Large menu with tasty food and very friendly staff. The location is fairly small though.

The two young women staffing the restaurant were friendly and accommodating. The premises were clean and pleasant. We ordered several dishes, which were preceded by a complimentary salad. The best part of that meal was the salad. It was extremely fresh and well presented, with a touch of vinegar, which was all it needed. The dishes we ordered all had one thing in common: They were extremely bland. I am not accustomed to, nor do I particularly like, spicy or highly seasoned foods. For me to say that something is bland means that it is bland, lacking flavor, in the extreme. One of the dishes had some taste. The others were tasteless to the point that the only thing we had to go on was the visual aspect and the texture of the food. We could have been chewing on cardboard. If we were to give this place another try, we would ask for recommendations from the server before ordering. Not sure that we’ll do that, though, as there are so many other places to investigate. To the Garden’s credit, I will say that what they were serving seemed healthy, even if it lacked flavor. That’s quite a few positives but, at the end of the day, the most important thing about a restaurant is the food. If the food is not flavorful, it’s hard to justify more than three stars.

I really liked the tofu vegitables! I think its one of the few places that is this fresh with such great and welcoming services. Plus baskin robins is next door so its a 1 — 2 combo you cannot beat!!!

Nice veggie good. As a meat lover, I never knew I would love all veggie meals until I came here. Water sometimes tastes a little bit like it contains more chlorine though. But overall nice service and delicious food — owner will chat with you and she’s super nice. Recommend its veggie duck!

3rd time here this month. All the food is great, I love the lychee smoothie. It’s a very small restaurant so watch out for the rush. You can also order carryout.

Last Sunday I stopped at Veggie Garden for dinner. I have been here several times and I tried several things on the menu. I was willing to try something I have not tried yet so I narrowed my choices and I ended up ordering VG beef with broccoli along with a happy berry smoothie. My dish arrived in about 5 minutes and I was excited to try something new but I felt it was rather bland. The food was edible, it wasn’t bad or it tasted weird: it just wasn’t as interesting as I thought it would be. The smoothie was good. It was a mix of strawberry, blueberry and raspberry. It was chilly and refreshing but other smoothies I tried at Veggie Garden like litchee or pineapple/coconut or mango/peach all win by a long distance. I like this restaurant and its atmosphere. The ladies are courteous. I will continue to come but this time I can only give 3 stars this time.

The food was pretty good. We ordered a lot as we wanted to try everything. Ordered: Sweet potato fries: good and great presentation Dumpling: not that good Basil Eggplant w/tofu: brother says it’s really good Tofu delight: really good Garlic spinach: Decent They forgot our white rice but at least we got a bowl of brown rice to start with. Server was willing to make sauce less salty as one of our guest couldn’t was on a low sodium diet so we appreciated that. Overall we would recommend it.

Friendly, clean, deliciously vegan, and efficient with orders. Ordered wonton soup stuffed with cabbage and a hint ginger. The soup was tasty and light and balanced, not salty or bland. 2nd dish was veggie mu shu. Julienned veggies like cabbage and carrots stir fried with side of caramel like hoisin sauce served with non fried eggroll sheets used on eggrolls. Tasted sweet and salty with sauce. 3rd dish was chow fun with faux chicken. It’s very good but oily like all chow fun you’ve eaten before minus the meat. 4th dish was basil eggplant. Oily deep fried and stir fried filled with dark thick sauce. Enjoyed everything in this place!

What an excellent find! I just happened to see the restaurant sign as we drove by and decided to try it out a few days later. It was a Sat night and restaurant wasn’t too crowded, but it should’ve been, because the food and the service are excellent. Really five star! The waitress was very friendly, not overbearing, and helped us make our selection. The food arrived promptly and looked beautiful. It tasted really delicious. We had the scallion pancakes, veg chicken chow mein and black pepper veg chicken. All 3 were so good that we could not decide which one was best. The salad they served earlier(with vinegar and ginger dressing) was so good too. Give it a try and go back often. It’s a great, little local restaurant.

Updated review: The food is still really good(that’s why it isn’t a 1 star), so I’ll definitely go back again, but most likely for takeout, not to dine in. Here’s why: I went there tonight with three friends at 5:30pm. So, it definitely wasn’t even close to prime dinner time. Yet, my food didn’t come until two of my friends were done eating! From what could be observed, they spread their cooking among tables, instead of completing the dishes for one table before moving to the next. It didn’t matter whether your group was there first. They automatically assumed that you’d be sharing food at your table, and so proceeded to dish out one plate to keep you busy eating for a bit, while waiting for the next dish as they cook another dish for another table. That was partly why my dish came so much later than my friends’. Also, it seemed they were heavily biased toward takeout orders. Three takeout orders were taken and fulfilled before my food came – yes, I witnessed all three people walking in, placing their orders and walking out with their food! The first takeout order happened right in front of our eyes while my table was waiting for our orders to be taken – after the only server there already told us that she’d be right with us. We waited for quite some time. I was going to have a family dinner there, but this type of service will never work, no matter how good the food is. Net-net: If you are going to dine in as a group, be prepared to wait a while in between dishes, as if they are courses. Better yet, just get takeout. You’ll have a better chance of getting fed on a timely basis. ~~~~~~~~~~ Original review: This restaurant turned up when I was looking for healthy lunch, and«vegan lunch» popped up as a category. That got my attention and made me decide to try it. I ordered from the lunch special menu VG Mongolian chicken. It was very tasty, and I’m impressed. The«chicken» tasted very much like real chicken, and I’m glad to know there’s this vegetarian/vegan alternative when I feel like having good-quality tofu(they claim it’s non-GMO, which is awesome!). The staff was very friendly when I walked in to pick up my order, just like other reviews on this place. May come back to revise my rating once I’ve had more experience with different dishes, because I’m definitely planning on going back.

Veggie Garden doesn’t look like much when you pass by, but don’t let that fool you because the food and service is actually really fantastic. I came in here after 5:00 for an early dinner and order the black peppered chicken combo with chow mein and a side of steamed veggies. First of all the service was fairly quick from start to finish. It only took about ten to fifteen minutes before the food was brought out and they made sure I had everything I needed before walking away. As for the food, I would give it about 4 stars on it’s own. I wasn’t one hundred percent sold on the chicken, but it was still very good. Lots of flavor too, even on the steamed veggies, and the chow mein was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long while. I can’t wait to grab some friends and give this place another try, recommended it for sure.

Love it! I usually get vegan Chinese food in the city for lunch at work, but one day I was really craving it while at home and I found this little gem! The portions are nice and large and the owner is super friendly! I ordered take-out so I can’t say much about the service, but when I walked in to pick up my order, the owner was super sweet and made me feel so welcome :) What I ordered: General’s Chicken: Pretty good but not as stellar as my other entrée(but I’m a little biased) You definitely got a lot more«chicken» than veggies but the sauce was just right, not too salty, not too oily! I love the fresh broccoli they throw in there too, really balances things out! Definitely has the texture of real chicken! Dry Braised String Bean: Okay I’m totally biased because I’m addicted to string beans, but this entrée was super delicious! I wish they could throw in some tofu or something else in there but the spicy black sauce was delicious! Wonton in Spicy Chili Sauce: YUM! The wontons were super delicious and definitely looked homemade so none of that frozen stuff! The little salad thing that accompanies the dumplings(bean sprouts, cucumbers, and a mysterious vegetable that was really delicious) makes the perfect pairing with the wontons. There’s kind of a nutty taste to the dumplings, the sauce is a good balance of sweet and spicy, and the salad makes this dish really delicious! Definitely will be coming back here to satisfy any veggie Chinese cravings!

While I am not vegan, this is my favorite vegan restaurant. It is my go to place when eating with vegans or vegetarians. The food is simply great! I generally dislike fake meat, but they pull it off. I have had dozens of different dishes here and they have all gotten thumbs up. Family style is the way to go so you can try as many different things a possible.

4.5 stars If you run into an argument of bad customer service at Chinese restaurants with someone then you can totally dispel it by bringing them here. Extremely friendly and polite staff. I felt like a VIP coming here albeit my first. The restaurant itself was small, simple and very clean(even the bathroom was shiny). Came here for lunch on Friday. It got good traffic going but not packed or anything. The lady greeted me in a jolly manner and told me to sit wherever I’d like. What? I get to pick? Instant VIP status. The waitress recommended the black pepper chicken(apparently their most popular dish), and I got a choice of hot & sour or miso soup. Also got the springroll appetizer. Everything came out neat, pretty but also fast. Lots of attention to details. The black pepper chicken was served with brown rice and thin noodle. The«chicken» was about as good as soy-base would get. It packed that protein taste behind, and the texture was satisfying. Just don’t expect it to taste like real chicken, but it was good in its own soy way. The sauce was on the saltier side but luckily it was segregated and didn’t get all over the rice/noodle. Overall they meshed together deliciously. The eggrolls tasted fresh and crispy with a perfect crunch. On point. The lady said goodbyes/thank yous wholeheartedly as I left. What? VIP status again. Twice in ONEMEAL for the price of… Nevermind. Overall I’m excited to come back to try more.

If you love tofu/soy products masquerading as meats as much as I do, you definitely need to try this place. The food is prepared well and is quite flavorful. Their green onion pancake is a must! I’ve become a connoisseur of the green onion pancake in the recent months and theirs is my favorite of the moment. It is more delicate then most and also comes with the sauce artfully drizzled across the slices. So crispy and tasty. The other two dishes I tried were quite good as well. I was here a few weeks ago and already want to go back. The place is very neat, modern, clean(bathroom is one of the sparkling-est clean ones I’ve seen lately) and the service is quite good. All of which may be a nice surprise as it’s located in a small strip mall type area.

I was looking for a vegetarian place to eat and I stumbled upon this place on Unilocal. The service was really great. The lady who took our order was super nice and she recommend the hot and sour soup which was delicious. I liked how the lunch special was inexpensive and the portion size was pretty big! You can save half of it for later, which is great for those who are trying to save money! LOL! I got the wonton with chili oil which was really good. It also has peanut cause on it which gives it a good kick. I shared with my boyfriend and it was already filling. I got the kung pao chicken. You can tell it’s definitely not chicken but it was still really good! Go during lunch is suck a great deal! I’ll definitely will be coming back to try other things on the menu.

I was craving some alternative protein sources. With the closure of Thai Idea in Foster City, I had to go a little further to satisfy that craving. I’m glad I made the trip. Veggie Garden has friendly, attentive service who helped us decide what to order. We got an orange peel chicken and vegetarian duck. The dishes are fresh made to order — we heard the skillets in the back and everything came out as it was completed. The orange peel chicken is a little sweet but I liked the texture. The veggie duck was awesome — it even smelled and tasted much like crispy Chinese duck dishes. We ate family style and added a side of rice. Two main dishes, the free salad, and rice were more than enough for our lunch for two. I enjoyed gawking at neighboring tables’ dishes as well. I look forward to another visit to try some of the tasty looking dishes I saw.
