The SBX is the independently run alternative to the university’s book store on the campus of CMU. You can buy your books and CMU garb here for cheaper than the university bookstore (usually). Also, this is a great place for all your frat/​sorority Greek letter needs. There’s also a random assortment of art and office supplies, dorm décor, snacks, tailgating necessities, and basically the CMU logo and name emblazoned across anything you can imagine. The student employees are helpful and friendly as can be.
While it’s a little cheaper than the regular university bookstore, the prices for clothes and other items can still be up there. Check the sale racks for some good finds on the cheap.

This is a great alternative for buying your books. They have used books at quite a discount. They also will buy them back, but usually you don’t make that much money.
They also have CMU garb, and school supplies. Both of which are overpriced, yet still cheaper than the «official» CMU bookstore.
