I’ve has this place bookmarked for a while, I needed to go to AAA during lunch so I figured«why not??» The restaurant is small, clean, and bright and the staff is friendly as well. I got the pulled pork sand which that a lot of reviews have raved about and all I can say is «meh». It wasn’t a bad sandwhich but I was far from impressed. Maybe the reviews were just overhyped. If I was in the area driving by and looking for food, I would definitely come back but would not go out of my way for it.

Tony’s Kitchen is fantastic. The pulled pork, ribs, and gelato are wonderful. The problem is that as a new restaurant this place needs a serious image/inner décor make-over. I really want the place to be successful. His recipe for pulled pork is one of the best I have ever tasted. But, if you didn’t already know that, or read a Unilocal review, there’s very little chance you would go inside to order food. But, excellent food, excellent prices, good open-late hours, and great customer service.

Okay Tony, I stopped here last night… I am fan of your gelato! I’ve had them more than 20 times. However…, last time when I stopped by I trid to get hot drink(tea or coffee) that used to be here when it was owned by Iranian previous owner. He said he would start hot drink in a week. That was more than a month ago. And I found out no hot drink last night.

New café type casual dining restaurant. The owner Tony, is really nice and kind, especially with his gelato portions. Drop by for great deals and great quality food and dessert! This is my go to place for dessert and quick snacks, with hard to match prices. 3 minute drive from downtown mountain view, and it beats all the gelato places within downtown. Free wifi and delivery offered as well!

Nice little lunch spot, a bit expensive for the Fried Fish Sandwich I got. In the picture, it’s a big piece of fish, and I was hoping for that much protein at $ 11. Came out much flatter; thickness of fish was the same as the thickness of the breeding on the sandwich. It was filling mainly because of the amount of bread.

I love this place! The first time I went was just because it was next to the hotel I was staying but now it’s a new favourite. My first meal was a pork roast sandwich, then I discovered the ultimate burger, which really is the ultimate burger. SOGOOD. Hash browns on burgers? Perfect idea. Very good ice cream as well. And the service is really good. The owner is super friendly. Highly recommended!

«Wait: there’s a sandwich and gelato place open ’til 11pm? In Mountain View? Where I don’t have to fight the downtown crowds for parking?» Indeed there is! Tony’s Kitchen is a lovely little shop right along El Camino, independently owned and operated, perfect for grabbing a quick bite at. The Ultimate Burger said it had a hash brown involved; I naively assumed this would be some sort of wispy crisped potato confection engineered to cleanse the palate or something. But no: it’s an honest-to-gosh legitimate hearty hash brown, folded into your burger and obviating the need for anything like«fries». It made for quite the hearty dining experience! It was pretty bad-ass. I also tried the fried fish sandwich, which was excellent: the fish was light, but substantive, and the spread on the sandwich complemented it very well. I also nabbed a roast beef sandwich, suitable for nibbling on the next morning. It was quite the solid undertaking as well — quite hearty, and unquestionably worth the buck or two more than you might shell out for something similar at a Togo’s or a Subway, that’s for certain. It made for one blockbuster breakfast. And it’s worth mentioning: the service was lights-out fantastic. Tony’s wife was in the dining area when I popped by, and we traded stories about our respective Thanksgiving holidays and other things of that ilk. I’m currently ambling about in a walker while my lower back is on the mend; they offered to walk out to my car with my order so I wouldn’t have to wrangle with it myself. It was totally a cut above the service I’m used to pretty much anywhere, and that personal touch was absolutely endearing. I have no idea if Tony’s will manage to survive and thrive, but their fare and service are both marvelous. I wish nothing but the best for them, and look forward to swinging by for a sandwich on a regular basis to maybe help cement them as a local institution for decades to come.

Read all the awesome reviews out here and decided to try it out. The fried chicken sandwich was bland. The wild fries were not packed well so all the nacho dip was all over the fries making it uneven.

Yummy sandwiches… comfort food with a touch of elegance and lots of flavor. This is a new place in Mountain View and I’m a sucker for new places. It’s right on the main El Camino street, with a big sign that says«Grand Opening», you can’t miss it. Overall, super relaxed atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Even Tony himself(the chef) came out to say hi. Cool story actually… the guy is your typical Silicon Valley Asian immigrant technologists who decided to quit his behind-the-computer job to try what he always wanted to do… make people happy by cooking yummy foods for them. My favorite is the BBQ pulled pork sandwich… and on Fridays, it’s only $ 5 for lunch. They also have $ 1 gelato scoop special on Wednesdays… awesome! Recommended for team outings on Fridays… but any day of the week works. Owners are eager to please and make sure everyone has a great experience. Go support your local entrepreneurs!

I love it when I can say that I have discovered a new awesome place to eat! A friend suggested Tony’s Kitchen for a midweek lunch. Before going, all I knew was that they serve gelato and are open late(they close at 11 pm everyday), which would make it a good place to drop by for something sweet in the evenings. When we arrived, the owner was very helpful and told us that we can go on their website to print out a coupon for BOGO sandwiches in the future. That is such a good deal, and I will definitely be using that in the future! They also had a combo special written on the board as well as their weekday specials: $ 1 gelato on Wednesdays $ 5 pulled project sandwich on Fridays I ordered the Fried Fish Fillet sandwich and my friend had the Ultimate Burger. After seeing a photo of the Wild Fries on Unilocal,we also got an order of that to share. We used the Unilocal check-in discount of 10% off an order over $ 10. I liked my sandwich — it was tasty! My friend’s burger had a hashbrown in it, which was unique, and he liked it as well. The pulled pork on the fries was delicious! I think it’s totally worth it to get the sandwich there on Fridays! Even though we were so full from the fries, since it was a Wednesday, we could not resist the $ 1 gelato. I picked the saffron gelato, which is made with rose water and had pistachio pieces in it. My friend had half pumpkin(seasonal flavor) and half cookies and cream. The combination of the 2 flavors worked surprisingly well! I will definitely be back in the future. They are located on El Camino Real very close to Castro St so it is convenient if you are already at Downtown Mountain View to come by for a gelato dessert. The store does not have much in terms of décor but it is very clean and neat. They have their own parking lot too so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot like you do on Castro St. More importantly, the food was good so it gives me confidence in the rest of their menu. In future visits, I want to try their Grilled Chicken sandwich, Pastrami sandwich, and Mushroom burger!

Nothing’s changed since when this place was Gelayo Gusto. Same phenomenal gelato, same generous portions, same unbeatable prices, same customer loyalty program. Okay, maybe one thing’s changed: they have more flavors in stock than ever before. They actually *had* cookies and crème when I went… As well as pumpkin! Both were phenomenal.

I got delivery via GrubHub. I live in 94041 and they’ve gotten here in 30 – 40 minutes each of the five times I’ve tried them. Food is 4 stars. The GELATO’s 4 stars. The PULLEDPORK sandwich is 4 stars.(I might ask for extra sauce next time.) Turkey sandwich & roast beef sandwich 3.5 stars, but maybe it was my choice of bread. The BLT is piles of bacon, piping hot, testing the structural integrity of the bread, sinful, and 5 stars. The FISHANDCHIPS far exceeded my expectations; I’m trying it again tonight. I don’t like tartar sauce, but I like Tony’s. The chips were soggy after 30 minutes of delivery, but good, simple and good. Treat yo self.

Blech! They need to remove this from Unilocal’s ‘Barbecue’ category. Perhaps they make good sandwiches and gelato(delivered gelato sounds awesome), but this ain’t a barbecue place. Not even close. This is listed as a Barbecue place, so I am reviewing it as a barbecue place. Absolutely disgusting. I had the Rib Plate. First thing I noticed right away that I thought was extremely strange, was that they gave me a sandwich loaf of bread with my ribs. Nothing in the loaf, just gave me this straight up bread. It was pretty good bread, but didn’t really belong in the meal and just looked out of place. The ribs… oh the ribs… Some words to describe ‘em: –Disgusting –Nasty –Par-boiled –Mush I seriously took one bite of these things, then spit it out and threw it all away. Well, if I ignored the food quality, the place is new so it was all very clean, and even though I don’t live close enough, I like that they offer delivery(even though I would never EVER order their barbecue again even I lived nearby). ______________ Conclusion: I’m sure if I lived near it, I would order gelato delivery all the time, assuming it is good. But I came because Unilocal listed it as a Barbecue place, and as a barbecue place, it is absolutely awful. Terrible. Repulsive. Gross. Well, I’m sure you get the idea. I don’t think I’ve ever written such a bad review before, but it was actually kinda fun thinking of ways to describe how I felt about this place.

Jesus Christ! This place is amazing! This is the one edible delivery option near my apartment that isn’t pizza(I’m so tired of pizza…). I always get their wild fries, which is fries with nacho chesse and the most amazing sweet pulled pork. They always delivery really hot food and it’s always godly. Their ribs fall off the bone and their sauce is perfect is the exact amount of kick to really bring out the flavor. I also get their gelato and these people are sort of like the Messiah of good food. They’re always SUPERDUPERQUICK too! I don’t know if they adhere to a specific kind of food, but everything they attempt seems to turn out marvelous! A million stars for this place! I love you guys!

3 words. Pulled Pork Sandwich. Another word. AMAZING. I even took my super picky fiancé here and he gobbled up their pulled pork sandwich in a total of 4 bites. I will definitely be going back to try out other items on their menu.

I hate to do this but I do have to share my honest opinion of the food. Now the owner is super nice and I wish him luck in his retirement pursuits with his own little sandwich shop. Got the corned beef, some wings and a coke for a late lunch. Meat is good quality and so is bread. Now they have some black sesame mayo concoction which is tasty but it was over done. After the sandwich was pressed it was crisp but greasy. now Im someone who loves fatty things but I couldnt take anymore and had to take a piece of the sandwich home. The wings were overcooked and not seasoned. The sauce that it comes with is something tangy but not enough to overcome the dry/unseasoned nature of the wings. At the end of the day for $ 18, im expecting a bite more. I hope this goes across as I wish the owner well, and Im all for coming back when the execution gets better.

Came to Tony’s Kitchen on a casual Tuesday night– was very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is small and intimate but has a very friendly atmosphere; the owner and staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. I had the fish filet sandwich and my brother ordered the fish and chips. Both were delicious and the portioning was very generous! Finished the meal with some awesome gelato. All in all a great first experience here at Tony’s! I’ll definitely be back.
