I went to La Bamba a few weeks ago on a Sunday for lunch. It was a little busy in the restaurant but my sister and I got our burritos in a timely manner. My burrito was delicious. It was a super burrito with chile verde. I appreciated how the burrito was stuffed and folded well. The meat was delicious and the green salsa that we got on the side was good too. I enjoyed getting takeout from La Bamba and I would definitely come again.

Customer service has gone down. They don’t say thank you to Asians, Whites, Etc. They just say thank you to Mexicans.

The tacos are nothing special and overpriced, but the PUPUSAS are incredible. So delicious and greasy. The pork and cheese ones are the best, and I only wish they had better tasting salsas to truly make the pupusas the greatest things ever.

Good prices. Burritos are about $ 10 and the other plates are about $ 15. They take credit cards. Portions are good. Overall, it didn’t have a ton of flavor, but it is filling. It doesn’t take long to get the food. They seem to take care of the place ok. Nice patio area. Plenty of parking available. It wasn’t to loud inside. Lots of tables and places to sit.

I live a couple blocks away and love Mexican food, we tried this place a couple years ago and it just was just not that good but last night I decided to give them a second chance and I was craving some good nachos. I made my order and after I saw the cook take the chips put cheese on them then promptly shove them in a microwave, I am sure you all know what happens to nice crispy chips when you nuke them, yes they are very soggy and the flavor was not good at all. Really was hoping it would be better since they are so close, maybe in two more years I will try them again, or not. Can not believe they would use a microwave on Nachos.

They have good food and a jump house for the kids. Their caritas are crunchy yet juicy and its so far the best carnitas I ever tried! I would definitely order here again.

Really liked this place! Though It’s not halal, there are many veggie & seafood options. Super burrito(shrimp) with spinach tortilla was great!

Oh the good olé days — how I remember La Bamba! Though I have moved away, La Bamba is forever in my dreams. I may have to make a special trip down to the Peninsula just to visit. Miss you, La Bamba!

We were doing laundry next door and feeling hungry, so we stopped by to check out this taqueria. I used to go to their old store(rengstorff & old Middlefield) but this was my first time in this location. The restaurant is very spacious, lots of tables and seating both indoor and outdoor. The menu is very extensive from the usual tacos, burito to pupusas and some el Salvadoran food. Prices were a bit on the high side, imo… i remember it was a lot cheaper when they used to be at the other location but perhaps the rent is higher here and the restaurant is nicer(the old location was more a hole in the wall like). I ordered a shrimp taco 4.28, el pastor and tongue regular taco it’s 3.28 each. Hubby got the 3 enchiladas plate with cheese, grilled chicken and steak filling, came with rice and beans 13.79 Total was a bit over 27 bucks for our meal without drinks… Food came out within 10 minutes, they gave us a number, we found a table and they delivered the food once they are ready. The tacos… certainly worth 3+ bucks each as the meat was abundant! Certainly could make 2 – 3 tacos with the amount of meat they gave. The shrimp super taco however was a bit on the skimpy side. only 4 pieces of small-medoum size shrimp. the rest were just lettuce, Pico de Gallo and grilled green bell pepper. …a bit steep for the price tag $ 4+ as at Sancho’s, the other taqueria about 2 miles away usually give plenty(maybe 6 – 8 pieces of shrimp) for the same price and the shrimp that sancho’s uses are more plump. Flavors are yummy and well seasoned… and I did try hubby’s enchiladas and I thought it was delicious too. the grilled chicken, especially, was very flavorful. I even loved the flavor of the rice and beans. Not a bad place for a quick bite… the thingis. none of their salsa is spicy. I’m a bit bummed by this.

Burritos are great but I’ve used order ahead three times in a row and they forget to put guac on it three different times on all of my burritos. It’s pretty annoying to pay for it three times in a row on three different items.

The food here was fine, and appropriately priced. Although, the atmosphere is a bit lacking. I had the super burrito with steak, and it made glorious leftovers the next day. Overall, I don’t think I’d ever have any real motivation to go back, even though the location and parking is quite convenient for me.

Great burritos, either to dine in or take out. Not the most convenient location for my, but my favorite Mountain View burrito. If I gave more weight to ambiance, I would probably only give it four stars for being kind of cafeteria like, but the food trumps that. Twenty-five years ago I would have given them three stars, but now they are 5-Star food all the way. Tried many items, and all good.

The food is pretty good, this place is a lot more authentic than some of the other«Mexican» restaurants. I usually get the carne asada plate or a carne asada burrito as well as a natural drink. In my past visits, it sometimes takes a while for you to get your food and they usually forget about my drink, I end up having to remind them about it. They have a bounce house outside with outdoor seating. Great way to entertain the kids while you wait for your meal. Inside, there are lots of seats and a TV. I have used grub-hub to order ahead a couple of times. I have also dined in and gotten take-out. They recently got a new menu, they added a few items such as the California burrito. However, they have also raised their prices. For example, now 1 taco will cost you over $ 3.00 and a super burrito is $ 15

This place has been around forever and to me sticks out in the crowded field of Mexican restaurants. The dish that I love to return for is their Veggie Burrito. It may not be the healthiest veggie burrito that I have ever had(with lots of cheese and sour cream, and fewer veggies than I would like), but it definitely has one of the richest flavors which keeps me returning when I am in the neighborhood. It is the bamb-a!

Taqueria La Bamba is a solid 4 stars. I recently did their online ordering, which I highly recommend. I’ve been to La Bamba many times over the years. Tried the carnitas for the first time recently, it’s really good. The carne asada is 4⁄5. Haven’t tried much else. I’d say go for the carnitas or, if you’re not a fan of pork, there are a few more authentic places nearby. Ordering can take a while in store, but doing it online ended up melting all the cheese together into a batch of deliciousness. So, try doing that.

I used to be a big fan of La Bamba before I went off to college, which was two and a half years ago. I would go to the Old Middlefield location before they had to sell it to build apartments(yay gentrification). So I since I was home for break I decided to go with my family to the new location. Let’s just say we were expecting the old La Bamba. 1. The cashier was full of sass and impatient. She would roll her eyes while looking down thinking that we wouldn’t see. 2. The food is way too expensive from what we remembered and it lacked flavor. The chips were greasy and I had to take four bites into my burrito before I could get to the cheese. Also, the chicken was plain. 3. The set up of the place is colorful but there’s this one corner where they have a bunch of kitchen utilities. It’s just a bit distracting and doesn’t go well. Like I said, I was expecting the old La Bamba.

I’ve had food all over the Bay Area and this is by far the best Mexican/El Salvadorian food I’ve had! I grew up going to their original location and the new place is just as good. I always get the chicken quesadilla and it never ceases to blow my mind with flavor and texture. I like it so much I’ve never tried anything else on the menu besides pupusas. The pupusas are super good too. Seriously though, try the chicken quesadilla. You won’t be disappointed.

I used to go to the Old Middlefield road location all the time, especially when I lived and worked in the area. It’s not an exaggeration to say that I used to go at least once a week, sometimes even twice! Although I moved to SF years ago, I still miss La Bamba and I try to stop by whenever I’m in the area. The new location is much much larger and cleaner, but I still think the old location with the standing room only counters was better. La Bamba still makes the best lengua tacos anywhere. The lengua is tender and juicy, and very rich and flavorful. Their pork tamales are the best anywhere. The tamales tend to be a bit more moist than at other taquerias because they wrap them in banana leaves, which hold in the moisture better than the corn husks that are commonly used at other Taquerias. 5 stars for the old location(R.I.P), but this one is still pretty good.

I was craving La Bamba and was surprised to learn they had moved. I’m probably late to the party. The location is huge with a lot of seating and the carnitas burrito was just as I had remembered, crispy and juicy and HUGE!
