Pretty good shaved snow and the chocolate puffles are amazing! The place is right across San Antonio cal train station and service was pretty good!

THESNOW– $ 5.85 for a single, $ 6.75 for a regular which can feed 2 people — mango tango= mango snow with pieces of mango and mango jelly — summer sunset= mango snow with pieces of mango and strawberry — the snow is so soft and shaved into ribbons instead of pieces which makes the texture that much better! THEPUFFLES $ 4 — crisp, hot, soft, egg-shaped waffle goodness. Get the chocolate chip. It’s 0.50 more but totally worth it — I LOVEPUFFLES THELOCATION — right across from the San Antonio Caltrain location. surrounded by residential neighborhood but really close to San Antonio Plaza — street parking, but you can park in the caltrain lot for free after 6pm THESTORE&PEOPLE — super cute décor and art/logo — nice and airy with both indoor and outdoor seating — friendly workers! Always a plus I don’t eat shaved snow too often but this is definitely the place to go! Perfect for them summer days. DON’T FORGETTHEPUFFLES. They also have boba and coffee.

Great snow! Super yummy and great price. High quality mochi, not too chewy. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The nearby neighborhood is really quiet and relaxing. Nice to take a leisurely walk.

I’m a little late to the shaved ice party but better late than never. This little place is tucked back in between a townhouse complex and across from the San Antonio CalTrain station. It can be tough to find as I was expecting to find it among the San Antonio shopping complex that dominates most of Showers Drive. But once you find this little spot, you’ll be glad you did. The interior is bright and poppy; Intimate and cute. There’s a train painted on one wall and a scene of the Eiffel Tower with four people with awkward expressions on their faces on the other wall. The pinks and bright colors definitely made me want to eat brightly colored shaved ice. And that I did. I had two large servings(one ordered right after the other) which should tell you how much I liked this place. I had a mango snow concoction(refreshing!) and the second was a strawberry shaved ice. I luxuriated in how fluffy it was and how much the mango popped with that wonderfully artificial mango sweetness. My only gripe was the strawberry flavor was pretty light — I could barely taste the hints of strawberry in the snow, but no matter, I’m trifling. I ate it all anyway. Also, there’s something great and cozy about having a shaved ice as you watch a train rumble by into the darkness of warm night. The fact that they are in a residential neighborhood gives you an intimate, unhurried experience which is nice compared to the rush I feel when I visit the usual dessert spots located in strip malls and more commercial developments.

Have been here twice. This is a version shaved from a rotating cylinder of flavored ice, resulting in a great layered texture. Highly recommended!!! I really enjoyed the mango flavored ice, in the summer sunset and mango tango.

Chilly & Munch is a where SnoZen used to be. Not sure if it’s a rebrand/relaunch or completely new owners. It is located right next to the Caltrain San Antonio station, tucked in a mostly residential area. For those of you new to shaved snow. It’s kind of like halfway between ice cream and shaved ice. It’s ice cream that’s shaved into«flakes», but unlike shaved snow where artificial flavor is poured on top, it’s blended into the flavor. We ordered the regular(for us) size Summer Sunset for $ 6.85. Pros — Taste and texture of shaved snow is well done — Large portions — Great hangout spot: lots of seating — Friendly staff Cons — Location: kind of out of the way in Mountain View — Difficult to find parking — A bit pricey

Chilly & Munch is hands down the best place for shaved snow(not to be confused with shaved ice) in Mountain View. Highly recommend the«Summer Sunset» for its fresh mango and strawberry pieces. Plus the condensed milk drizzled on top is better than any cherry on top. Friendly staff. Fast service. Cute wall art. Fun place for kids and families. Best part is that it’s walking distance from the San Antonio Caltrain stop. Reward yourself. It’s going to be a hot summer.

First time trying shaved snow after moving to Palo Alto, and I wasn’t disappointed. Parking is a bit difficult to find — I ended up finding a space on the street down one of the side streets. The inside is very clean and spacious, with tall ceilings and white tables. I really liked the ambiance. There are a variety of different types of snow to pick from. My partner and I ended up going for the summer sunset, which is mango snow with condensed milk drizzle, fresh strawberries, and fresh mango. There are 3 different sizes, and we opted for the medium(meant for 2 people, $ 6.85), which in hindsight I think was a little too big. We will try the smaller size next time. The snow itself is delicious! The shaved snow is very cold, sweet, and infused with mango flavor. It goes very well with the fresh fruit. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other flavors.

I ordered the taro snowy ice with mochi(my fave!) and sliced almonds. I had a hard time deciding what to order because there were so many interesting flavors and combinations. The smaller size is generous, enough for me to share with two friends(they ate 1⁄3 total and I ate the rest). Can’t wait to return, especially now that I know we can park in the underground garage!(Since we didn’t know that ahead of time, we circled around the neighborhood looking for street parking for 15 minutes and wound up being late to meet our friends for dessert.)

4.5 stars! I’ve recently developed a sweet tooth and was extremely happy to find Chilly & Munch. The map provided by the business was informative and we found plenty of parking in the underground garage. We ordered the matcha green tea shaved ice and thought it was quite good. It could use a bit more condensed milk throughout, however, because after the tower of ice toppled over and the portion with the condensed milk was covered, the remainder of the dessert lacked the sweetness of the condensed milk. It was difficult to dig up the portions with the condensed milk as it was covered and on the bottom of the plate. We came on a Friday night and it was really busy. There was only 1 table open for seating and a large group ordered before us so we had to wait about 20 minutes before our dessert came out. I’d definitely recommend coming here for some yummy desserts!

Yum! I’ve walked by this place a few times while in the neighborhood but never knew what it was. There isn’t a big sign to let you know what’s inside. A little searching on the web let me know it was a shaved ice spot and today I finally got to try it. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the mango or strawberry shaved ice and the girl at the register let me know that mango is the number one seller with strawberry being fourth. Since mango is in season, I went with that with the fresh mango and strawberries. I forget the name of the combination but it was so good! The«ice» is actually creamy and it is dairy free. I really like that they have different size options. The smallest size is actually still enough for two of you’re both wanting a small dessert. I don’t know if I could finish one on my own. I’ve seen this style of shaved ice but never tried it before today. I’ve totally been missing out! Even M liked it and he really dislikes the typical shaved ice. The people were friendly and the shaved ice came out surprisingly fast. This is super helpful when you only have time for a quick bite before catching a train. They have a screen that shows the next train which is really smart since it’s so close to the station. We also got the original puffle but M prefers Eggette’s less crispy version.

This used to be Snozen… pretty much the same items/menu. I shared the strawberry snow that comes with strawberries and blueberries and drizzle. Too bad I forgot to add azuki beans and condensed milk. Oh well. It was good and it is a nice place to go to for some shaved snow around the area.

Unexpected location(on the corner of an apartment complex) and definitely tucked away from foot traffic… so am super glad Unilocal unearthed this spot. This seems to be the year of shaved/crushed ice that has me chasing down these spots all over the peninsula to appease the kids, and so I’ve become a bit of a connoisseur… and this place gets it right. Nothing special in the ambiance or décor(except for some cool wall murals that kept the kids staring), but the service was great and the treats were awesome. Unlike other places that served crushed ice with flavor syrups and toppings of choice, Chilly and Munch actually freezes their flavors into ice blocks and then shaves the ice. It’s sort of like the difference between baking chocolate chip cookies with the chips in the mix, or just baking plain cookies and throwing the chips on top afterwards. Def not the same thing. The result here is a more richly flavored ice with great taste in every bite, not just lingering at the bottom of your bowl. I had taro milk ice with lychee jelly and coconut mochi(highly recommend) and others with me had the chocolate ice(super rich dark chocolate flavor) and cookies and cream. Both excellent. Highly recommend as a quick treat with our without kids in tow. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

In general I’m a huge fan of this ribbon/shaved iced style of desserts. This place is solid and I would definitely come here again. My other favorite place for this style is still in LA: Blockheads and Chilly Ribbons, but this place is still good. I had the matcha green tea flavor with red bean and mochi. I will say that despite the fact that it looks well not appealing, it tasted delicious. I like that the matcha flavor wasn’t overly sweetened and it still maintained the more pure matcha bitter taste. They have a preset combinations of shaved ice and toppings that you can choose from, or if you are creative then you can pick your own combinations. I also tried the berry shaved combination and this one was really good, except the strawberry drizzle was a bit too sweet for my taste. Other notes: the workers were super nice; I came close to closing and they let my friend and I stay inside until we finished our food/while they cleaned up since it was cold outside. They played good music(my favorite Allen Stone songs were on). They also have a screen that tells you when the next Caltrain is arriving so that you can catch the train on time(oh yah did I mention it is right next to a Caltrain station?). Parking is annoying but they have a nice parking guide that shows you street parking areas that you can park. Next time I come I’ll probably bring my laptop and try to do some work.

This is a cute little place to hang out, hidden close to the San Antonio Caltrain station. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as outdoor. It also doesn’t get too crowded which is always a plus. They do have other items like sandwiches, pizza, coffee etc in the menu but the main attraction of this place is the shaved snow. We tried the summer sunset which is a mango based flavor and the rocky road which is chocolate based. The fruit based flavors definitely go well on the shave snow. We got the smallest size which seemed a lot for one person, I hope they come up with an even smaller size which would be perfect. Parking can be tricky at times but there is an underground parking lot close by near the Caltrain.

Chilly & Munch’s 100th review! Met up with some friends here since their dining area is quite spacious. I’ve been here a few times before, but never got around to writing a review, so here we go. Puffle: Before trying them here, I never knew they existed. And they come in chocolate flavor! These Hong Kong eggettes break into little puff pieces so that you can pop ‘em into your mouth. They’re light and airy with a slightly crunchy shell. Sooo good when they’re still hot from the grill. Great for sharing! And they go well with the snow. As a previous Unilocaler had said — snow with puffles is love. Shaved Snow: Love the snow here. I hail from a land of many shaved snow options(Class 302, Blockheads), but I like coming here whenever I’m around because the snow is creamier and not as overwhelmingly sweet. I usually get their mango or sweet milk snow. Or I try their special flavors. Last time was lemon-strawberry. Boba: My friend had some of their mango jasmine tea boba and said it was good. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to boba so I stuck with the house milk tea and enjoyed that. Customer Service: The folks who work here are really kind. You can see them joking with each other when they have downtime. Makes me feel like I’m in a family environment when I study here. Did I mention they have free wifi and plenty of outlets? Parking: Every time I’ve been here, it’s after work or during the weekend. Therefore, I’ve never had a problem finding parking. I just go to the Caltrain underground parking structure off San Antonio Circle since it’s free after 6PM and on weekends. Otherwise, street parking is always available. Since I know I’ll be back soon enough, see you next time Chilly & Munch!

I was a huge fan of Snozen before they closed, but Chilly & Munch also now has a special place in my heart. I always come here whenever I’m in the area, often for many consecutive nights in a row — it’s THAT good. The snow here is creamy, perfectly sweet, and has a distinct milky texture/flavor that other snow places have not been able to replicate. My boyfriend and I always get the Party-sized Atari(Taro Snow + Almond + Mochi + Condensed Milk), which is their largest size but is perfect for splitting between 2 people. The combination of soft mochi, crispy almond slivers, and condensed milk is the perfect topping for this dessert. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! The space here is very large and there is ample seating. Despite coming here all the time, we’ve yet to experience long waiting times or crowdedness which is a huge plus. The staff here is also super friendly and efficient, and they’ll bring your dessert to your table when it’s ready! Chilly & Munch is one of my top reasons for actually wanting to live in this area. This place is a true treasure.

My brother and his girlfriend have been raving about this place to me for months so I had pretty high expectations going in. The actual shop itself is pretty hidden away, and I don’t think I would have ran into it on my own had it not been for the recommendations I received to go try it out. I have never had shaved ice like this before. Excuse me, I meant«snow» because that’s basically what it is. Delicious snow with syrup and fresh fruit poured on top. Very different from your typical shaved ice in terms of texture but the flavor is incredible. I would say the only place more unique in terms of shaved ice is Oolani in Hawaii. Yeah you’re going to have to go to Hawaii to find better.

Parking is a little tough to find at this little neighborhood spot(it takes up space at a townhouse complex), but it’s very clean and cute with graphics of funny creatures representing Chilly & Munch! If you can’t find parking, click on the helpful map to see where to enter for the underground parking on San Antonio Circle. The usual Asian desserts are offered here — boba, shaved snow, and eggettes, along with snacks(pizza inspired), smoothies, sodas and coffees. I liked the friendly customer service and knowledgeable staff. This is a cute spot to stop, and is across the street from Caltrain if you’re coming through Mountain View and want a quick bite.

Our group of 8 decided to share the large mango shaved ice with strawberries and mangoes. With Unilocal check-in, we also received a free mochi topping. They are extremely generous with the portions and it was just the right amount to satisfy everyone cravings. Better yet, it only cost $ 8! Street parking is a bit difficult to find on weekends.
