Martin and the rest of the guys from King David Moving were terrific! I hired them through a quote provided on Thumbtack and I’m glad I did: cheerful, timely, efficient and very professional. Even better: I just finished unpacking and they didn’t break or damage a single thing! Just based on the sheer volume of stuff I have and how much of it is fragile, that would be impressive for any moving company. They hauled my oversized living room furniture up to the 4^th floor in a walk-​up (they serve the city in addition to the burbs), among many other things, so it wasn’t the cheapest move ever but they never stopped loading and unloading at a quick pace. It was a great experience for a stressful occasion, I even made sure to get a few business cards before they left so I can refer them to friends.

I used King David’s moving company this past Saturday to move my one bedroom downtown condo out to the suburbs. Martin and his crew were fantastic. They all were very friendly, fast, and professional at moving our items. They all took such care with our boxes and made sure all of our furniture was wrapped up tight with blankets. Martin and his crew made moving a breeze. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to move and not get stressed about it. They only accepts cash or cashier check so be aware of that as that may catch you off guard on moving day.

Just used this company to move to my new apartment today. 3 men 1 truck and 4 hours later and we are nicely settled in. These guys were on time and well prepared! The set up of our old apartment was like a maze, but they were able to move all our big items and boxes out without damage and ease. When we got to the new apartment, we were done in less than an hour. They placed the furniture exactly how we wanted it and made sure we were happy with everything before they left.
This was our first time using this company and we would definitely use them again.
The customer service reps when you call in for quotes are very nice and understanding.
Overall great experience.

King David Movers were AMAZING. They helped us move a 2 bedroom apartment from the suburbs to a city apartment on the 3^rd floor. Everything was wrapped and they were very careful not to break anything. Martin and his guys were AMAZING. It was very nice to have a hassle free move! I will be using them again when I move next year!

Used these guys for a commercial move yesterday (April 29, 2011). Absolutely amazing service from beginning to end! The lady who takes the orders, Liana, was a delight to work with. Martin (one of the managers) came out to do the estimate and then actually showed up as one of the three-​man crew for the move. He was so fun to work with, very polite and willing to do whatever we asked. My boss made a few last-​minute changes and Martin took it all in stride.
Our move was a little non-​traditional, even for a commercial move, because we were «only» moving down the hall from one suite to another. We also had quite a few items going off-​site to a storage facility (later changed to my boss’ basement). The crew worked efficiently the entire time and made sure to take care of our belongings. They also made sure we were 100% satisfied with each step of the move, and that was very reassuring. If we needed anything moved, even an inch, we knew we could ask and they were more than happy to help.
They estimated 5.5 hours and came in at 5.75 hours, so they couldn’t have done better to stick to the estimate. In the end, my boss was so happy with the move that he praised me and called it «flawless» — so I have to give a huge shout-​out to King David, Martin and the whole crew, because without them, the move would not have gone off as flawlessly as it did. Thank you guys!!!

I chose this company based on all the 5 stars it has. Later I realized that most of the reviews are filtered and suspicious to made up by the owner. So I got a call from king david moving and we estimated a time of 3 – 3.5 hours for my move based on the info that I gave. I did a quick comparison and found that these guys were the cheapest, so I went ahead with them.
There boys arrived at our place and did a quick inspection. They estimated 5.5 hours (as opposed to 3 hours). I blindly signed the agreement without questioning that and thinking that these guys will be fast in wrapping up stuff; and that 5.5 hours is worst case.
It took long time for these guys to wrap up stuff and took all 5.5 hours to finish it. One of those guys was dumb and wasnt fast enough to take lead and move things faster. I finally had to step in and start helping these guys.
At the end I got billed for those 5.5 hours and top of that $ 124 for a minor stretch wrap, bubble wrap and 2 boxes that they used. These guys give all special offers and what not, but dont fall prey to that and choose a company that can give you a flat rate for your move. When you choose it hourly, they are likely to ripppp you off like this. I estimated my move to be $ 300, and I ended up paying $ 600. not a good start in my new house for sure because of those guys.

I need to tell you how happy I am with this company because I am very happy I went with these guys than any other company.
So they said they were going to arrive around 8 – 9 am and they showed up in that time frame. They sent 3 guys to move me out of my one bedroom apartment on the first floor in Mount Prospect to a two bedroom on the third floor in Palatine.
We had already set up everything for them to take to save us some time and money to move out. They do take apart furniture but they didn’t need to with us. They wrapped everything with tape to make sure that everything was secure. They even double wrapped our 55″ flatscreen and made it look real easy to carry.
They moved our stuff out faster than anyone can!
When we went to Palatine I felt really bad because they had to go up flights of stairs to get to the third floor. Even then they did it really fast! The whole move only lasted an hour and a half! I did have to pay the 2 ½ hr minimum but it was well worth it. It saved me and my husband the headache to do all of this stuff ourself.
Nothing was broken and they were extra careful and fast. I would recommend these movers to everyone I come accross!
