A colleague of mine had told me about this place as a great place to hang out, have some coffee and listen to some great music. Since my first visit, I’ve been hooked on the coffee, the ambiance and great service. I’ve made this my first stop every week for the last few months and find it a great way to start out my week.

Nice place to relax with a cup of coffee, muffin, and a book. I’ve been here a couple of times and have always had a pleasant surprise experience. I also like that their coffee is sourced locally and they carry Holcomb Hollow products.

Musty smelling. Heard a lot of hype about the coffee, I didn’t find it any better than Starbucks where I can drive thru easily. Super cool local items though kind of expensive. Maybe some dehumidifiers might remove the smell?

Awesome staff, great environment, delicious Hansa coffee, hilarious bathroom, tasty treats, and a plethora of goodies and local business offerings to choose from.
I would give 5 stars were the wifi free (Paid beyond the first hour), which seems really odd in this day and age.

Mundelein really needs a good coffee house. I guess I was hoping this was it but it’s not a coffee shop and maybe it is meant to be more of a general store? I was very disappointed. I walked in and the man behind the counter ignored me while speaking with the customer who he was having a conversation with. Shouldn’t you greet your customers as soon as they walk in and explain what you have to offer when the options aren’t really very clear? He said his espresso machine was on back order. A coffee place without an espresso machine (oh, that’s right it’s not a coffee house). Bakery goods? Didn’t see any, I wish those were on display too. Just very disappointing when we really need a good coffee house here in Mundelein.

I bought a pound of HANSA coffee.
They have a few non-​coffee items for sale (original art, salsa, gluten-​free snacks). Go check it out and support Mundelein businesses!

Not a bad little shop to stop in and relax for a bit on a Sunday.
I loved the vinyl and the Gluten Free offerings but I am confused on the name. «general store» had me thinking milk and bread would be lined up on some shelves.
You can see that they are Still settling in but they are currently making a great cold brew coffee. A second oddity though was the lack of an espresso machine to give a wider range of preparation options of the coffee.
I think it may be a case where the cold brew, pour over and other coffee offerings are there to let you sample the in-​house coffee stock before purchasing. I like that as a concept and it should continue.
So in general a good visit, an intriguing name, a fun unique concept, and friendly faces. Keep up the good work!
