, overall good. Id definitely come again. Came out to 107 for 4 people, but i left satisfied that i ate more than my fair share of crabs! Not bad, as i assume all these calabash places are more or less the same bennets would be a safe bet! Service was good, always had a stack of clean plates and a refill on my sweet tea!

Went there on vacation with my friends and we all loved it. I’m sure we over stayed our welcome but there was too much food not to try almost everything. Crab legs were always available when I went up for more. I was even to make my own seafood pasta which I thought was pretty cool. I don’t remember our waitresses name but she always had plates, refills, and napkins on our table when we needed them. We will be going back on our next beach trip.

Ate here on Mother’s Day, had a very welcoming vibe. Wide selection of food that was delicious, just what we were looking for. Will definitely be back.

Really good seafood at a reasonable price. The staff was extra friendly and attentive. Me and a few buddies ate here during bike week and it was one if not the best food I had in Myrtle. Being from Boston I love seafood and this restaurant didn’t disappoint. Although out seafood is the best anywhere this restaurant was really cool

Amazing! Worth the money! We couldn’t believe how reasonable the buffet was(27.19/adult 4.99/child under 5) and delicious. Great variety of both seafood and country cooking(try the BBQ meatballs and sausage). It was even agreeable with our picky three year old. We couldn’t believe how rude some of the patrons were to the employees(specifically the really sweet hostesses and servers) but were impressed how calm, cool and professional the staff handled each situation! Can’t wait to go back. Yum yum yum.

This place blows. The only thing that was good was the hush puppies. Wasted money. Don’t come here

supposedly under new management, this is No 2 location. Pricey $ 27, but good pickings. Crab legs, shrimp, fish, crawfish, prime rib, steak, lots of space and overall clean. Good to come here hungry!

Service was excellent, some items on the buffet were awesome like the crab legs and chicken tenders. The steak and the fried shrimp were cold from the bar.

Crab legs and hush puppies were good. I’ve had better buffet experiences at myrtle. Server was excellent and overall fairly satisfied. Some things not fabulous but other items were great!

It’s an all you can eat buffet in Myrtle Beach. They’re pretty much all the same. Our waitress was on top of filling drinks, bringing clean plates, and supplying us with napkins. She also handled our baby throwing food and what not everywhere all in stride. At most buffets, everyone stalks the crab legs. They kept them full here. Granted, we were here at a time between lunch and dinner. Not sure what it’s like during peak times. There’s a pretty wide selection on the buffet. I was focused on crab legs, shrimp, and mashed potatoes. Sometimes you just need some MP and gravy. The price was comparable to what I pay in Charlotte for just an all you can eat crab leg night. There are apparently coupons out there somewhere, so do your research. We actually wanted to go the giant crab place first. They weren’t open yet, so we ended up here. It was an okay back up.

This was our first stop as we came into the Myrtle Beach area. Hungry and thirsty, we were thrilled to meet up with Tammi’s daughter and baby granddaughter. However, this place left much to be desired. The décor looked a bit worn and dated and the food was not much better. Most of the dishes were bland or not delicious. We have been to much better seafood buffets in other locales. This experience was below average — not recommended — you can do better.

Would give it 2 ½ — 3 stars. A lot of the food was fried beyond recognition, but I feel like that is the case with many of these places. We basically went for the crab legs, and we certainly got our moneys worth. There doesnt seem to be as many items on the buffet as some of the other spots. The inside of the restaurant is fairly rundown, but it was clean. The service was great, our waitress was really on top of providing refills and fresh plates. We ended up going here because it opened earlier then all the other spots.

While vacationing at Sunset Beach(September 2014), my family decided to visit the Myrtle Beach area to try out a buffet. We had had much luck when we tried the Giant Crab buffet nearby and hoped that we would receive the same level of quality and service. We were sadly mistaken. We were seated and gave our drink order to Miles, our server. Miles was also to bring us silverware, the device to crack open crab legs and butter to be used for various buffet items. I found it puzzling as to why you could not just go up and get your own butter from the buffet. We visited the buffet and figured that by the time that we returned, that we would have our missing items. If you have never been through a huge buffet with a four-year old, be advised that he had more than enough time to get us these things while we meandered around the large dining room. My husband came back to the table with crab legs and was trying to crack them open without the use of the«crab cracker.» It was pretty amusing, to say the least. I had gotten a steak, but was unable to eat it without a knife and fork. I guess I could have just eaten it like a caveman, but there were other people nearby. After about 10 – 15 minutes, we had to ask for a manager, as our waiter was MIA and we still didn’t have butter/silverware. The manager spoke to us in such a way that indicated that he was not at all interested in resolving the issue. He seemed kind of annoyed that he was talking to us in the first place. He then informed us that Miles had walked off the job and would not be returning to our table. He assigned another waitress to our table and she did her best for the duration of our visit. On to the food ~ it was just awful. My steak had gotten cold by the time we received our silverware, so I went to the buffet to get another one. It was flavorless and dry. I had also gotten a baked potato. I don’t know how it is possible to screw that up, but it was a rubbery mess. A lot of the items on the buffet were deep fried and just didn’t taste good, at all. For $ 30 a person for this buffet, I expected much more. I will not return to this establishment.

Is there really much difference between all the«Calabash» places along the Grand Strand? I don’t think so. We’ve been to a number of them over the years, trying one after the other, figuring out the fine print on the various coupons in the books you can get at your hotel, and invariably, they are all about the same(though the one with the huge crab does make for a nice photo, and is in fact just about next door). I will say that this one caused us a bit of grief, because the different Bennett’s locations have different hours, and we parked outside one up in North Myrtle for a bit after a round of mini-golf, only to find out they weren’t opening for a while. Since our parents had decided they wanted Bennett’s — apparently due to a coupon or something — we then had to find another one that was open, and we found this location that had a nice spot, and got there early enough that there was no line. You can even(sorta) see the water from the parking lot. Service was good, though let’s be fair here — you are doing most of the work yourself. Selection is actually decent, which is a good thing for one of these places — some are nearly indistinguishable clumps of fried stuff, where here you can actually tell what you’re getting. Unfortunately it isn’t much beyond that, but at least it’s reasonable.

Can we give negative stars? Quality was that bad. Food was cold, undercooked, overcooked, etc. Very high priced. Definitely not worth it. Service no better. Complained and nothing. Waste of money

Meh. I expect some level of quality when I pay $ 30 on a weekday for a buffet. This place had zero quality. Everything on the bar was a deep fried mess. The calamari was chunked together and some pieces were simply deep-fried flour and no squid. It was very similar to things you would see on Chef Ramsay’s Kitchen nightmares. There was a wide variety of seafood, but there was way too much tilapia. I’m not interested in a bottom feeding fish. They probably had three to four different tilapia items and only two to three other fish items. The crab cakes were deep fried and not like you would get at a good restaurant. The jambalaya looked old. The buffalo shrimp was good but cold and the crab claws weren’t cracked. You had to ask for hot butter and extra plates. You are really better off going somewhere else for seafood, even a Red Lobster. Hell, hotels in Atlanta and Las Vegas have served me better seafood so proximity means nothing. Don’t give these folks your money.
