Fantastic customer service, fun and colorful restaurant interior, and you get good«bang for the buck» here. During this visit, I ordered a Beef Kebab Platter($ 19) to-go. The platter included tender chunks of beef(marinated in garlic, cumin, and paprika), Himalayan rice, mixed vegetables, and a lentil salad. The beef was cooked to perfection, and I loved the spices that were infused into the meat. The Himalayan rice was okay; it had good flavor, but I’ve had better. The mixed vegetables were seasoned, and they were well-prepared, but I wouldn’t have missed them if they weren’t included in the meal. The worst part of the meal was the lentil salad; the lentils needed to be soaked/cooked a little longer, and while the cumin balsamic vinaigrette was a nice touch, I threw most of the lentil salad away. Even though this specific visit was just a 3-star experience, I’m definitely going to visit Morocco’s Restaurant in the future, as I want to check out the various themes they have running throughout the week: magic night, jazz night, belly dancing night, etc.

Pros: friendly staff. some dishes are better than others. Enjoyed spicy cucumber salad very much. Beef kabob had spicy kick to it(dip). Cons: more space should be available for the belly dancer. Chicken tagine tasted bland.

Mediocre food for the price. When in a group of more than 10, they charge $ 35 per person, even for a 8 yr old kid. Same price for a kid … never seen that before !!!

Not worth for the price. Service is also poor. We ordered Lamb Tagine, but we got Chicken Tagine. Not a good response when we tried to explain them about wrong order.

Update: Good response by owner, adding two more stars. Decent food, but the take-out box leaked all over the place, plus they charge you $ 2.50 for a desert which is worth about ¼ of a bite. It’s laughably small; you have to buy about 10 of them to feel like you ate anything at all! Never again.

Here’s one time when I wish my wife hadn’t gotten a Groupon coupon, despite the food being excellent. Why? Read on. The wife had gotten a $ 20 Groupon coupon for $ 12 for take out only at the Morocco restaurant on Castro near the corner of El Camino Real. I called up at 4:05pm the day after New Years and ordered a $ 20 lamb tagine(stew) and $ 22 beef tagine dishes take out, and the server is friendly and clear, and told me to come in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later I’m at the counter, place is empty, credit card out, and the food comes out piping hot in two take out boxes. Good service, great atmosphere, friendly helpful employees, with white cloth tables, clean colorful carpet, and view of downtown Mountain View through the large windows. At home, I cook brown rice and broccoli, and reheat the lamb and beef dishes. Some reviews have mentioned the portions being too small. Well here’s one thing we can’t do in the restaurant but can do with take out: I weigh the meats, without the sauces, bones, and vegetables. 6 ounces of lamb, and 14 ounces of beef. The lamb comes with a yellow curry sauce, potatoes, onions, and carrots, and is delicious –so tender it falls off the bone. The tender, shredded beef comes with apricots and nuts in a very sweet sauce. My wife’s favorite! BTW the wife doesn’t like couscous, which is the standard addition with the meat dishes. The wife and I together eat half of each dish, with the other half being dinner two days from now. So the portion sizes are more than ample, even for $ 20+ apiece. I would have forgone the $ 8 in Groupon savings to ogle those dancing ladies at the Morocco, starting at 730pm. But my wife wears the pants in the house, unlike those scantily clad belly dancers! And Trump, I would definitely make an exception for any scantily clad Muslim belly dancers trying to enter the country –after all they have no place to hide any weapons. This would be the place for a first date or a romantic date, or a date to impress, and definitely not the place for a breakup date –too expensive!

I love this restaurant especially during the holidays. The staff is so polite and the atomsphere was stunning. I ordered my favorite dish — the beef tagine! Perfect. The entertainment was fun — the belly dancer came over to our table and taught a few of us to jiggle to the music! Thank you Morocco’s Restaurant for a delightful evening.

I’ve been going to Morocco’s for several years now and can’t say enough positive things about them. I’ve hosted corporate events here as well as made reservations on busy holidays like new years eve, taken clients to lunch, or just dropped in on a thursday night out. This team and the brothers that own and run the restaurant are fantastic. The food is amazing, I have yet to order anything I didn’t like– total flavor explosion. I have never left feeling hungry. I have never had a single mediocre experience at Morocco’s. The service is always impeccable, at least one of the owners are always present on the floor ensuring your experience, service, and food is exceeding expectations. Do yourself a favor, and try them out if you haven’t. You’ll be back!

Just tried it for the first time via door dash last night. So, I cannot rate the ambiance or service but I can rate the food. And it was thoroughly disappointing. Overall, it felt like someone had just smothered all the dishes with the same mediocre sauce full of generic curry powder. Some lowlights: 1) Mixed veg. contained 50% or more potatoes and chicpeas. I know these thing are cheap, but they are NOT veggies — and also when you charge 7 bucks for a side you should make sure its all veggies. 2) Chicken in the tagine was dry and had no taste. The sauce it was surrounded by tasted ok, but the chicken itself had none of the taste. 3) Am 99% sure the sardines were from a tin 4) Chicken kebabs had way too much curry powder Again, I cannot say anything about the ambiance or service which may be wonderful for all I know but the food was certainly not. –kabeer

Food was pretty good, but I had to give 2 stars because of the atmosphere, which totally ruined a quiet dinner with friends. We were unfortunate enough to be seated by the speakers in the back. Cut to us nearly jumping out of our seats when the music BLASTS for the belly dancer’s routine. Luckily this only lasted 15 minutes because you can’t expect to carry on a conversation with your dinner mates until it ends. Beef tagine and imperial cous cous were both good, but overall everything was overpriced. Our friend at dinner summed it up well — yet another Moroccan place in this area trying too hard. Won’t be returning any time soon.

First a big thank you to my Unilocal buddy Dan B, in Redwood City., whose review of this place brought me here, and I’m so glad. Met my sis here for lunch. We were warmly greeted by a the handsome host, who was quite the charming flirt. I love it! The place is not very big or distinctive, but they’ve done the best they can to warm it up, and the bathrooms are really a trip. Not sure why the Unilocal description says vegetarian, because it’s not, but there are lots of great veg options. With us it’s always a negotiation of what we’ll order, since we so often construct a multi-course meal to share. That means we have to agree on everything. Sis was definite that we needed eggplant, so we built around that. I was talking so much, I forgot to take pictures, but here’s what we got: Beet & Potato Salad $ 9-chilled potatoes and red beets, tossed with cilantro and red onions in Morocco’s cumin balsamic vinaigrette: I loved this. It gave a whole different beet experience with the interesting textural contrast between the denser, firmer beets and the softer starchier potatoes. The addition of the cumin really accented the earthiness of the beets and toned down the sweetness Signature Lentil Salad $ 9-Red onions and cilantro tossed with chilled green lentils in Morocco’s cumin balsamic vinaigrette. This was good, but not very unusual. We got it FREE for checking in on Unilocal. My standard complaint about lentil salads(Dan B.‘s review calls this out) is that the lentils don’t seem cooked long enough. That wasn’t the case here; they were done just right. For me it would have been better with more acid and less onion. Sardine Filets $ 11 — Marinated filets with olive oil, preserved lemons, cilantro & red onions with spices. Love, love, love! This was my favorite. Wish I didn’t have to share. Only slight flaw was I had some how expected fresh grilled sardines, and it was the canned variety. The Middle Eastern style«gremoulade» was perfect with the assertiveness of the fish, especially the preserved lemon Eggplant Tagine $ 17-Steamed garlic eggplant with cumin, paprika, and cilantro, finished with olive oil, pomegranate, and chili. So for those of you wondering where the eggplant was… This was is all eggplant, nothing else. It had rich and dusky, sweet and garlicky notes. Perfect texture with some structural integrity, but soft and unctuous. I think in addition to the pomegragate there was honey, and for me the sweetness could have been reduced, but sis loved it. Briwatts $ 6 for 3– A silky phyllo dough dumpling with Caramelized Apricots & Almonds filling-other fillings are available, but this was the most exotic. It was barely sweetened if at all, and it was very tasty. The perfect finish. There are so many other things I want to try there, like the beef tagine. We will definitely go back. I hope that hunky host is still there! Food: 35⁄40 Service: 18⁄20 Atmosphere/intangibles: 16⁄20 Value: 17⁄20 Overall: 86/100= B+= 4stars

Being lost on Thanksgiving, new to the area and with friends coming over, my friend found this place through Google maps. I will start by the staff. It was Thanksgiving and it seemed they were understaffed, yet they stayed calm and were very nice. I appreciated how they were handling the situation. Then the food: it was excellent! Try the beef Tajin and if you are in a group of four, try the family style dinner and enjoy! We usually write reviews when we are angry, but I thought I should also share a very positive experience.

We had a Groupon deal for $ 20 off a take out order so we decided to try it out early on a Friday before the dinner rush. We got to the restaurant around 3:50ish but was able to put in our take out order before they opened. We ordered chicken briwatts, bread, beef tagine, and imperial couscous. The chicken briwatts are so tiny! I didn’t realize how small they’d be, but they were fresh and had a slightly sweet taste to them(cinnamon). The bread was yummy and we got a good amount of pieces to eat with our meals. The beef tagine was very tender but the amount was fairly small. I’m not sure if this is the normal serving size for Morrocan food, but I’m very petite and I could have eaten two servings alone. The imperial couscous was definitely my favourite out of all the items we ordered. It was fresh and there were garbanzo beans and raisins to make it slightly sweet. The serving size was enough for being a side dish for two people. My significant other really enojyed the beef tagine since he likes salty more than sweet, but overall the items we got for our first time eating Moroccan was enjoyable. The pricing, on the otherhand, is fairly expensive for the amount of food you get. The beef tagine was $ 20 but the serving size was so little. The chicken briwatts were $ 11 but you get four of the smallest turnovers I’ve ever seen. We may come back to see how dinner is inside the restaurant since the décor was very eye catching. For now, minus one star for the serving sizes and minus another star for the pricing.

Empty Nesters looking for a fun place to eat. We braved the Castro Street scene and landed in The Morocco’s just in time to see a stunning belly dancer gyrate to the tunes! Soltan, our waiter from Hungary is quite well informed and jovial and a great complement to this whimsical place! The dishes were quite impressive, we ordered a roasted pepper appetizer, Chicken kabob n Fish n vegetable Tagine. Outstanding flavors and presentation! Would definitely return again!

This is a great place to try a different cuisine as well as to enjoy a fun evening. They have events scheduled for every day of the week. I went here on a Monday and enjoyed the magician’s tricks while we were waiting for the food. I loved the mint tea, I might go here again just for the tea. We also ordered the beef kebab and chicken tagine. Portions were quite large and absolutely delicious. Service was good, the staff were friendly. There is also a small parking lot behind the restaurant.

Food is good, however not satisfied with the service. The free starter from the Unilocal checkin never came. We waited a long time with nobody serving us bread and salad. Also the beef kebab we ordered was changed to something with no notice, after almost 40 minutes’ wait.

Gorgeous place. Like Gorgeous! I felt like I flew on a magic carpet to Morocco. And they have Belly dancers! Price on food pretty reasonable, nice size portions. Ok so My thoughts on. Food: Tastey! if you eat meat, if your a vegetarian meh… Customer service: not the greatest at remembering orders. They actually forgot ours? Lol and we had to wait even longer to get some bread. BUT! in the end they did try to make it up to us by bringing something to munch on while we waited once we told them we were starving and a little annoyed lol they also removed a charge from our bill. I thought that was nice of them, they did try really hard to make up for the mistake on the order. I really appreciated that. Parking– not hard to find even on a Friday night. I actually would like to try coming back with my mom she likes places like these.
